Im curious as to how qualification matches/rounds for European Championships and the World Cups are shown on TV throughout Europe. Perhaps one of the Europeans on this board can enlighten me?

I wish ESPN would show those rather than the World Series of Darts and Dominoes.

England games are all shown live, someone could give you more information about the contracts they signed but with the looks of it the BBC will show all home games while Sky Sports will show all away games.

No idea what other nations do but I'd say all games would be on live.

http://www.thefa.com/England/SeniorT...uresAndResults

This is the link for upcoming England fixtures, some games don't have a TV station next to them but they will be live as all England games are even friendlies.

Also what usually happens is that Sky Sports will show the full game tape delayed when the game was live on the BBC and the BBC will show highlights of the games later at night when the game as been live on Sky Sports.

Hope this helps

Good programme on about hooligans at the world Cup, mostly about England, Germany and Poland, wonder where the Dutch were as they used to have a nasty reputation.

Programme tried to make out more than what it was, although shouldn't happen it was mainly a load of drunk blokes puffing their chests out nothing like what it used to be.

A Mr Fit-It who arranges fights between groups of fans stated at one point that "300 Germans were headed for a fight with England fans but the police had stopped them round the corner", trust me few years back the police wouldn't have stopped them so doubt there were 300 more like 30.

Had to laugh though as in the red light district a few England and German fans had a fight watched by a load of Hells Angles who are hired as security in the red light district, thing was the police just let the fans get on with it and beat up the Hells Angels in fact most of the arrests that night were Hells Angels.

I had no idea the hells angels were international. And hiring them for security? Didn't you guys hear about Altamont?

Yeah I've seen clips of the Altamont thing, there's loads of bikers were I live they meet up for like charity events and such at a bar just up the road from me, not the prototypical Hells Angels though as there's never any trouble just loud music and bikes not certain if they even class themselves as Hells Angels.

One of the things I'd love to do before I pop of this world is to drive coast to coast in the States on a Harley

For sure, but I'd rather take a chopper. I'm not a Harley fan.

Good times. IMLE, Harley's are becoming more and more unreliable as cross-country touring bikes. Those are the only bikes you see broken down on the highway here.

One of the strangest oddest funniest things i have ever seen is a new program hosted by 'Good Eats' host Alton Brown. The premise is that he will bike across the USA and the show will focus on food. A decent premise you say?

Yeah, but if you picture in your mind a typical Hells Angels member, he is the opposite. And he has the whimpiest looking bike ever. And he wears more body armor than Barry Bonds. And the show is about cooking.

When Yuppies co-op your outlaw lifestyle you know the party is over.

There's a programme the same over here called Hairy Bikers, really good programme they go round different countries cooking local dishes and looking at the sites and stuff but it's off the road kind of stuff not the usual tourist stuff.

I meant about how all games are shown, not just the home nations games. Do you see the full days fixtures as well?

Eurosport have a 90-120 minute highlight show of most of the qualifiers on the same night as the games are played (Wednesday or Saturday). The only ones they don't show usually are those played in the small countries (Malta, San Marino et al), probably because they don't broadcast the signal outside their country. The home nation's FA holds all TV rights.

Usually, 2 to 4 games are shown with longer highlights of around 20 minutes, with the goals and other incidents shown from the other games.

Because of their pan-European broadcast signal, Eurosport are not allowed to show any qualifying games live. We don't have blackouts on live sport, unlike you have.
