The Cardinals have placed infielder Greg Garcia on the 10-day disabled list with shoulder tendonitis. He is expected to miss two weeks.

Following two straight losses in Minnesota, to cap a 3-3 road trip, the Cardinals return to Busch Stadium for a seven-game home stand opening with four games against the Philadelphia Phillies. It will be followed by three games of interleague play against the Kansas City Royals.

Player of the game: The Phillies' Rhys Hoskins was 2 for 5 with a double, a home run and six RBIs. Notes: The Cardinals' Jed Gyorko was 1 for 3 with a homer, two runs scored and three RBIs. Seth Smith was 4 for 6 with a a double, a run scored and three RBIs. Tommy Edmann was 4 for 4 with a run scored. * Tied 4-4, both teams scored four times in the ninth inning to force extra innings. Hoskins drove in all four Philadelphia runs with a grand slam off Greg Holland. Seth Smith had a two-run double off Pat Neshek in the bottom of the ninth for St. Louis. A Yadier Molina sacrifice fly off Neshek plated Edmann with the tying run. * In the 10th, Kolten Wong drew a lead-off walk from Neshek. A one-out walk to Edmann moved him to second.
