Hi Matt,

You might check the pause auto pick setting on the draft page. The other requirement is that someone access the draft board page, as the trigger for auto picks is on that page.

Pause Auto Picks is unchecked and I've had my browser open to our draft board at all times. Any thoughts?

Well we have moved to a draft timer and slotted time limits. List Picks seems to be working correctly now that we are on a timer.

Development Tracker

Hey Frank,

I'm trying to set up the Export Tracker. I got it to display correctly but I believe the issue I'm running into is that the other GMs exports are going to the 'teamuploads' folder on the server under the secondary/nonadmin account I created per OOTP's suggestion for security. I have my account as the admin for our server and a 'ootpmanager' account created for the team uploads. If I log into the server with the 'ootpmanager' account, I see everyone's exports. Is there a workaround so I can use the Export Tracker function of Statslab?

Thanks for all your help!

*Edit was removing the Development Tracker issue, seems to have resolved itself after regular season games were ran*

I'm really not sure what you're asking, but you might try checking the first checkbox in your screenshot. StatsLab doesn't care what account is used to upload files, just that the files are there.

I unchecked the box before the screenshot. Sorry about the confusing wording.

I have checked the box to enable it (http://www.afblbaseball.com/afbl/sta...ab/exports.php) and it shows 'No export' for every team. I can locate the team's exports made via FTP using FileZilla when I log in with the secondary FTP account I have created on my website that is called 'ootpmanager'. I see everyone's exports in the 'teamuploads' folder while logged in with the 2nd account but not with my admin account 'mstreeter06'.

Is there a way to workaround this or should I just change the username/password in the 'Team File Transfer Options' in the 'Online League FTP Options' page in the OOTP14 game to my admin account?

Screenshots

I tried to copy/paste between the two accounts, it did work but I lost the time stamp from each team's export. This isn't a big issue but would be nice to have working. Email or IM me if you want to contact me directly. Thanks!

You got weird team ID's. Make sure the directory is readable by all users. It's a permissions issue. If you browse to that folder from the web, you should be able to see the contents of the directory.

Yeah you were right. I had to set up a remap sub-dir in my host (Dreamweaver) to get it to point to the 'ootpmanager' user's file path. All better now! Thanks!

ERROR: dbopen.php file not found in SQL upload directory. Please create this file based on dbopen.php.sample.
After doing so, return to this page.

I know all the files are there in the right places, is there a place that points to the SQL directory?

config.txt in the StatsLab directory should be modified to point to the SQL directory.

500 Internal Server Error

I am getting this when trying to load SQL files (seems to be the larger files). This forces me to do everything 1 by 1... is there a way around this? I also get this trying to update DEV and some other things. Rest of the message says:

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Ok... Getting a bit frustrated with Statslab.

First... generating the MySQL files in OOTP 14 take FOREVER this year. I have not changed any of the reports from 13, and they are taking way too long. Last year, it took less than 5 minutes. Any suggestions on how to speed this process up?

Secondly...

We are currently playing with the full majors, and have just added Nippon Baseball League. So essentially 42 human GMs. The problem is that the NBL guys do not have a tab for all-star voting or draft. Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks.

None that I'm aware of. I haven't heard of this complaint before, though.

Yes. If you go to the Admin page, there is a "Pages" link in the menu that lets you set what is enabled for each league in your universe. You will have to configure each feature specific to that league, though.

The draft is driving me batty. I am getting incessant errors in my online league when trying to view the draft board.

Of course now I can't recreate it, but I get one of two errors: one will say "ERROR: No player found for auto pick!" and the other will be something about not having valid email addresses. Worse, every time I reload, it seems to autopick for the next team in line. I would say I get errors more than I'm actually able to view the draft board, and the autopicking is ruining our draft.

Okay, newb question here. I've set up the HOF voting in Statslab for the first time for our league (we previously voted on the message board).

I managed to get everything set up and the league was able to cast their first ballots. How do I close out the voting so that the results are saved and owners are no longer able to change their ballots? We are just about to finish up the world series and I wanted to finish the voting before the offseason began.

Secondly, is there any way to hard code previous voting data for players. I've had several players appear on the ballot for previous years when we were doing the voting on the message boards and I want them to be limited to being on only five total ballots. So if they were voted on three times already, I want them to only appear for two more times while we're using statslab. I know I can exclude or include players, but I was hoping to be able to modify the SQL table somehow manually.

I can speak to the "ERROR: No player found for auto pick!" I just ran into this and what i did was goto the admin page for said team and turn them to auto pick (left column) vs. them being on list. What is happening is it they only have the one boxed checked in the teams war room. Yeah takes some time when you are finishing off the draft but it goes pretty quick.

For the second error, are you getting that once the draft is done? I know when i got to the end of the draft (I think because i had it set for extra rounds with no players) I had to go into the draft history for each team to find out what the last rounds of picks were. So next time i plan on setting the last pick in the draft off of auto to avoid this issue.

Hopefully these will help.

Does anyone know if it's possible to run StatsLab using a godaddy web hosting site? From what I can tell you need to have a virtual dedicated server with godaddy in order to create a MySQL user (something I unfortunately learned after shelling out for a year worth of hosting). I guess I figured the 20 MySQL databases I was paying for would allow the ability to create MySQL users to use them.

Anyhow I'm in a bit of bind with my godaddy account and wondering if it's possible to run StatsLab with a standard godaddy webs hosting site?

Thanks,
Hal

It is possible. I am not an expert by any means, but I have it working using a GoDaddy server. Its a work in progress. Using the latest version of StatsLab and the current version of OOTP.

Just to clarify, are you using either a virtual dedicated server or a dedicated server through godaddy? From what I can tell that is the requirement in order to create and change the permissions fora MySQL user at godaddy. Unfortunately both of those options are quite a bit more expensive than what I had paid for.
