Has there ever been 2 .400 hitters on the same team, in the like of Ruth and O'Doul ... nor do I ever remembered the Yankees getting SPANKED like that !!

Ruth may not get enough PA to qualify for the Batting Title, but it is still a HUGE accomplishment with 2 guys doing that well this late into the season. And about that 19 run effort...It is most likely the only time you will ever see me not complaining about my Sox making 5 errors in one game

Kallio Injury Update
Sunday, September 17th, 1922
Rudy Kallio expressed disappointment but also relief after finding out he would be out 9 months with a torn rotator cuff he suffered on 09/15/1922. Speaking to a reporter at the team's clubhouse, Kallio, the Detroit starting pitcher said, "Based on how bad it hurt, I was worried I would be out a lot longer."

In 29 starts this season Kallio has registered a 12-18 record and a 4.29 ERA.
Great Day for Barnhart -- 5 Hits
Saturday, September 16th, 1922
Clyde Barnhart of the Phillies was unstoppable in today's 16-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates at Baker Bowl. He battered them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats.

"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Philadelphia third baseman after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-6 won't hurt your batting average like 0-5 will."

Clyde Barnhart hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

Thus far this season in 104 games Barnhart is batting .322 with 6 home runs, 50 RBIs and 86 runs scored. He has 137 hits in 425 at-bats.
Day-to-Day Injury Shelves Frisch
Friday, September 15th, 1922

Team doctors said it could be one week before the standout second baseman will be completely healed. He could miss a few games.

This season Frisch is batting .397 with 184 hits, 13 home runs, 86 RBIs, .460 OBP and has scored 99 runs.

Sheesh ... when you have a team that have 4 players, over 83 RBIs ... that added up more than the other team's starting 9s ... I don't think that team has any chance of winning ...
