Rocco 3 more fighters that had fights in 1967 that i found on my fight schs.I thank i have a few that had only 2 or 3 fights to start some of the fighters careers that i rated.I'll post them later i'm working on Tommy Prater rating now.He had fights with Bobick,Holmes,LeDoux,Coetzee,Cooney,Mercado and Evangelista losing all most by ko did manage a dec win over Randy Stephens early in Stephens carrer.Surprised someone else hadn't rated him.Just about got him rated few more times thur his sch.got to run now out of here turkey dinner time. Knocked out or stopped in 9 of his 12 losses, Andrews fought many middle level talent and even a couple upper echelon heavyweights of the 60s, he just couldn't beat them for the most part with is apparent weak chin.

His 4 wins he managed against a HW George Thibault(5-2-0,5), LHW Dick Gambino(16-2-3,14), HW Ray Phillips(9-3-0,9) and HW Charley Chase(21-13-1,7), probably Andrews' most noteworthy accomplishment. Losses piled up against Arnie Brower, Leslie Borden, Ray Patterson, Franco DePiccoli, Mike Bruce, Larry Renaud, George Chuvalo(KO'd Andrews in 1st), Johnny Barrazza, James J. Beattie, Buster Mathis, Renaud again and finally after managing a 10 round draw with a LHW Ted Williams(9-11-3,5), Andrews career wrapped up with an 8 round decision loss to Leslie Borden in March 1967.

I added the "B" in his file name to differentiate him from a LHW Sonny Andrews of the 50's rated by Mark Elwood.

For Woods it was entirely a case of knockout the opponent or be knockout. His 5 wins were by KO/TKO and his 6 losses were all by KO/TKO. He beat Woody Ellis once in August 1967 and lost 3 times to Tom Cohen, and also to Cecil Holland and Mike Jackson in 1966 and 1967.

Here's Tommy Praters rating i said i would post after i got through play testing.Also Marty Capasso and Steve Grant.How do some off you go about rating fighters. The way i go about it is get his record from boxrec.then i see how many fights he had with fighters all ready rated then i fill in the rest of the fights with fighters that are close to the ones they fight i have fighter grouped out in champs,top 5,top 10's,top 25's top 50's ,trialhorses and tomato cans I even have a group of fighter that had only one fight that way i can fine a fighter that is simlar to the one on the sch.I use career stage allso beginning,preprime and so on.Lets say a fighter record is 20 wins 6 losses 16 by ko and ko by 2 times a total of 26 fights i take the 20 wins break it into 19.51 to 20.49 devide it by no of fights which is 26 which is 75% to 79% wins Knockouts 15.51 to 16.49 devide by 26=60% to 62% knockouts ko by 1.51 to 2.49 devided by 26=6% to10%. then i devide 26 into 1000 which is 38.5 so i sch each fight 40 times for 1040 total fights i keep playing sch over and over keep changing ratings until they fit with in the % of wins,kos and ko by range then take the top 5 fights in there prime that they had with fighters all ready rated than i go throught the same thing all over again then i hope i can come up with a rating.Well it's time consuming but i enjoy it very much all most as much as playing the game. I hope this helps some of you be able to rate your own fighters.

Black won his first two fights by 3rd round TKO over Jack Johnson(5-16-3,5KO) and Milton Manley(0-7-0,0) then fought a 10 round draw with Bill Nielsen before loosing a 10 round decision to Lou Bailey, all in 1965. In 1966 he was KO'd in the first round in Feb by Cleveland Williams before coming back in June to stop Nielsen in the 6th round. It was year later in June 1967 before he fought again, loosing a 10 round decision to Johnny Alford.

Almost 3 years past before Black shows up in the ring again in January 1970 when he wins a 6 round decision over Mac Harrison. In june that year he then looses a 10 round decision to Ron Marsh and then in December looses a 6 rounder to Harrison. Two fights in 1971 finish Black's career, a 4th round TKO victory over Battling Bob Smith(5-8-2,4KO) and a 6th round KO loss to Willie McMillan(15-10-1,9).

Banks has one recorded fight in July 1958, a 1st round KO loss to a middleweight, Rip White(7-4-0,5). We then next see Banks in late May 1967 when he wins a 4 round split decision over Willis Earls(12-15-2,7). That win and over the next year through the 1st of April 1968 Banks wins 6 fights while loosing 1, a 6 round decision to Roy Wallace. Wins came over John Phillips(3-3-0,1), Earls again, Lee Estes(13-27-3,5), Ed Hurley and a Walter Harvey(1-2-0,1). Not much competition. The rest of Banks' career which stretches on up through 1980 fails to show much success winning only 5 more fights, most noteable of which were a 10 round decision over Memphis Al Jones in December 1968, and a 6 round decision over Canadian Paul Nielsen(13-15-1,9).

Losses came against Vernon Clay(8-6-0,5), Rufus Brassell(18-7-0,10), Johnny Griffin, Jose Roman, Forest Ward, William Burton, Jose Manuel Urtain, Joey Orbillo, Jim Lee Elder(12-1-1,10), Jeff Merritt, Ibar Arrington, Dale Grant, and Grover Robinson. The biggest fight of his career and loss would be a 10 round decision he dropped to Dave Zyglewicz in April 1970 in a bout for the Texas State HW Title. Knocked out 17 times in his 22 losses.

Batey's career mainly spanned from 1955 through 1962. He fought one fight in March 1963, loosing a 4 round decision to a Lew Moses(13-2-1,8) whom Batey had KO'd in the first round in a fight in December 1962. Batey then did not fight again tile January 1964 when Hubert Hilton won an 8 round UD over Batey. It was out of the ring again till he came back for one last fight in October 1967 when he was KO'd in the 2nd round by Bahamian HW Bert Perry who was fighting in his 2nd career bout.

From 1955 thru 1962 Batey fought two fights that mark the high points of his career. In June 1957 in Sunnyside Garden in NY, he took on a Canadian who was making his first professional bout and who would go on to become one of the top ranked heavyweights of the late 1950s and early 1960s, Bob Cleroux. Cleroux knocked out Batey in the 4th round of the scheduled 6 rounder. In November 1961 came Batey's other big fight when he battled then South American HW champion, Alex Miteff in the Long Island Arena in Commack, NY. Batey won by TKO when the fight was stopped in the 4th round because of a cut over Miteff's left eye. Miteff announced his retirement following the bout and on November 19th vcated his South American title. Miteff made an abreviatted, unsuccessful comeback in late 1966 when he knocked out Alejandro Gallardo in August 1966 but then was Ko'd in the 3rd round by Jerry Quarry in April 1967.

Four other noteworth fights in Batey's career was a 1st round TKO loss to Don Warner, a 6 round decision over Charlie Jones, a 9th round disqualifacation loss to Yvon Durelle in June 1960 and in his first fight after beating Miteff, Batey lost a 10 round decision to Don Prout in December 1961.

Welcome to the forum! You'll "meet" a lot of great boxing fans here. Many more that no so much more then I do! I believe your going to love TB. It's really a fun. I've enjoy it just learning about all the fighters of days gone by. There's many here who've contributed many new fighters for TB, some who have done WAY more then I. My main interest in boxing is with the heavyweights and to a lesser degree the light heavies, thus most of what you see me doing ratings on are in those two divisions. Check out some of the other threads to find many more fighters in other divisions if that's your interest also.

I find the records for the guys where probably most everyone looks and thats the BoxRec website (www.boxrec.com). Check it out. You'll love it.

As far as the new fighters you import into the game, it's a matter I guess what you want to do eventually in the game. I think I made a copy of the game database and made it the one that I put all my fighters in. Gamers who run universes will create other data bases to do that and maybe keep one "main" data base to store all thier fighters because many of the "universes" you see talked about on these forums, use only certain fighters or they use only certain weight divisions. Look around some of the other General discussion threads and ask around about doing that kind of thing with the game. I myself have never set up a universe. Most of my time with TB is rating new guys and just running random fights and tournaments and such. These figthers I'm creating now for this 67 replay is going to be to do a replay of heavyweight fights in 1967 and then hopefully beyond into 1968 and 69. The way I think I'm going to do it is as a sort of "what if" Ali had not been stripped of his heavyweight title in 1967 and had fought on though 1967 thru 1970? How would heavyweight boxing been different though those years and even beyond?

Lost by 2nd round TKO to Leo Cherry in Beaumont, TX in late February 1967. This was Cherry's first fight also, but unlike Baxter, Cherry did go on a month later to fight one more time in his career.

Beasley won 3 of first 4 fights while going a 6 round draw with Johnny Pew in the 4th fight. In July 1970 he lost for the first time being knocked out in 3 by Billy Stephen(19-12-1,4). From then through August 1961 he went 4-1-2,0KO including a 6th round KO loss to Tony Alongi an 8 round decision over Wendell Newton and an 8 round draw with Solomon McTier(21-4-2,10KO). In August 1961 he was stopped in the first round by Herb Siler(15-12-0,7KO). Aaron then fought only two times in 1962, in June and July, loosing a decision to Wendell Newton and stopped in the 7th by Al Owens(9-5-1,7KO). He then didn't fight again for a whole year until he was stopped in the 4th round by Levi Forte in July 1963.

Aaron was then out of the ring for close to 2 years until he showed up in Bologna, Italy to take on Franco DePiccoli. It was Aaron's first fight outside the USA and it didn't last long as DePiccoli knocked out Beasley in the 2nd round. Beasley lost two more fights in 1965 before winning his last three efforts that year. In March 1966, he was knocked out in the 3rd round in a bout against Florida Al Jones. A 6 round draw with Al Owens in May 1966 was Beasley's last "successful" fight as he then lost his last 4 career fights, the first by TKO and last 3 by knockouts by Willi Besmanoff, Carl Baker and Pedro Sanchez.

Jimmy Lee Elder born Jan. 1st 1948 died May 25th 1972 24 yrs old i don't know how he died won 12 10 by ko and lost 1 had 1 draw.1970 thur 1971 never got to reach his prime had good size for hw in the 60s and 70s 6ft 2 weight was 209 to 219.Might have made it to top 15 or 20 if he had the chance.in June of 1970 had 3 fights in 15 days winning all 3 Al Banks by tko 2 and William Taylor and Sonny King in 1st round kos only loss being to Charlie Harris by 10 rd dec.Looking it the rest of his sch. i thank this was a fluke 6 mo. later beat Harris in 6 rd dec.Ko'd Orville Qualls in 4rds tko'd Levi Forte 1n 6rds and won a dec in 10 rds over Pedro Agosto at the time Agosto was 20 wins 2 losses.

Fought (Big) John Bateman in June 1965 in Boise, Idaho. Bateman stopped Beeler in the 2nd round. It was Bateman's only recorded fight. Then in April 1967 Beeler pops up again, this time in Spokane, Washington to take on Jack Nelson(1-1-0). Nelson KO's Beeler in the 2nd round to effectively end Beeler's career it would seem.

Was knocked out by Bob Foster in February 1963. Next showed up in October 1967 to take on Jack O'Halloran. O'Halloran decisioned Benjamin in 6 rounds. It's not till March 1969 that we see Benjamin again to take on Phil Smith(10-9-2,6KO) and Smith knocks out Benjamin in the 2nd round. One last fight for Benjamin as he resurfaces 8-1/2 years later in November 1977 loosing an 8 round decision to a Henry Patterson(5-21-0,2KO).

Here is a fighter i need some help on i have come up with a rating so far of 5 so some of you need to try and see what you can come up with.He is very hard to rate.Steve Carter his record 1s 16 wins 7 by ko 6 losses his career started in1969 ended in1973. He ko'd both Bob Hazelton and Lee Estes in rd 2 Lost to Earnie Shavers by tko rd 1 and to Ken Norton by tko in rd 3. He won decs over Eduardo Corletti and Henry Clark in 10rds.Lost 10rd decs to Howard Smith and Boone Kirkman.Carter had 11 fights with fighters all ready in game.He had 22 fights all total so i made his sch 50 fights for each fighter for 1100 total fights i have been through the sch about 15 or 20 times and a 5 rating is the lowest i can come up with and make his won and loses kos and ko by right.So here is his rating so far so give it a try and see what you can come up with.Also here is Rodell Dupree which was Larry Holmes first pro fight which Holmes won in 4rd dec. Gonzalez won his firs 13 fights, 9 by knockout. he didn't record a KO after that. After accummulating that 13-0-0 start against the usual local club fighters he got his first real tests in May and August 1962 when he took on first Tod Herring sporting an 18-2-0 record and then veteran HW contender, Zora Folley. Both fights proved Gonzalez to be no challenge for either opponent as Herring KO'd Gonzalez in the 6th and Folley in the 5th rounds.

After that Gonzalez turned back to more local challanges taking on Sonny Moore in Feb 1963 for the Texas State HW Title. Moore dispatched Gonzalez in the 3rd round by KO. Between May 1963 and April 1964 Gonzalez managed to win 5 fights while drawing one against Kirk Barrow. He won a 10 round SD against Freeman Hardin and then in June 1963 won the Arizona State HW title by 12 round decision over Sam Pride. Wins over Bobby Sands and Don (Toro) Smith later in 1963 was followed by a successful 10 round decision Arizona title defense against Pride in April 1964.

After the Pride success, Gonzalez tried to make the move up again the heavyweight ladder taking on Tony Alongi in late May 1964 and Ski Goldstein in August. Gonzalez again proved not capable of going against even middle level competition as Alongi and Goldstein both knocked out Gonzalez in early rounds. With that Gonzalez gave up the ring.

It's surprising to see the talent that Carter fought in his brief career and kept getting fights against who he did even though he showed to not be able to really go it with that crowd without much success. He did manage wins over Freeman Hardin(8-12-1,4), John L Davey(6-8-4,2) and along with a draw against Davey and a 10 round decision win over Manuel Ramos in the first couple of years. During that span he also lost fights to Thad Spencer and Ski Goldstein by knockout and lost decisions to Ramos, Davey and Tony Doyle.

After the win over Ramos in May 1964 Carter then lost his last 7 fights by knockout or TKO. In 1964 he was KO'd by Ski Goldstein and Elmer Rush. A year after the Rush 1st round knockout Carter fought next against a 10-0 Jerry Quarry. Quarry stopped him in the 6th round. Next up in June 1966 he was stopped in the 1st round by a 3-0 Boone Kirkman. In September and November of 66 Carter was nexted Knocked out in 3 and 1 round respectively by Fred Lewis and Tom Pawlowski. After the 1st rounder to Pawlowski(1-1 at the time) you'd think Carter would have hung it. Well he did but for a one fight comeback try in October 1968 against George Scrap Iron Johnson. Johnson stopped Carter's career for good in the 6th round.

Lost a 6 round decision to Wilhelm von Homburg in Davey's 2nd career fight in December 1962. Wilhelm was 3-1-1 at the time. A month after that fight he fought Clifford Gray(3-25-2,2) but the fight was stopped in the 1st round and ruled a technical draw. In 1963 thru 1964 he won fights against Sam Wyatt, twice against Larry McGee, Al Carter and Luther Ray Davis. Also drew fights with Carter and George Scrap Iron Johnson. He lost fights to Wyatt, Carter, and Ray Patterson. In 1965 he lost o Tony Doyle and George Logan while managing a 10 round draw with Logan. In June 1966 Davey's career came to an end loosing a 10 round MD against Dave Centi.

Stephan won his first 9 fights, 6 by knockout then on January 31st, 1961 he matched up against undefeated(21-0-0 at the time), Tony Alongi. Stephan went the 10 round distance with Alongi but lost the decision. From August 1961 thru Feb 1962 he did manage to go 6-1-1,6KO including a 9th round TKO victory over Kirk Barrow in Feb 1962. Stephan fought Barrow in a rematch 3 months later and that time Barrow took the victory in a 10 round decision. From that point on Stephan matched up against some better competition more along the lines of guys like Alongi and Barrow and his record showed as he managed only a 4-8-0,3KO mark. The wins came against Freeman Hardin(8-12-1,4), Wilhelm von Homburg, Ski Goldstein and Richie Peters.

Stephan took a brief tour overseas in Late 1962 and early 1963 when he lost a 10 round decision to Johnny Prescott in London, and 12 round decisions to Bobby Stininato and middleweight Earl Nikora in New Zealand. Back in the states by April of 1963 he lost fights to Jefferson Davis and Bill McMurray before winning a 10 round decision over von Homburg in September of that year. After a 10 round decision loss to Norman Letcher(14-7-0,5) in December 1963, Stephan was out of the ring for close to a year until he knocked out Ski Goldstein in November 1964. That big win though was followed a month later by a 6th round TKO loss to Oscar Bonavena. It was another year layoff bfore he fought Joey Orbillo loosing by 10 round decision to Orbillo. After his win over Peters in April 1966, Stephan finished his career when he was stopped by LHW Eddie JOnes in the 8th round in June 1966.

Fought Archie Ray in April, May and June 1962 starting out his career. Ray had fought one time previous to thier first bout having won his first fight. Pride won the 6 round decision in thier first go around with Ray taking the next two decisions in 6 and 8 rounds. After a couple of 3 round knockout wins over Luther Murphy(7-3-1,2), and a Middleweight Junius Washington((32-8-3,14) who was at the end of his career, Pride lost a 12 round decision in June 1963 to Al Gonzalez for the Arizona State HW Title. Three months after that he fought an 8 round draw with a Tony Flores(13-4-2,5). That ended being Flores last career bout.

After a KO win over another MW, Jimmy Ahmed in October 1963, the rest of Pride's career was down the drain to say the least. He lost five straight fights to Ski Goldstein, Buddy Turman, Al Gonzalez(loosing the Arizona title), Manuel Ramos and Joey Orbillo. Ramos and Orbillo were a combined 7-0-1 in their early careers. In January 1965 Pride managed a 10 round draw with Bowie Adams who was undefeated at 14-0-0. After a 6 round decision win over Clifford Gray(who couldn't beat Gray!), Pride came backin August 1965 to face his old opponent from the beginning days, Archie Ray. Ray much more experienced at this time, KO'd Pride in the 3rd round. Pride hung them up after that.

Started his career loosing a 4 rounder to Bill McMurray. Went 5-1-0,2KO in his next fights against MW, LHW and a couple HW's of no mention. In Sept 1961 he lost a 10 round decision to a Ted Hutchinson(9-4-2,3) and then in May 1962 was KO's in the 8th by Billy Stephan. Then 3 months late he was stopped in the 7th round by Andres Muela(8-1-0,2). Hardin turned things around for one fight with a 3rd round KO over Wilhelm von Homburg in October 1962 then lost a decision to Al Carter in January 63. He fought 5 more times in 1963, first a draw against Eddie Foster(2-3-1,0) then managed a 6 round decision win over Duke Sabedong. After that three straight losses to Al Gonzalez, Johnny Gordon(13-3-3,7) and Ski Goldstein by 2nd round KO.

It was almost 3 years out of the ring till Hardin shows up again in April 1966 when he fights LHW Jimmy Rossette twice that month. Rossette beats Hardin both times in decisions. Later in June that year Hardin manages to stop Sonny King(5-0-0 at the time) in the 6th round but a month later Don Koontz brings Hardin's career to an end for good beating him by majority decision in 10 rounds.

Owens' entire career was fought in Miami/Miami Beach area. His pro debut on March 8th, 1961 happended to be the pro debut of a heavyweight from the Bahamas, Wendell Newton. Newton won the 4 round decision. Owens in fact lost his first 3 fights, the second being a 4 round decision to Tommy Stru(7-2-1,5) and the third was an 8 round decision dropped to Argentinian LHW Guillermo Dutschmann(30-14-4,7). Owens finally broke through with a win against Levi Forte in June 1961, a 6 round decision. It was Forte's 2nd pro fight. Owen's strung together 4 more wins after that. The first 3 were knockouts over a LHW Jimmy Robinson(5-23-0,1), and HW's Billy Stephan and Levi Forte. In January 1962 he won a 6 round decision over Prentice Snipes who was 9-0-0 at the time.

After an 8 round decision loss to Otha Brown in February 1962 he later in 62 stopped Jim Tillman and Aaron Beasley. After the Beasley fight though there's no recorded bouts for Owens for close to 4 years until he April 1966 when he comes back and stops a Fred Green(0-4-0,0) in 4 rounds. In May and June then the draws 6 rounds with Aaron Beasley and then stops Beasley in the 2nd round of a rematch. In November that year Owen's is then knocked out in the 4th round by Wiley(Willie) Johnson. That's it again for owens until he shows up again for one last fight in February 1968 when he's knocked out in the 6th round by a David King(3-1-0,1).
