After yesterday's dominating performance by Gerrit Cole (9 Ks in 5 2/3 innings), and his return from a bout with Covid, I would say that he has made a successful transition away from the sticky stuff. When he struggled right after the crackdown, I criticized him but I did also say someplace that the best pitchers would adjust and return to prominence. I give Cole credit for being one of them.

Yep. Most people said, "Wait it out and see what happens," because knee jerk reactions are rarely right and they're usually very misinformed.

Cole ranks 2nd on ESPN's Cy Young Predictor behind Liam Hendriks. And he's ranked 1st in AL CY Young Power Rankings. I'd say that Cole has figured out how to survive and thrive without Spider Tack.
