We do not score enough runs to not have +.700 def eff! One of my big problems is at SS with Vincent Harrison making 4 errors in 86 chances for a .953 FPct and a -2.2 ZR. He is hitting .290 on the season so I may need to just move him out of SS... my other big problem is Anzhel Astsatrian behind the plate. He looks bad. He isn't rated well so I sort of expected it, but 3 errors in 35 TC, yikes. Another defensive issue is Melvin van der Kamp. The problem is our manager believes he can play the infield, which obviously can't. He is a great RF, but other than that his skills go down hill fast... this is putting me in a bind. What kind of bind? Well a roster bind, with a 25-man roster I am carrying 12 pitches. I really think that needs to change, problem is I don't want to risk losing anyone and the only players that have options are my #4 starter and my closer... I have to figure this out... I need to find a way to bring up Nelson Barrera to be that last man on the roster. A couple more firsts in Cannons history happened this week. We recorded our first shut-out a combination one with Salazar and Kessler; and we recorded our first series win, taking 2 of 3 from the Newark Millers. I have to look at some of the bright spots. Like we are pitching well. Outside of a couple of players we playing defense well. We are getting runners on base (3 of 6 games this week we left 10+ runners on). So now we need to work on a) hitting the ball with runners on base and b) stealing bases/baserunning. We are getting there. ![]() Standings Leaders DE Southern: Lewes Braves / Seaford Blue Jays: 12-7 (+1) DE Northern: Milford Clippers: 14-5 (+3.0) MV Eastern: Annapolis Admirals: 15-4 (+4.5) MV Western: Norfolk Cavaliers: 16-3 (+3) Players of the Week: Delaware: Jose Castillo, Seaford Blue Jays, 10-20 2 HR's, 6 RBI's MarVa: Lucio Pena, Annapolis Admirals, 12-26, 4 HR's, 13 RBI's Power Rankings: 1) Norfolk Cavaliers (160.6) 2) Annapolis Admirals (149.1) 3) Milford Clippers (139.6) 4) Ellicott City Express (128.2) 5) Seaford Blue Jays (116.7) News: Lewes Braves: Lost SP Juan Melendez for the season with a torn UCL. Lewes Braves: 1B Mathew Robison showed off his power slugging 3 HR's in a 17-8 win earlier this week. He was 3-4 with 4 R's and 5 RBI's on the day. Martinsburg Moutaineers: Suffered, yet, another injury. Losing 3B Stuart Valle for 6 weeks. Valle was hitting .229-4-4 on the year. Lewes Braves: The Braves were off to a hot start, but this week they lost 2 starters. SP Pablo Garcia is going to miss 7 months with shoulder inflammation. Garcia, 33, is 6-time all-star and was off to a 2-1 3.72 start this year. Norfolk Cavaliers: Leonard Lawson had his 20-game hitting streak snapped by the Richmond Cardinals. Wilmington Iron Pigs: Lost MR Justin Taylor for 3-4 months with a torn flexor tendon. Taylor has yet to pitch this season.

Never expected that and to do it against an average team makes it that much more impressive... at least to me. Angel Rivera got his first W and now I just need Lazzaro to get his. I feel strong about this team and the rotation and I don't want them to get so down on themselves they don't advance as they should... I will be keeping my eye on Laz and maybe move him to the pen.. maybe. I am not sure what to do with Francisco Reyes. I thought signing him was going to be a good thing and he would give us a little veteran leadership; however, I didn't expect him to slump so much. He is 5-44 on the season and he had a huge first week. I have 2 guys in AAA I'd like to bring up, but I'd hate to DFA a future hall-of-famer... just doesn't seem fair. In hindsight, I shouldn't of signed him... For some reason my running game is awful... I have a bunch of guys who are good baserunners, who a lot of speed, but wow we aren't having any luck on the base paths, outside of Felix Olivas. Tony Inman: 15 speed, 20 steal, 20 basrunning: 4 for 8 Vincent Harrison: 13 speed, 20 steal, 12 baserunning: 1 for 6 Vance Burns: 16 speed, 20 steal, 20 baserunning: 3 for 7 Felix Olivas: 14 speed, 20 steal, 20 baserunning: 5 for 5 In 2027, Burns lead the Delaware Conf with 51 steals going 51 for 64. Hopefully he can get back on track. My game, our W's, depend on us taking that extra base, or a steal. We won't be doing it on power. I would like to make a few roster moves, but these darn options years are in my way. I am worried I would lose certain players if I waive/DFA them. For instance Jamie Villarreal who has started 17 of our 25 games this season is hitting only .189. Sixto Hernandez, outside of last week, hasn't done much and in 23 starts he is hitting .197... I do think these guys will be valuable down they offer depth. Four weeks in and I am learning more and more about these guys, and for the rest of the 22 weeks of the season they will all be playing for a chance to make the team in 2031. Yes, this is a throw away year as far as making the playoffs, but not for trying to find a gem or developing a big leaguer. They are all under watch. Next week should be an interesting one as we play two last place teams. I just hope we don't take this week too lightly. ![]() Standings Leaders DE Southern: Seaford Blue Jays: 15-10 (+0.5) DE Northern: Milford Clippers: 19-6 (+4.0) MV Eastern: Annapolis Admirals: 19-6 (+5.5) MV Western: Norfolk Cavaliers: 21-4 (+5) Players of the Week: Delaware: Tom Anderson, Wilmington Iron Pigs, 12-21, 3 HR's, 6 RBI's, 4 R's MarVa: Halmer Stolk, Richmond Cardinals, 11-21, 2 HR's, 5 RBI's Power Rankings: 1) Norfolk Cavaliers (161.2) 2) Milford Clippers (142.8) 3) Annapolis Admirals (139.8) 4) Ellicott City Express (118.2) 5) Georgetown Sixteens (115.0) News: Dover Generals: 1B Mark Hoover is going to miss 4-weeks with a sprained ankle. Hoover was off to a red-hot start hitting .381-3-15 in his first 22 games. Georgetown Sixteens: SP Ricardo Gonzalez recorded, a Delaware Conference record, 17 strikeouts in a 3-1 win against the Beacons. The 17 K's ties Paul Browns DBL record. Norfolk Cavaliers: CF Sergio Rodriguez is out for 9-10 with a ruptured MCL. Rodriguez one of the sparks at the top of the Cavaliers lineup was hitting .244-0-9 when he went down with the injury. Milton Brewers: Closer Luis Delon is going to miss around 4-months with a torn rotator cuff. Delon collected 6 saves and a 1 in 11 games while posting a 0.93 ERA this season. Salisbury Ports: Catcher Jose Villareal called a closed door meeting after his teams slow start (8-17, currently). Villareal is well respected by his teammates, but it is yet to be determined if his "pep" talk did any good. Virginia Beach Surf Dawgs: Closer Manuel Petrelia continues to set records. Two-seasons ago he passed Dalton Whitaker as the all-time saves leader with his 344 save, then he flew by 350 and this week he hit #400.

Players of the Month - April 2030
Delaware Conference
Anderson Takes Home DE Conf Top Batter Award: When guys like Wilmington's Tom Anderson win Batter of the Month awards, it just makes you feel good. In a productive April, the longtime Delaware Conference veteran toyed with opposing pitchers all month long, collecting 35 hits in 97 at-bats. The veteran third baseman hit for a .361 batting average and collected 9 home runs, 18 RBIs and 20 runs scored. DE Conf's Top Starter is Pérez: Veteran Claudio Pérez put together quite a successful stretch in April for the Milford Clippers, earning himself the Delaware Conference Pitcher of the Month award. Pérez racked up a 4-0 record in 6 starts, posting a 2.05 ERA over 44 innings and striking out 19. Red-Hot Seaford Rookie Rated DE Conf's Best: Seaford's José Castillo put the wraps on an excellent month today, topping it off with the Delaware Conference Rookie of the Month award. Last month the 26-year-old Seaford shortstop played in 26 games and hit .268 with 10 doubles, 1 triple and 4 home runs. Castillo also scored 18 times and drove in 11 runs. MarVa Conference MV Conf Best Hitter Trophy Goes to Parker: The MarVa Conference has made it official -- Trevor Parker is the winner of the Batter of the Month trophy. In April, the Norfolk right fielder starred with a .337 batting average, 9 home runs and 34 RBIs. Parker also had 18 walks, posted a .438 on-base percentage and scored 32 times. April's Top Hurler is Hernández: April was a very good month for Joaquín Hernández of the Norfolk Cavaliers. He held opposing hitters for a .182 average and took home the MarVa Conference Pitcher of the Month award. In 6 starts he claimed a 5-0 record as he put up a 1.48 ERA and struck out 42 in 42.2 innings. MV Conf Selects Rookie Star of the Month: Marcos Ramos's eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young Ellicott City first baseman has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month. In April he was voted the Rookie of the Month Award. During the month he hit .277 with 6 doubles, no triples and 6 home runs. Ramos also scored 16 times and drove in 15 runs. --- NOTE: Making my monthly recaps shorter so I can keep the season up. If you want to see standings or leaders just let me know...

Injuries: OF Jamie Villareal, fractured hand, 6 weeks SP Yoshtoki Mori, Rehab Assignment to AAA / 22 days left 2 GS (0-1), 11.2 IP, 14 H, 6 ER, BB, 4 K, 3.86 ERA With Villareal (.204-0-5) going down with an injury I had to make a decision on who to take his slot. Looking at the AAA roster my outfield depth wasn't all that great, so I decided to go with Chance Boone. Boone is a decent OF who can play LF and CF, has decent speed and hits left handed. Boone was hittin .346-2-7 in 28 AB's on the farm. Not really sure what to expect from him, but here is his audition. Other/Roster News: none GM Notes: I am a little worried about our bullpen and how much Guardio is using them. Two players in particular, Hee-seop So has pitched in 13 games (21.1 IP) and Dan Kessler 14 games (16.0 IP). Both pitchers are only 24 and I would hate for them to a) get hurt, or b) get tired due to over use. I am carrying 12 pitchers for a reason and 3 of those 12 have only pitched in 6 games. I might need to talk to Guardio about that. One thing I will be watching is injuries. So far one month in we have been lucky with only losing Villareal for any amount of time. We have a lot of fragile players. We just two infielders in AAA on the 7-day AAA DL. Manny Hernandez was sent to the DL and he was going to be the guy I called up, but instead went with Boone... the injury ratings of my team makes me wish I had a guy who could play all 9 positions well and was overly durable... I am happy that all of my starters finally earned a W. It was a long time coming for Lazzaro and hopefully this will be a sign of good things for him.. and right now Jesus Salazar is the only starter that has any option years left, which means he may be the odd man out when Mori is ready to return... oddly enough he is my top starter right now... Woody Brown is my offensive leader right now and I don't see that changing anytime soon. However I do worry about him since he is "fragile" right now he is on pace to play in 142 games and hit 51 bombs... wonder if he will be able to keep up those numbers. Francisco Reyes made me a feel a little better about having him around last week with his 3-9 showing. He started in 2 games, played in 3 overall and hit a HR and drove in 3. I don't expect him to do this every week, but he is a much better hitter than .114! We had a great first month and it will be interesting to see what this upcoming month brings. The schedule looks a little tougher, but if we keep on playing how we have been and keep getting better we should manage just fine... that being said I'd love to see another 5-2 week in our future. ![]() Standings Leaders DE Southern: Lewes Braves: 20-12 (+1.0) DE Northern: Milford Clippers: 21-10 (+1.5) MV Eastern: Annapolis Admirals: 24-8 (+5.5) MV Western: Norfolk Cavaliers: 26-6 (+5.0) Players of the Week: Delaware: John Houghton, Wilmington Iron Pigs, 14-25, 2 HR's, 8 RBI's MarVa: Trevor Parker, Norfolk Cavaliers, 14-28, 3 HR's, 5 RBI's Power Rankings: 1) Norfolk Cavaliers (154.3) 2) Annapolis Admirals (136.0) 3) Lewes Braves (123.5) 4) Ellicott City Express (121.1) 5) Milford Clippers (120.9) News: Chesapeake Blue Crabs: Will be without OF Juan Rodriguez for 2 weeks. The OF hasn't played much this season (1-6), but is a key player on the Crabs bench... 3 days later after the announcing Rodriguez was reassessed and was diagnosed with a strained PCL. This injury will shut him down for another week. Christiana Blue Hens: Lost OF Juan Hernandez for 5 weeks. Hernandez sprained his ankle on a defensive play. On the year he is hitting .267-6-16. Lewes Braves: The DL is the place to be in Lewes and Claude Bond is heading that way. Bond will miss around 2-weeks with knee tendinitis. The 35-year old is hitting .309-6-16 on the year. Lewes Braves: Yes its them again. This time they lost MR/Closer Matsusuke Koizumi for 14 months. Koizumi has been diagnosed with a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. He may have an excuse for his struggles this season in 12 games (1 save, 7.20) after saving 38 games last year. Seaford Blue Jays: OF Alfredo Rodriguez extended his hitting streak to 20-games with a 3rd inning solo-HR.

Injuries: OF Jamie Villareal, fractured hand, 4-5 weeks SP Yoshtoki Mori, Rehab Assignment to AAA / 22 days left 3 GS (1-1), 17.0 IP, 18 H, 8 ER, 2 BB, 9 K, 4.24 ERA Other/Roster News: none GM Notes: After riding high with a 5-2 week we came back down to reality this week as the competition got a little tougher. We just have to find a way to score runs, especially if we want to win some games. Our Defensive Eff. took a beating this week and I will be doing some research as to why and will be making moves if necessary. We are 11th in runs scored, out of 12, which means to win games we need every advantage possible and having the worst Def Eff in the league isn't going to get the job done. The biggest defensive hole we have is our catcher. So I went on a hunt to find the best defensive catcher out there... oddly enough there isn't on the free-agent wire, worth signing and no one, and I mean no one, is willing to talk trade with us. We just don't have anything they want right now. I may have to figure something else out. I do have Dan Bank sitting in AAA, can't hit a lick (5/5, 8/8, 8/8, 9/9, 7/7), but is my defensive option behind the plate... problem? Roster space. Plus what would I do with Cavazos and his bat? Not that he is knocking the cover off the ball, but he does have 7 HR's and 15 RBI's. I do think its time to review the roster and maybe get some fresh faces up here or mix up the lineup, I don't know. We are coming off a red-hot week, a week I shouldn't judge these guys on, but it makes me see that we do have ability to play better.... one thing I will be doing is playing around my lineups for next week. It will be interesting to see how the Millers react to the front office firings, but I would love to see this team not in last place. It would make me feel better about things here in Chadds Ford. I will say this heading into next week... Aflredo Mejia has one more start this week to prove he should be up in the bigs, if not I will have to make a move and get Mori up with us. I'd hate to DFA Mejia, so I might have to do something creative. (Salazar will be on watch as well, each will be getting 1 start this week) ![]() Standings Leaders DE Southern: Georgetown Sixteens: 22-15 (+0.5) DE Northern: New Castle Colonials: 25-13 (+0.5) MV Eastern: Annapolis Admirals: 28-10 (+6.5) MV Western: Norfolk Cavaliers: 32-6 (+9.0) Players of the Week: Delaware: Sergio Galvez, New Castle Colonials, 10-19, HR, 5 RBI's MarVa: Bob Short, Norfolk Cavaliers, 14-26, 3 HR's, 9 RBI's, 6 R's Power Rankings: 1) Norfolk Cavaliers (167.6) 2) Annapolis Admirals (137.6) 3) New Castle Colonials (128.4) 4) Milford Clippers (115.8) 5) Georgetown Sixteens (113.0) News: Washington Senators: Last years MVP in the MarVa Conference is at it again. Seaford Blue Jays: OF Alfredo Rodriguez saw his hitting streak come to an end at 22 games. Wilmington Iron Pigs: Lost OF Roberto Alvarez for 4-5 weeks with a torn abdominal muscle. Newark Millers: Fired GM Mathew Black. Black took over the GM slot in 2019 leading the Millers to 1 playoff birth and 5 2nd place finishes. However the 12-25 record this year was his end. Newark Millers: Fired Manger Perry Wolf, as well. Wolf took over the team last season and lead them to a 2nd place finish. Wolf was the PC in Chesapeake from 2013-2026, signed on as the Millers manager last season, and 27 games into this year was let go. It was a busy week on the trade wire... New Castle Colonials: Acquired 2B Ivan Sanchez (.276/.351/.515, 7 HR) from the Ellicott City Express for MR Michael Meagher (0-0, 1 SV, 5.12 ERA) and minor leaguer C Javier Ramirez (AAA). Cornett was the "best" defensive catcher who was a free-agent out there. I will get him some AB's and see how it goes. Injuries: OF Jamie Villareal, fractured hand, 3-4 weeks SP Yoshtoki Mori, Rehab Assignment to AAA / 8 days left 5 GS (1-2), 27.1.0 IP, 29 H, 12 ER, 4 BB, 16 K, 3.95 ERA Other/Roster News: none GM Notes: I have these two vets on my team, Vance Burns (.261-5-17) and Woody Brown (.293-12-26), who are playing really well right now. So that has lead to me start thinking. Do I trade them? I am not sure. I like having some vets that can hit, but if I can trade them and get something worthwhile in the end doesn't it make sense to do that? Jesus Salazar, my only starter with an option, will be sent down to AAA after his next start. Sanchez will head to San Juan and Yoshtoki Mori will be put in his slot in the rotation. Mori will get his chance to prove he still has something left... and depending on how he does, I will try to trade him or will waive him. We will see how that goes. I have a feeling it will be a nice addition to our weak rotation. Looking at our stats, our biggest problem has been getting on base, as we are 12th in the league (aka last) in on-base PCT. I thought it was because we weren't stealing bases (6th) like I thought we would, but really its getting on base. I think, if we could get more runners on base, even if we continue to hit .242 we would score more runs. Right? We have 7, yes 7, starters with an OBP under .300. I am going to mix the lineup some more and see if someone can't get hot. Maybe they just need right "protection". Overall I am happy with this team. I really didn't know what to expect a bunch of young kids, not overly talented kids, and they have come together and really impressed me. We actually are lot more "well rounded" than I figured we would. We have holes, many of them, but for an expansion team we should be happy with our performance so far through the first 43 games ![]() Standings Leaders DE Southern: Georgetown Sixteens: 27-16 (+1.5) DE Northern: Milford Clippes: 29-15 (+0.5) MV Eastern: Annapolis Admirals: 34-10 (+9.5) MV Western: Norfolk Cavaliers: 38-6 (+10.5) Players of the Week: Delaware: Jiong Wu, Lewes Braves, 7-19, 4 HR's, 7 RBI's MarVa: Juan Garcia, Annapolis Admirals, 10-22, 5 HR's, 14 RBI's Power Rankings: 1) Norfolk Cavaliers (179.5) 2) Annapolis Admirals (154.1) 3) New Castle Colonials (124.2) 4) Milford Clippers (121.6) 5) Ellicott City Express (118.0) News: Norfolk Cavaliers: Finished the week on a 14 game winning steak. The crazy thing is no one wants to deal with me. I am trying to trade anyone just to see if I can garner a little interest, but nada. I have even dropped in my first round and second round picks just to get someone to start talking.
Prospects or vets, just nothing. I am hoping that after the draft and maybe as the trade deadline things will change, but right now I am really stuck. That being said I haven't tried to trade Woody Brown yet and he may be my biggest asset. I will have to test the waters and check the interest levels. Never had this problem before.

Salazar is 4-2 4.45 in 8 starts and will be called on as soon as someone is needed up with the big club. GM Notes: Well Mori didn't do well at all. I am going to give him one more shot to prove to me he is capable and then either I will try to trade him or DFA him. At this point I am paying him for this year and next, but he can't be on the big league roster if he isn't capable anymore. We will see. It was a tough choice sending Salazar down to AAA especially after his start to kick off the week. I just hope he won't be mad at me when I call him up... I am shocked at how poorly our defense is. Everyone in the field has an above average defense rating with solid range, but we just can't put it together. So that tells me my scout, Mike Markey, might not be trustable. His contract ends at the end of this season so I will have some thinking to do. I tried to move Burns this week, but had no luck. Even after he had probably his best week of the season. He is a free-agent at the year end, so it would make sense for me to move him for something. Maybe not the best player around, but there has to be someone out there willing to take a chance on him. He is putting up solid numbers, and is a great defender. I am actually surprised there is no market for him. Burns would make a great #3 or 4 outfielder for a contender, but for now he is ours. We finish May/Start June with 10 straight games on the road before our next day off. I would like to finish the month strong. So far its been a fun season and I think we should be able to continue this. The question, however, is how will we be next year or in 2-3 years from now. We could finish 4th this season and if we hit rock-bottom next year, does that make this year a success? I think I am getting a little too "excited" about not finishing dead last and not focusing on what really matters the future. ![]() Standings Leaders DE Southern: Georgetown Sixteens: 30-20 (+1.0) DE Northern: Milford Clippers: 33-18 (+1.0) MV Eastern: Annapolis Admirals: 38-12 (+9.0) MV Western: Norfolk Cavaliers: 44-7 (+13) Players of the Week: Delaware: Kevin Barber, Georgetown Sixteens, 12-33, 3 HR's, 8 RBI's MarVa: Ricardo Hidalgo, Washington Senators, 14-31, 5 HR's, 12 RBI's Power Rankings: 1) Norfolk Cavaliers (165.3) 2) Annapolis Admirals (140.8) 3) New Castle Colonials (118.9) 4) Milford Clippers (116.5) 5) Ellicott City Express (115.2) News: Seaford Blue Jays: Lost SP Ryan Gross for 5-6 months with shoulder inflammation. Christiana Blue Hens: Will be without 2B Joey Bradley for 5 weeks with a partially torn labrum. Bradley was hitting .258-1-16 on the year. Standings & Players of the Month - May 2030
Delaware Conference
DE Conf's #1 Batter Announced: The Delaware Conference has selected its Hitter of the Month for May and the honor went to Blake Quirke, Georgetown's fine center fielder. Quirke was selected after batting .424, hitting 4 home runs, scoring 21 runs and driving in 20. This season Quirke is batting .325 with 62 hits and 6 home runs. He has scored 35 times and has 25 runs batted in. Sixteens Hurler Named DE Conf's Best Starter: Despite the number of years he's been in the league, Ricardo González still gets excited when he puts together a quality stretch like he had in May. The 27-year-old starter for Georgetown was named Delaware Conference Pitcher of the Month earlier today. He collected 4 wins and no losses with 59 strikeouts in his 5 starts, putting up a fine 0.00 ERA in 39.2 innings of work. So far this year González has a 7-2 record with a 0.98 ERA. May's Top DE Conf Rookie Named: It was an exceptional month, especially for rookie Juan Taváres. The right fielder for the Cape May Beacons performed like a veteran and was named the best newcomer in the Delaware Conference. He captured the honor by hitting .323 in 27 games with 30 hits, 3 home runs and 10 RBIs. So far this year in 53 games Taváres is hitting .280 with 7 home runs, 19 RBIs and 27 runs scored. MarVa Conference Jimmy Moore Named Best MV Conf Batter in May: Jimmy Moore was at the top of the hit parade in the MarVa Conference throughout May. For the outstanding month, the talented Annapolis first baseman was chosen the Batter of the Month. He compiled a .355 average with 39 hits, 12 home runs, 30 RBIs and 30 runs scored. For the season Moore is currently batting .346 with 25 home runs and 57 RBIs. In 55 games he has reached base at a .433 rate and scored 53 runs to date. Washington's Brock Chosen May's Best in MV Conf: It was a very good month for Shawn Brock in May. The 36-year-old veteran starter for the Washington Senators outpitched everybody -- young and old -- to claim the MarVa Conference Pitcher of the Month award earlier today. Brock ran up a 5-1 record in his 6 starts during the month. In 44.2 innings he fanned 23 and recorded a 2.01 ERA. So far this year Brock has 9 wins and 2 losses and a 3.06 ERA. Top MarVa Conference Newcomer Named: Gerald Burt earned top rookie honors in the MarVa Conference with a solid performance last month. In May the Richmond right fielder posted a .316 average while racking up 24 hits, 5 home runs and 12 RBIs. This year Burt is hitting .311 with 7 home runs and 20 RBIs in 31 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .407 with 14 walks and 16 runs scored.

2030 1st Year Player Draft
DBL News: First-Year Player Draft: Lost in all the hoopla of today's amateur draft are the young men who won't be going first, tenth or even fiftieth. Many of them will probably never make DELMARVA Baseball League rosters, but one and all will be spurred on by the possibility that someday they'll be playing on a championship club. Cape May, King George, Chadds Ford, Martinsburg and Richmond will have the first five choices. Here is a look at the top first 10 picks in the 1st Year Player Draft:
Pick 1 - Cape May Beacons: RF José Aguilar, age 22, out of college (Georgia; Athens, GA) "Looks like a future starter to me, with star potential" Con: 5/7, Power: 9/14, Eye: 8/13 - 1 out of 3 stars Pick 2 - King George Royals: SS Ryan Hunt, age 21, out of college (Cal State-Dominguez Hills; Carson, CA) "Hunt has some impact tools. He's still learning to translate his tools into performance, but when he does watch out" Con: 9/15, Power: 8/15, Eye: 8/13 - 3 out of 5 stars Pick 3 - Chadds Ford Cannons: 3B Dragoljub Karadzic, age 20, out of college (Wichita State; Wichita, KS) "Love this kid's tools, and I think he'll learn how to use them. Could be a star" Con: 8/11, Power: 5/11, Eye: 6/10 - 1 out of 4 1/2 stars Pick 4 - Martinsburg Mountaineers: SS Brian Battle, age 19, out of high school (Chandler; Chandler, AZ) "True impact potential -- could be a superstar if he figures it all out" Con: 6/14, Power: 3/13, Eye: 6/12 - 1 out of 5 stars Pick 5 - Richmond Cardinals: SP Alfonso Andrade, age 21, out of college (Tennessee; Knoxville, TN) "Looks like your prototypical mid-rotation workhorse. Should be a solid option as a number 3 starter for years to come." Stuff: 8/14, Movement: 15/16, Control: 3/7 - 1 out of 3 stars Pick 6 - Annapolis Admirals: SP Sam Marsh, age 18, out of high school (North; Akron, OH) "If his repertoire develops as everyone expects, he's going to be a front-of-the-rotation starter for years to come." Stuff: 7/13, Movement: 12/15, Control: 1/10 - 1/2 out of 4 stars Pick 7 - Seaford Blue Jays: SP Bill Daniel, age 17, out of high school (Black River Falls; Black River Falls, WI) "You can tell he knows how to pitch. Uses his entire repertoire effectively, with consistent above-average stuff." Stuff: 6/12, Movement: 11/13, Control: 1/6 - 1/2 out of 2 stars Pick 8 - Baltimore Barons: C Stan Dunn, age 20, out of college (Butler; Indianapolis, IN) "Dunn has plus raw power and has the chance to be a run producer" Con: 7/11, Power: 4/13, Eye: 5/10 - 1 out of 4 1/2 stars Pick 9 - Lewes Braves: C Peter Moore, age 23, out of college (Illinois-Chicago; Chicago, IL) "Some scouts are predicting big things for Moore" Con: 8/11, Power: 8/11, Eye: 7/10 - 1 out of 3 stars Pick 10 - Milford Clippers: SP Tim Lynch, age 20, out of college (Miami (FL); Miami, FL) "You can tell he knows how to pitch. Hits the corners with relative ease" Stuff: 7/12, Movement: 10/12, Control: 5/11 - 1/2 out of 4 stars ![]() Where are they know? A look back at the past 5 #1 picks and how they are doing in the DBL. 2025 - Mike Johnson (OF), Milton Brewers, U of Miami Debut: 2025 Current Team: Milton Brewers Awards: Newcomer of the Year: 2026; Glove Wizard CF: 2026, 2027; All-Star: 2027, 2029; Platinum Stick Award: 2029 Career: .279-115-354 (635 G) 2026 - Allen Graves (1B), Richmond Cardinals, Lehigh U Debut: 2028 Current Team: Richmond Cardinals Career: .261-35-103 (222 G) 2027 - Stephen Bentall (SS), Annapolis Admirals, St Norbert College Debut: 2028 Current Team: Georgetown Sixteens Career: .282-38-162 (341 G) 2028 - Dennis MacPherson (SP), Baltimore Barons, Wichita State U. Did not sign in 2028, Rentered the Draft in 2029, 1st Round, 12th pick overall, New Castle Colonials Debut: ETA 2033 Current Team: Miami Beach Flamingos (AA / New Castle Colonials) Stats: (AA) 1-3 5.26, 8 GS 2029 - Roy Okumura (OF), Richmond Cardinals, Farleigh Dickinson College Debut: ETA 2031 Current Team: Cleveland Lakers (AA / Richmond Cardinals) Awards: #29 Prospect in 2030 top 100 Stats: (AA) .288-14-40 ![]() Overall I feel like we did ok in this draft. We concentrated on position players, but that was more of the draft-pools doing than anything. If we can get our #1 and #2 signed I will be happy with the outcome of this draft. Drafted 3B Dragoljub Karadzic (Wichita State) in the 2030 first-year player draft (Round 1, Pick 3, 3rd overall pick). Demands: $1,400,000; Offer: $1,400,000 (Extremely Hard) I have faith we will come to terms with Dragoljub and he will soon be our everyday 3B. He isn't overly developed, but if he continues to work hard he could make it up to the bigs sooner than later. One of the reasons I drafted him (against my scouts recommendation) was because he was rated as highly intelligent and having a high work ethic. Con: 8/11, Pow: 5/11, Eye: 6/10 Drafted 3B Eugene Todd (HS) in the 2030 first-year player draft (Round 2, Pick 3, 31st overall pick). Demands: $800,000; Offer: $690,000 (Very Easy) I went with my scouts recommendation here. I looked around and I had to agree with him Todd was the best available. Markey says "it is easy to dream on this kid. Makes the game look easy, and should have a long career ahead"... and I have to agree with him. Con: 7/12, Pow: 5/13, Eye: 6/13 Drafted C Leo Fountain (Arizona U.) in the 2030 first-year player draft (Round 3, Pick 3, 57th overall pick). Demands: $370,000; Offer: $350,000 (Extremely Hard) A highly rated defenisved catcher, I would be almost tempted to throw him on the active roster right now. Might of been a risk to take him in the 3rd round, but I fell for his defensive abilities. Our scout see's him as a 15 HR/YR type of kid. Con: 4/6, Pow: 5/8, Eye: 7/12 Drafted SS Jaime Ojeda (Georgia Tech) in the 2030 first-year player draft (Round 4, Pick 3, 83rd overall pick). Demands: $330,000; Offer: $330,000 (Extremely Hard) Jamie will be in the bigs one day. He has skills at multiple posistions, he is fast and according to Markey he projects to be an above-average contact hitter. A lot to like with him. Con: 8/10, Pow: 2/2, Eye: 4/6 Drafted SP Allen Hopkins (HS) in the 2030 first-year player draft (Round 5, Pick 3, 106th overall pick). Demands: $220,000; Offer: $150,000 (Very Easy) This pick was all Markey's. I try to stay away from pitchers who have tendency to for flyballs. He should have decent stuff and decent control, but he needs some movement to make the bigs. Markey says "if he gets smarter and strong, he could have a job in the big leagues for a while". Stu: 6/10, Mov: 7/7, Con: 4/10 Drafted 2B José Rentería in the 2030 first-year player draft (Round 6, Pick 3, 130th overall pick). Rentieria will make it to the bigs if he develops. He is only 18, a decent fielder, and has speed. His bat is somewhat questionable, and Markey thinks he will hit .240-15. Could be a fringe starter. Con: 4/8, Pow: 3/8, Eye: 6/14 Drafted SS Scott Wolfe (Caltech U) in the 2030 first-year player draft (Round 7, Pick 3, 154th overall pick). Fast, with a good eye. Sounds promising to me. Long shot, but you never know. Con: 5/7, Pow: 1/3, Eye: 7/12 Drafted SP Roy Daly (Hofstra) in the 2030 first-year player draft (Round 8, Pick 3, 178th overall pick). Daly was a 10th round pick last season and after one year in college he brought his stock up to a 8th rounder. He is very intelligent and a very hard worker, which is always a plus. Stu: 6/10, Mov: 7/7, Con: 4/8 Drafted 3B Scott Robison (UC-Irvine) in the 2030 first-year player draft (Round 9, Pick 3, 202nd overall pick). Not really sure what to expect from Robison. He will get a look, but where that ends who knows. Rumor is he isn't a hard worker and he doens't have "pure" talent, so... Con: 4/7, Pow: 3/6, Eye: 6/11 Drafted CF Jimmy Clark (HS) in the 2030 first-year player draft (Round 10, Pick 3, 226th overall pick). He has showed some signs of having big-time power, which is something no other available player showed, so we went with him. Markey isn't a big fan, but I have faith he will surprise. Markey and OSA differ quite a bit on his ratings. Con: 1/3, Pow: 5/11, Eye: 1/6 Drafted SS Chris Barnes (HS) in the 2030 first-year player draft (Round 11, Pick 3, 250th overall pick). Has a decent eye, has a good eye... however plays no defense. Con: 3/7, Pow: 1/1, Eye: 6/14 Drafted SS Eric Manning (HS) in the 2030 first-year player draft (Round 12, Pick 3, 274th overall pick). Manning might be a sleeper of a pick. He hit .459-0-27 in 22 games during his Sr season. What I like the 8 K's and 10 BB's... plus he stole 23 times only getting gunned down 3. Keep an eye on this guy. Con: 5/9, Pow: 2/4, Eye: 5/12 Drafted C Thomas Inman (HS) in the 2030 first-year player draft (Round 13, Pick 3, 298th overall pick). Not much to say about Thomas Inman, outside I drafted him because (in my little world) he is the cousin of our starting 2B Tony Inman. May end up as a pitcher down the road. Con: 1/5, Pow: 1/3, Eye: 4/11 Drafted LF Ralph Green (HS) in the 2030 first-year player draft (Round 14, Pick 3, 322nd overall pick). Green is another one of those guys that may surprise. I am not sure how we got him in the 14th, but I am glad we did. A solid OF, with decent speed and could end up hitting .270 with 20-30 2B's. Wont hit many bombs, but has promise. Con: 6/10, Pow: 2/3, Eye: 5/12 Drafted CF Ernest Palmer (HS) in the 2030 first-year player draft (Round 15, Pick 3, 346th overall pick). Demands: ???; Offer: $250,000 (Impossible) There is a reason why no one wanted this kid. No one believes he wants to sign with anyone. Just testing the water. Personally I don't see him coming back to baseball if he doesn't sign... He is impossible to sign, but stranger things have happened. Con: 3/7, Pow: 1/1, Eye: 5/11

Demands: ???; Offer: $250,000 (Impossible) Transactions: RP Yo****oki Mori was designated for assignment and placed on waivers. Recalled SP Jesús Salazar from Triple A San Juan. Placed 2B Miguel Ramírez on the 11-day disabled list, retroactive to 06/02/2030. Purchased the contract of SS Manny Hernández from Triple A San Juan Injuries: OF Jamie Villareal, fractured hand, 1-2 weeks OF Vance Burns, diagnosis pending OF Dave Lewis, intercostal strain, DtD 3 Days 2B Miguel Ramirez, fractured wrist, 4-5 weeks Ramirez is out for a while, Lewis missed most of this week, and Burns is still up in the air. Was an painful week for us here. With how thin our minor leagues are I am not really sure what to do at this point. Other/Roster News: GM Notes: We started the week off on a high note, beating one of the games best pitchers, Julio Rocha, in his home park. But then things started to unravel some. As we lost the next game in extra's and then just got out played the rest of the series... really the whole week just went down hill. The bullpen had issues, getting tired maybe(?), and our defense forgot how to field the ball committing 10 errors in 7 games... as the GM who thought our defense was going to rock-solid and our bullpen was above average this was a hard week to take. Mori might be coming back up soon to take over bullpen duties for Heathcote. I liked Heathcote when I was in Norfolk, and was disappointed when I traded him away. It was an accident, I meant to trade someone else... so getting him here in Chadds Ford I thought I was lucky. He past 2 games however is telling me maybe he is losing his edge. His line over those 2 games: 0.1 IP, 8 H, 8 R, 4 ER, 10 BF. He is on a thin ice, as far as having a roster slot. With injuries starting to add-up I will have to figure out what my plan moving forward is. I hope that Burns isn't out long and I am going to try to trade him. There has to be a buyer right? Brown is on the block too. I don't really want to trade Brown unless I get something solid in return. Right now we are hurting for starting pitching. With Mori taking a huge hit with his stamina (dropping down to 3) he is no longer a viable option. Salazar will be heading back up. I keep watching the waiver wire for a player to pop up that I might be interested in, but then I think do I really need a vet? Don't I want some youth on this squad and build up from there? My bench coach Jorge Rosa contacted me and says I need to find another leader, a captain to run the club-house. The team, because of our record, is starting to suffer from morale issues... I am hoping they understand that we are an expansion team picked to lose over 100 games and right now we are 4th place, playing better than 2 non-expansion clubs. They should be happy with our record... How can I make them enjoy the ride! I have my hands full here in Chadds Ford... ![]() Standings Leaders DE Southern: Georgetown Sixteens: 34-23 (+2.0) DE Northern: Milford Clippers: 38-20 (+1.0) MV Eastern: Annapolis Admirals: 41-16 (+10.0) MV Western: Norfolk Cavaliers: 49-9 (+14) Players of the Week: Delaware: Mike Johnson, Milton Brewers, 14-30, 3 HR's, 9 RBI's MarVa: Shumei Ishikawa, Washington Senators, 9-21, 5 HR's, 10 RBI's Power Rankings: 1) Norfolk Cavaliers (159.1) 2) Annapolis Admirals (125.5) 3) Milford Clippers (121.9) 4) New Castle Colonials (120.7) 5) Ellicott City Express (111.3) News: Annapolis Admirals: OF Lucio Pena had his hitting streaked stopped by the Norfolk Cavaliers at 20 games. Get some younger guys up right? This includes bringing up Martin Adams who is the teams #14th prospect. GM Notes: I went all in this year to try to develop a semi-competitive team. I wanted to collect some W's and compete. I knew we weren't going to finish #1, but I had this illusion that we would be able to compete and stay fresh and build off of that for next season. However, part of me just realized that I may be going at this all wrong. Wouldn't it be better just to tank this season, get the #1 pick next year and just develop based on that? I think its too late just to tank this season, then again we only have 10 more wins than the Mountaineers who have the worst record in the game. Our defensive woes continue... with 5 errors in the 3-game set against the Cavaliers, then 3 in the first 2 games against the Pigs, and finally 0 in the last game of the week! UGH. Didn't I say I was going to pride myself on building this team up defensively? Even the guys I am bringing up to take over for the injured have some kind of defensive ability. Outside of all our woes this team still continues to show fight. As young as this team is we continue to play hard an contend. We played 3 2-1 ball games this week, which goes to show that we have some talent here and there to keep games close and the final 2 in our pen have just been lights out. I am hoping to keep Ho and Kessler around for a long time. If I could add one more lights out type, for the 7th inning then I wouldn't need pitchers to go overly deep into games. Maybe our #5 prospect Matt Noble will be up for the task. I am going to look around and might be trying to pull off a deal, get rid of Woody Brown. I might of missed my prime opportunity to trade him when he was hitting over .300, but I am guessing there will be some interest in him. I am just going to wait till he warms up a bit. Happy with signing our top 2 picks and would like to get Ojeda sold on coming here too. I really have a feeling that Dragoljub is going to be a great player... I may have to give him a nickname, it is going to be a PITA to keep typing his name out. ![]() Standings Leaders DE Southern: Georgetown Sixteens: 36-27 (+2.0) DE Northern: New Castle Colonials: 42-20 (+3.0) MV Eastern: Annapolis Admirals: 45-18 (+10.0) MV Western: Norfolk Cavaliers: 55-9 (+17) Players of the Week: Delaware: Cris Flores, New Castle Colonials, 10-25, 2 HR's, 8 RBI's MarVa: Allen Graves, Richmond Cardinals, 9-21, 4 HR's, 8 RBI's Power Rankings: 1) Norfolk Cavaliers (171.1) 2) New Castle Colonials (135.9) 3) Annapolis Admirals (132.6) 4) Milford Clippers (111.5) 5) Ellicott City Express (106.4) News: Ocean City Tourists: Catcher Pedro Cantu hit for the cycle in a 11-5 victory over the Sixteens. Traded RP Yoshtoki Mori Acquired RP Dan Wilkinson placed on the 40-man roster / active roster. Traded 34-year-old reliever Yo****oki Mori, 24-year-old minor league center fielder Nicholas Lee, 24-year-old minor league third baseman Greg Dull and a 6th round draft pick to the King George Royals, getting 24-year-old minor league reliever Jesús Jiménez, 28-year-old closer Dan Wilkinson, 25-year-old minor league reliever Steve Adams and a 5th round draft pick in return. There are 3 things I like about this trade a) Mori is gone. b) We got Wilkinson and he fits the bill for my bullpen 7th-8th-9th lockdown trio. c) We moved up in the draft trading our 6th and getting a 5th. The one thing I don't like about this trade is saying goodbye to Greg Dull. Dull according to my scout is going to be a decent big-leaguer, however OSA says stay away. Time will tell, but it was hard to let him go. Injuries: OF Vance Burns, hamstring strain, 2 weeks 2B Miguel Ramirez, fractured wrist, 2-3 weeks OF Chance Boone, sprained ankle, 1-2 weeks OF Jamie Villareal, AAA, Rehab Assignment (4 G, .235-0-4) Other/Roster News: none GM Notes: I have been doing a lot of thinking and I am going to try to get as many young guys playing time as possible. Try to see who can cut it up here. That will help me in the off-season, so I can plan on where to go. One thing I need to focus the most on is tightening up this defense. With the injuries I have a few guys playing out of spot, but over all we should be playing much better. I wonder if its the losing and the guys just not trying hard, or if they are just overrated... I did have one player mention he wasn't happy because he thought there were too many slackers on this team. Hmm... I am happy trading Mori away, as he was causing issues on my roster. He didn't get claimed on waivers and he refused to be demoted. Maybe I didn't give him enough of a chance, but I did just save a couple of million. He is due 3M next year. So yes I took a minor hit, but overall it was a wash and I moved up in the draft... Now to get Burns and Brown (at least Burns) out of here. I do have my hands full here in Chadds Ford. The owner's attitude about money is going to make it hard to extend some of these guys and bring in some veteran talent. I will just have to focus on developing youth, signing some young guys who could surprise and draft wisely. I am also going to change my scouts funding for next year so he makes more international trips. This was a rough week in a way because we only won 1 game and got shut-out 2 times. We have been doing a good job not getting shut-out but this month things seem to have changed. I want to be competitive, yet someone end up with a top 3 pick in next years draft. If you have noticed I am torn about trying to finish as best as I can and just tanking the season. I think the wise thing would be to get some youth and build around them. Drago is the start to building this offense up, I just need more... but if people are afraid to deal with me then where does that leave me? ![]() Standings Leaders DE Southern: Georgetown Sixteens: 39-31 (+0.5) DE Northern: New Castle Colonials: 47-22 (+5.5) MV Eastern: Annapolis Admirals: 48-21 (+10.5) MV Western: Norfolk Cavaliers: 60-10 (+17.5) Players of the Week: Delaware: Mario Ramos, Dover Generals, 8-18, 4 HR, 8 RBIs MarVa: Alonso Sierra, Ellicott City Express, 12-22, 5 HR, 10 RBI's Power Rankings: 1) Norfolk Cavaliers (164.3) 2) New Castle Colonials (127.6) 3) Annapolis Admirals (126.2) 4) Ellicott City Express (114.6) 5) Milford Clippers (107.0) News: DBL: Iron Pigs C Clinton Picot, Express C Alonso Sierra and Blue Hens RF Jose Montoya all had 5-hit games this week. He dropped off from being "very happy" and is only "happy". Here we are not fulfilling his "dont suck completely" goal, yet we are still predicted to bring in $26M+. I wonder how much of that he will invest into this team... my guess? Some place to close to $0. I also got a letter this week from Woody Brown, the best vet on this team, and he announced what I was waiting for... "I don't like losing. I am not happy. Trade me."... He knows I have been trying. A decent 1B making barley anything ($3.2M) hitting .251-15-37... he is a bargain! I will continue to shop and talk to other GM's, but I have had issues getting rid of my vets. Look what it took to finally get rid of Mori. I haven't had any luck moving Brown, seems like I am overvaluing him and everyone else has undervaluing him. I will continue to attempt to move him, but for now he is my 1B. I didn't want to jinx Dan Kessler who has been lights out and really unstoppable, but that ended this week when he gave up 3 runs in 0.2 innings. Going in that game Kessler had given up 1 run in 30 innings for a 0.31 ERA. Now his ERA is 1.17, which is still rock solid, but what a run he had. Giving up his first ER since April 11th, two months and 12 days. I am not sure if Vincent Harrison wants to stay around, but I'd like to keep him around. On the season he is hitting .272-4-30 with 11 steals. I need him to be my 2B as he continues to struggle playing short. But I think the 26-yr-old would be a good addition to the long term plan of this team. Especially on a team that continues to struggle on the offensive side of the plate. First round pick Drago Karadzic is hitting the ball really well in A-Ball. If he continues this pace I will think about moving him up to AA sometime after the All-Star break. Currently he is hitting .333-2-14. The downfall? 19 K's and 5 BB's in 59 PA's. But his BABIP is .485 and that isn't half bad at all. According to the power rankings, now that we fell to 21, the 4 expansion teams are the weakest in the league... it was a fun ride hanging in there with the big guys, but I am thinking that is over for this year. I just don't want to finish last (or do I?). ![]() Standings Leaders DE Southern: Milton Brewers: 43-32 (+0.5) DE Northern: New Castle Colonials: 50-25 (+3.5) MV Eastern: Annapolis Admirals: 53-22 (+13) MV Western: Norfolk Cavaliers: 64-12 (+17) Players of the Week: Delaware: Doug Dook, Milford Clippers, 10-21, 5 HR's, 11 RBI's, 8 R's MarVa: Raul Hernandez, Salisbury Ports, 8-22, 4 HR's, 11 RBI's Power Rankings: 1) Norfolk Cavaliers (154.6) 2) Annapolis Admirals (132.2) 3) New Castle Colonials (123.0) 4) Ellicott City Express (116.3) 5) Milford Clippers (112.3) News: Washington Senators: OF Don Hamilton is going to miss 6 weeks with an oblique strain. To take his slot in the rotation I am going with Juan Fernandez. However since Fernandez isn't ready to go yet, Alberto Sanchez took his place this week. I don't expect much from Fernandez, but I do hope he eats some innings. That will be the most important thing right now. GM Notes: Our pitching was carrying us for a long while and now they are slowly not getting the job done. Lazzaro and Angel seem to be my top 2 pitchers and I am guessing in the long run they are more like #3 & 4's or 4 & 5's. Neither one of them is going to be an ace. I doubt I will ever have the money to sign an ace, so I will have to figure out how to trade for one or draft for one. The fact that I have been constantly struggling with making trade doesn't bode well for the trade idea. The international kids hit the market today and there looks to be some really solid talent... I had a talk with our owner and he gave me about $500,000 to spend. Not much out there for that price, but I will continue to look. Working for a penny pincher isn't the funnest thing around. We are set to bring him in over $25M and I am pretty sure I won't see any of that re-invested into this team. I would like to deal away Woody Brown, so I can put the young guys in the lineup and ride them out the rest of the way. The 1/2 report from the owner didn't come back very positive, but our hands are really tied when we have nothing to trade and no money to spend. And if we are going to stink it up, or as our owner says 'suck', then shouldn't it be with the young guys and not t he vets? I would also like to build the lineup around defense (again). I think I fell away from that when some of the hitters started to get hot. An example would be, Vincent Harrison, who is one of my hottest hitters, and he seems to be much more comfortable since I moved him over to 2B and away from SS. Hopefully this will be the start of something special with the defense. I need that (or want) that Def Eff to be over .700 by the end of the season. For the first time this season I feel like my job might be in question for 2031. I just hope that the owner sees that we are building something even if he doesn't believe I am hitting of his crazy goals. Its only season one. ![]() Standings Leaders DE Southern: Milton Brewers: 43-32 (+0.5) DE Northern: New Castle Colonials: 50-25 (+3.5) MV Eastern: Annapolis Admirals: 53-22 (+13) MV Western: Norfolk Cavaliers: 64-12 (+17) Players of the Week: Delaware: Jorge Trujillo, New Castle Colonials, 12-31, 4 HR's, 7 RBI's MarVa: Jimmy Moore, Annapolis Admirals, 11-24, 4 HR's, 7 RBI's Power Rankings: 1) Norfolk Cavaliers (146.1) 2) Annapolis Admirals (127.4) 3) New Castle Colonials (126.7) 4) Milford Clippers (115.0) 5) Ellicott City Express (106.6) News: Milton Brewers: Lost star OF Mike Johnson for 5-6 weeks with a strained hamstring. Mid-season Review of Goals
Personal Message from Owner Ralph Corbin: Mid-season Review of Goals: Tony,
I have reviewed the goals I have set out for you. My comments are below. Team Record: I told you that I wanted you to "Don't suck completely." What part of that did you not understand? Increase Profit: We seem to be right on track to completing this goal. Keep watching the financials, and make sure the team doesn't slip on the field, and I'll be a very happy camper. Find a top prospect: I'm not sold on Carl Oulton's future. He's certainly not a bad prospect, but I think you can do a better job at finding a top prospect. Build your farm: I have to say, I'm not too thrilled about our current prospect pool. I know I gave you some time to complete this task, but it definitely looks like you need to put in a little bit more effort to improve our pool. I am happy with your performance in accomplishing the goals I had set out for you. I feel similarly about your handling of the team's on-field and front office management. The final evaluation towards these goals will come at the end of the season. Good luck in the second half! Ralph Corbin My Rebuttal: Its funny that he complains about our prospect pool and our top prospect, but when we have a chance to build that up in the Int'l free-agent market he isn't willing to give. Seems like Ralph has a lot of me-me-me going on here... I am shocked how our record has fallen over the past month, but we really aren't that good of a team. I felt like we should win 70 games, but the way we played in June I am starting to question that. Expiring Personnel Contract Info We had six coaches coming up on the end of their deals with Chadds Ford and we were able to resign all of them. I have elected not to offer Bob Rogers an extension and will be looking for a new assistant this off-season. Scouting Director M. Markey (Chadds Ford) Assistant GM B. Rogers (Chadds Ford) Manager E. West (San Juan) Hitting Coach C. Kennedy (San Juan) Manager T. Olson (Pierre) Pitching Coach D. Bryant (Tulsa)

June 2030 - In Review
Delaware Conference
Delaware Conference Announces June's Best Batter: Jorge Trujillo battered Delaware Conference pitchers all June and wound up taking home the Batter of the Month Award. "I've been around DELMARVA Baseball League long enough to know you really have to work hard day in and day out to be able to put up this kind of consistency," the 27-year-old Trujillo told reporters. "I put in a lot of work, even on the days I might not take the field, and it's always nice when everything comes together for me like it did this last month." In 28 games, Trujillo hit .383 with 9 home runs, 23 RBIs and scored 22 runs. This season Trujillo is batting .287 with 18 home runs. He has scored 65 runs and driven in 42. Powers Earns DEConf Top Pitcher Trophy: Jimmy Powers hasn't been around the big leagues long enough to know that youngsters shouldn't be winning Delaware Conference Pitcher of the Month. But when you put up numbers like his, you're going to get some notice. In June the New Castle starter earned a 5-0 mark in 6 starts. He threw 45 innings, struck out 28 and compiled a solid 2.00 ERA. In season stats Powers shows a 9-6 record in 17 games, 111.1 innings, 66 strikeouts and a 3.80 ERA. DEConf Selects Rookie Star of the Month: Youngster Steve Kelly emerged as the latest Delaware Conference Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Lewes deserved the honor, batting .333 with 4 home runs and 14 runs batted in. Is the month of June a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Kelly enjoy the limelight. This year Kelly has hit at a .275 pace and produced 17 RBIs, 4 home runs and scored 16 runs. MarVa Conference MVConf Best Hitter Trophy Goes to Kelly: Ira Kelly couldn't stop smiling during the month of June. That's because he simply couldn't stop hitting and his performance vaulted him to honors as the MarVa Conference Batter of the Month. The Virginia Beach first baseman hit .347 with 10 home runs, 27 RBIs and 23 runs scored. For the year Kelly is batting .258 with 21 home runs, 66 RBIs and 54 runs scored. Norfolk's Kennedy MVConf Top Pitcher: Ernie Kennedy has made fans throughout DELMARVA Baseball League take notice over the past month with an exceptional 4-0 record. No pitcher in the MarVa Conference threw better in June, garnering him the Pitcher of the Month award today. In 5 starts Kennedy compiled a 1.95 ERA, putting up a 4-0 record, striking out 39 and tossing 37 innings. This season Kennedy has compiled a 11-1 mark with a 2.59 ERA. MarVa Conference Names Rookie of Month: Washington's Rafael Piedade collected 32 hits to snare the MarVa Conference Rookie of the Month for June. He batted .372 with 1 home run, 7 RBIs and 15 runs scored. The 19-year-old is barely old enough to shave, but he could definitely contend for Rookie of the Year if he keeps up this pace. Currently Piedade has 1 home run and a .391 batting average. Here is a look at the June Award Winners and the Standings as of July 1st 2030:

A Quick Look - Cavaliers Rotation
I keep looking at the two teams that I previously was the GM for. And I am to see that both teams are in playoff contention. However it makes me feel good to see the Norfolk Cavaliers still going strong. Well, truth be told, I am sort of NOT happy they are still going strong, since I would like to see another team come out of this division at some point. (teaser: changes coming in 2030?)... but here they are just tearing up the league and a lot of it has to do with the starting rotation. This is a rotation that I put together before I left Norfolk for Georgetown... Funny thing is not one of them is home-grown and I had to give up quite a bit to get them. But in the end they are all All-Stars and all of them could end up taking home the Golden Arm Award.
Joaquin Hernandez: 17 GS, 9-2 1.79, 4.7 WAR I traded for Hernandez. I brought him in from the New Castle Colonials, but I did give up quite a bit: Wally Lambert, Ramon Granados and current All-Star Jorge Trujillo. Ernie Kennedy: 16 GS, 11-1 2.59, 3.8 WAR I acquired Kennedy from the Ellicott City Express in a real 'steal' of a deal. Giving up Henry Hamer and closer Luis Martinez, plus some other minor leaguers. Hamer and Martinez each had one solid year in EC before injuries and slumps took their toll. Paul Brown: 17 GS, 10-2 2.54, 3.4 WAR I got Paul Brown from the Georgetown Sixteens in a huge deal. I dealt away one of the franchise faces Pablo Freitas and a SP Joe Gould. In the end Brown had made the Norfolk fans forget about the oft-injuried Freitas, but I took some heat when this deal was originally made in 2017. Cornell Pearson: 16 GS, 8-2 2.41, 2.6 WAR I "took" Pearson from the Seaford Blue Jays in a big deal. I gave away one of the games best hitters, Francisco Reyes, and top SP Tommy Rutlege, a solid utility man Maik Wassink and a 5th rounder. I did get decent players in return, along with Pearson, Pat Hall and Ron Adler. A true blockbuster. Lanny Reese: 16 GS, 10-3 2.82, 2.4 WAR Lanny was one of the last moves I made before heading to Georgetown. I used the emergence of Edgardo Perdnard as a stepping stone to steal Reese from the deep Christiana Blue Hens. Along with Perdnard was SP Sergio Santana, who turned into a 10-game winner, and a 10th round pick. Reese has the makings to be a long-time #1 or 2 with this team. The bullpen still has some familiar faces, such as Miguel Angel Gonzalez (21 SV, 1.69 ERA), Eric Helton (3-3 1.80), Teo Ha (1-0 2.58) and Carlos Coronado (2-0 5.40)... Looking at this team it makes me feel good about the job I did while in Norfolk. I have been gone 3 seasons and they are still firing on all cylinders with many of the players I brought here. Just thought it was interesting to see how dominate this rotation is and they still have, possibly, one more season together. Brown and Pearson will be free-agents at the end of 2031.

Crazy to think we just finished the week 6-1, probably our best week of the season. This team is pretty solid when we are firing on all cylinders. I have done everything I know to get Woody Brown traded, but am having no luck. I went to teams with injury woes, teams with weak 1B and/or 3B. I have been willing to take very little from a 2 1/2 star prospect to a 10th round draft pick. And no one wants to deal. I know have 3 vets that I want to dump and no teams showing any interest. Just makes no sense, it wasn't this hard in the past... and I have trade away worse for much more... I even tried to trade for King Brock who is in AAA with the Wilmington Iron Pigs. I threw in one of our top-20 prospects! No dice. Burns and Brown for Brock, nothing, not even a thought. That is two major league players for an aging vet. Brown is signed for 2 more season, Burns is a FA at the end of this year. Not sure what else to do with these 2 guys. We head into the All-Star break on a hot streak, it was a strong finish to our first half of our first season. Now I will take some time and look over the roster and see what changes should be made. I would love to pull off a deal with Burns, Brown and/or Daniels. I just feel they have something to offer another team. One thing I do need to find is some team leaders, right now I hvae Dave Lewis, but that doesn't to be enough. Looking over players moods it seems like not only is "performance" and "team record" bumming people out, but so is "team chemsitry". Maybe that is because we aren't winning and everyone is upset... wouldn't it be nice to get a team clown (ie Roger McDowell type) to lighten the clubhouse enviornment. If we continue playing .400 ball the rest of the way we will end up winning around 65 games. I would be happy with that, but I do know we still have a long way to go. Next season will probably be another rough year. I just have to hope we can build this team up and in 4 seasons be able to compete. Dargo Karadzic, our #1 pick, is playing some solid ball for us down in single-A. So far in 29 games he is hitting .255-2-15. He is still striking out 1/3 of the time, with a solid .400 BABIP. He may end up seeing some time in AA before the season is over and will have a legit shot at making the big club next season... I still need some pitching. ![]() Standings Leaders DE Southern: Milton Brewers: 49-39 (+0.5) DE Northern: New Castle Colonials: 60-29 (+6.0) MV Eastern: Annapolis Admirals: 58-29 (+11.5) MV Western: Norfolk Cavaliers: 72-17 (+20) Players of the Week: Delaware: Roberto Alvarez, Wilmington Iron Pigs, 15-33, 4 HR's, 14 RBI's MarVa: Paul Perkins, Norfolk Cavaliers, 18-30, 3 HR's, 17 RBI's, 6 R's Power Rankings: 1) Norfolk Cavaliers (150.6) 2) New Castle Colonials (128.3) 3) Annapolis Admirals (119.0) 4) Milford Clippers (108.2) 5) Ellicott City Express (104.2) News: Georgetown Sixteens: OF Blake Quirke went 5-6 during, a 12-inning, 5-4 win over the Dover Generals.
