So far in this timeline, the Red Sox have the most titles, with 4, the Athletics and Phillies have 3, the Pirates and Senators have 2, and the Reds have 1.
Yeah, with Ruth on the Yankees earlier in TTL, the Yankees will win (or go to) at least 1 or 2 before their real-life win in 1923, and that total will surpass the Red Sox in TTL (assuming they don't win any more), sorry to say, when Lou Gehrig (the Iron Horse--there's a reason why the Yankees were unstoppable when Gehrig and Ruth were healthy) joins Ruth on the Yankees... Good story, and hoping the Red Sox have more titles than real life... On a side note, I think I can guess who some of the Red Sox's favorite sons are... |

Yeah in these early years before minors and farm systems, the game struggles to replicate where players end up if you have full minors invoked. Ty Cobb, for example, is introduced as a FA as he was IRL. Which is fine except it means he has a roughly 1-in-16 chance of being a Tiger. And a 15-in-16 chance of not. I understand why the game has been programmed to behave like this but I think it is a poor decision. Almost everyone who opts for full minors without a Draft wants historical players - especially the big names - to land on their historical team. If they don't, they enable a Draft. Now I know it's pretty straightforward to move them to their historical team manually (as I am doing in my Dodgers save) but it still feels unnecessary and clunky to have to do so. So I have no idea which of the big-name Yanks will land with them, same as at any other club including ours. For our Favoured Sons, I made the executive decision that we get them no matter what. There's only 26 of them in total so I don't see it giving us much of an unfair advantage. Furthermore, because I do want to highlight the Yanks-Sox rivalry, I will be manually allocating the HoF Yankees to their club if they don't go there automatically. And, yes, they will start to dominate us if we're not careful. Therein lieth the challenge! That's the plan, anyway. There are a few other surprises slated along the way as well. I see your PM, let's check how good your guesses were. G |
