Schmeling is Champion. I guess I have to sign him to a no-trade contract extension now.

Once again Max Schmeling has risen as ruler of the UTBA heavyweight landscape. Which heavyweight will rise up to the challenge presented by Max and turn him into the flat Uhlan.

Sorry, couldn't resist sharing that joke once I thought of it.

First of all, welcome back Scot. Second,I cannot believe that Arguello lost to Katsidis..no way that could ever happen..LOL. Third,my boy Earnie got revenge on Bruno but was no match for Langford. Still, happy to have at least one guy advance pretty far into the tourney. Congrats to all the champions and good luck to all in season two of UTBA II. Now,gotta get ready for the draft.

Roll Call...............

I need to hear from the owners who will be coming back for season 2 and who will not.

It is also time to make any rule changes before we proceed to the draft. If you have any suggestions for rule changes.......post them here and we'll discuss them and put it to a vote.

I clarified two rules on the front page as discussed here on the forum and highlighted in blue what I changed or added below. They are now the official rules unless you guys want to change them.

First change, the tie-breakers. My intent was to use total individual wins not overall team record on the first set of tie breakers. Hope the change in wording clarifies it better.

  • 2nd tie-breaker..... Most Individual KOs as a team
  • 3rd tie-breaker...... Most Individual Unanimous decisions as a team
  • 4th tie-breaker...... Most Individual Draws as a team
Any tie for a team divisional championship will be determined as follows:
  • 1st tie-breaker, Head-to-Head Record (overall team record)
  • 2nd tie-breaker, Division Record (overall team record)
  • 3rd tie-breaker, Conference Record (overall team record)
  • 4th tie-breaker, Most Individual Wins
  • 5th tie-breaker, Fewest Individual Losses
  • 6th tie-breaker, Non-Conference Record
Second change to the rules deals with draft order as discussed on the forum:

1)The draft will be announced one week prior to the start time of the draft.

2) There will be three rounds to the draft.

3) The order in which teams will draft(straight draft):
The 16 non-playoff teams will be placed in the draft order 1 thru 16 as follows,
the team with the worst point total at the end of a season will have the first pick, the team with the 2nd worst point total will have second pick…..and so on.

The playoff teams will be placed 17 thru 24 in the draft order as follows:

I will add the points scored in each round of the playoffs to the regular season total. The 4 1st-round losers will only have 1 additional match total added to their regular season total. These 4 teams will then be ranked, just like the 16 non-playoff teams and will be arranged in draft positions 17-20.

The 2 Conference finals losers will have 2 additional match totals added to the regular season total. Of the 2, the lowest gets draft position 21, and the higher gets draft position 22.

The UTBA Championship Runner-up will autmatically get draft position 23

The UTBA Champion will get draft positon 24

4) Draft Times:
Will be announced by the commissioner (SAL)

5) A new thread will be set up on the forum to conduct the draft. Once the draft begins, teams will begin making their selections on the thread using a honor system. When you see it is your teams turn to draft, please post what weight class, rating and name of the fighter you are drafting. You must name the fighter at this time. Once you see the team before your team in the draft order has made their pick, your team will be on the clock, so please make your selection next by posting it on the thread when you are ready.

Time limit for drafting:
Once a team has made a selection, the next team in the draft order is on the clock. Your team will have 12 hours to make a selection when the clock is started. If you do not make a selection in the alloted time, your draft pick will be forfeited and the draft selection will proceed to the next team. If you lose a pick due to forfeit, there will be no make-ups. No Exceptions!

Each manager will be responsible for watching the draft to see when their turn comes up.
*note*
If you think there is a chance you may not be available to make your selection when it's your turn to pick, you may send a PM to the commissioner(SAL) with your picks stated in the order of priority that you want, and I'll make the selection for you based on your list and instructions.

6) All teams will draft for the entire three rounds before any roster cuts are made to get under the 105 point cap. Once the draft is over, all managers will have one week to release fighters from their roster or use the free agent waiver wire to get their cap point total at or under 105.
