Ivan Nova has a partially torn UCL and will be out for the next ten months.

Mike Pelfrey was called up to take his spot in the rotation. Also Mike Nickeas was called up and Anthony Gose was sent down to deal with the injury to Jesus Montero.

The Blue Jays came up with a big win, beating the Rangers 4-3 on a walk-off wild pitch by Joe Nathan that scored Jose Reyes from third.

Eric Hosmer went 3 for 5 with 2 solo homeruns.

WP - Steve Delabar (3-0)
LP - Joe Nathan (3-2)

Record - 33-27

Mike Pelfrey's return to the Blue Jay rotation ended prematurely as he left the game after 3 innings with a blister. It is expected he will be ready for his next start.

Things turned out well for the team though, as they beat the Rangers 5-3.

Nolan Reimold went 2 for 4 with a two-run blast. Jose Reyes also went deep.

WP - Aaron Crow (3-2)
Save - Rex Brothers (19)
LP - Neftali Feliz (9-4)

Record - 34-27

The Blue Jays have a 1.5 game lead on Boston and a 2.5 game lead on Baltimore, who have lost five in a row. Right now they would face Detroit in the play-offs.

Jesus Montero's strained abdominal will shelve him for about six weeks. George Springer is called up to take his roster spot.

Eric Tyler has signed.

Tom McCarthy has decided to not sign and enter college.

The Blue Jay offense exploded over the Rangers, beating them 9-1. Jose Bautista went 3 for 5 including a league leading 16th homerun and 4 RBI (for a league leading 50).
George Springer's Toronto debut had home going 2 for 3, including a homerun!

Jose Reyes strained his abdominal muscle and will have to go on the D.L.

WP - Josh Johnson (5-1)
LP - Martin Perez (5-3)

Record - 35-27

That was R.A.'s day! He held the Mariners to one run off two hits and only left the game in the ninth because of a sore thumb (which reports tell us shouldn't be a problem going forward).

The Jays won 2-1 on Nolan Reimold's two-run blast.

WP - R.A. Dickey (4-1)
Save - Rex Brothers (20)
LP - Matt Garza (1-7)

Record - 36-27

Dave Burnett has agreed to a contract.

There are four players still outstanding.

Bryce Harper has had a career-ending injury. A severe concussion has ended his playing days.

The Jays just couldn't get to Hisashi Iwakuma as the Mariner's end Toronto's winning streak, beating them 4-1.

WP - Hisashi Iwakuma (6-3)
Save - Tom Wilhelmsen (15)
LP - Colby Lewis (8-2)

Record - 37-28

Pedro Alvarez was the IL's Player of the week and Buffalo was #1 in the IL Power Rankings.

Toronto has risen to #6 (behind only Detroit and Boston in the AL).

You can blame this loss on the Toronto defense as 4 of Tampa's 6 runs were unearned.

Jose Bautista hit his 17th homer while going 3 for 4.

WP - Edinson Volquez (6-4)
Save - Jake McGee (16)
LP - Mike Pelfrey (1-2)

Record - 37-29

The Red Sox, winners of 7 in a row, have tied the Jays for the AL East lead.

Truman McIlmoyle has signed.

We have signed all but four (Mike Blankenship, Tom McCarthy, Devin Fields and Lou Wood) who have informed us that they will not sign.

While the team has been doing well, Brett Lawrie's Triple Crown threat has slipped significantly.

AVG

1. Mike Moustakas .366
2. Mike Trout .350
3. Manny Machado .343
4. Brett Lawrie .333

HR

1. Miguel Cabrera 18
1. Albert Pujols 18
3. Jose Bautista 17
4. Mike Moustakas 16
5(Tied). Brett Lawrie 15

RBI

1. Albert Pujols 61
2. Jose Bautista 56
3. Mike Moustakas 51
4. Brett Lawrie 48

Moustakas has a better shot, but that is also seeming unlikely as Pujols is starting to run away with the RBI lead.

The Blue Jays didn't play like a team in a divisional race.

The Rays beat them 10-3.

WP - David Price (5-6)
LP - Josh Johnson (5-2)

Record - 37-30

The Red Sox won their 8th in a row, taking sole possession of the lead in the AL East.

More of the same, but this time they couldn't use David Price as an excuse. Jake Odorizzi is not exactly scary, but he shut down the Jays, 4-1.

WP - Jake Odorizzi (1-5)
Save - Jake McGee (17)
LP - R.A. Dickey (4-2)

Record - 37-31

Boston lost so the Jays are still out by 1 (and the 2nd Wild Card.)

Franklin Guttierez is going on the D.L. with a strained oblique.

Pedro Alvarez is called up from Buffalo. Also, Mark Montgomery is sent down and Bruce Rondon is called up.
