The A's traded Sonny Gray for Wilson Contreras on the Cubs.

Lage has been moved to DH/1B with top prospect Xavier Edwards being called up to play second and he, along with Barreto, are better defensively than Lage.

The Marlins don't look like they did anything in the off-season really.

their pitching still sucks, but should carry a high average as a team.

Atlanta signed Gio Gonzalez to 3/$24.5M (last year is a vesting option)
They also signed Chris Archer for 5/$51M (no options)

This will help their rotation.

The O's new DH is a Korean for $5M, that looks to be about it for them.

The Rox added T. Bauer for $8.2M for one season

I didn't notice it, but the year prior they signed Wil Myers for 4/56.6M

I honestly can't tell if the Brewers did anything or not.

Wow, first the Reds arrange a wild trade with Philly and now they go all out with free agents. The contracts should expire in time for them to lock up Snyder and Williams before free agency. Hoping we're competitive this year!

Arbitration:

Bernie McAllison

The Marlins are offering you a one year contract for $8,100,000 with a MVP bonus of $410,000.

Do you accept this offer?

If you want to go to arbitration, their filing amount is $7,800,000. You can either accept the amount or submit a counter amount for an arbitrator to decide.

Peter Python.

The Rockies are offering you a 7 year contract for $148,000,000
2021 - $10,000,000
2022 - $17,000,000
2023 - $24,200,000
2024 - $24,200,000
2025 - $24,200,000
2026 - $24,200,000
2027 - $24,200,000

Also include the following bonuses
Cy Young - $800,000
All-Star Selection - $150,000

They are also offering you a one year contract for $9,400,000

Their arbitration filing amount is $9,250,000

You can either accept one of the above contracts, or you can submit an arbitration figure for an arbitrator to decide.

Note, there are free agent starters getting $30,000,000 per year like Kershaw.

The highest paid:
1. Kershaw - Dodgers - $36.5
2. Strasburg - Pirates - $36.0
3. Scherzer - Yankees - $35.0
4. Fernandez - Dodgers - $33.0
5. Greinke and Price - D'Backs and Red Sox - $32

14 players in total make $30M or more.

This contract would not put you into the top 25 highest annual salary players during the free agent years. But you are getting security well before reaching free agency.

I'm not saying all of this to sway you one way or another. But giving you the leagues financial information.

Their farm system is the 12th best in baseball.

A little surprised by some of the signings honestly.

You may also ask for additional information before determining a contract offer.

I'll take the 1 year deal for 9.4 mil. There is no way that I'm staying in Colorado long term.

The White Sox must have gotten tired of hearing their top prospect openly talking about how much he hated the team. lol

I find it odd that the Reds bought Daniel Murphy and Sal Perez to be backups on the roster.
