I've seen many new posters on the forum lately (welcome!, by the way), so it may be a good time to re-post an explanation of forum shorthand that several of the more frequent posters use here:

Using myself as an example, when I post a player image I always start with the player's name. In some cases I will also include a player's initial to differentiate, say, between the two players called Frank Thomas (Frank J., who played from 1951-66, or Frank E., who played from 1990-2008). I also include the player's debut year. Again in the case of Frank Thomas, a post showing Frank J. Thomas would be titled Frank J. Thomas 1951, even though the image shown in the post may be from 1965. By extension, a Bob Meusel post would include his name and debut date (1920), regardless of the year the posted image was taken. Wherever possible I also note the image year in the body of the post.

The player name / debut year combination is a common way many forum users identify and catalog players, and matches the format of the debut year version of the facepack, which organizes player images in separate folders based on the year they first appeared in a Major League game.

Many of us also use additional keywords or acronyms in our posts to help alert other users who look for specific images. Some of the more common are:

MISSING PLAYER, which indicates that the posted image shows a player included on the latest Missing Player List. Before adding a missing player to the facepack, I may ask anyone who posts a missing player image for some background information on the image so I can properly document its source.

Facepack upgrade, which indicates that the posted image is clearer or more identifiable than the current image in the facepack.

UNI, which indicates that the posted image shows the player in a uniform that is not included in the Pegasus27 batters or pitchers packs.

Alt Uni, which indicates that an image of the player in that uniform is included in a Pegasus27 pack, but some may prefer to use the posted image.

UIN, which indicates that the player/uniform combination is listed on Pegasus27's Uniforms I Need list.

I hope this helps to make sense of some of the cryptic language used on the forum, and again my thanks to everyone who shares images and helps with the projects we're working on here.
