FBL Rewards Top Defenders for Year I

"Ball hawk" is a good name for the members of the defensive elite, the players who make leather shine. The fielders who crashed the wall, leaped in the air, and dived in the hole better than any others during Season I have been tabbed as the FBL's FOY Award winners. Here are this year's best, with Field Pct. followed by number of errors:

FBL ROY Award Handed Out

PRISSY PUDDIN's age didn't show very often in her first year. She performed more like a veteran on the hill for the Piggville Hollers and today she walked away with the 2009 FBL ROY Award. The 22-year-old starter registered a 17-5 record this season in 25 starts. Over 189.1 innings she gave up 141 hits, struck out 162 and issued 45 walks as she held the opposition to a .207 batting average and fashioned a 1.62 ERA.

Best FBL Pitcher Announced

22-year-old PRISSY PUDDIN of the Piggville Hollers put together a good year in 2009 for such a young player. PUDDIN was named today as the winner of the FBL TOY Award. PUDDIN crafted an impressive 17-5 record and a 1.62 ERA. In 189.1 innings she allowed 141 hits, struck out 162, and walked 45.

2009 Top Batter Selected

TUCK THOMPSON of the Piggville Hollers proved that you can step out of the shadows and onto the stage if you've got the talent and the drive to hone your skills. Hard work, long hours and a tireless resolve paid off for him today in the form of the FBL BOY Award. THOMPSON hit for a .356 average while collecting 126 hits, 15 doubles, 2 triples, 16 home runs, 60 RBIs and scoring 79 times.

A huge fire breaks out on the wharf in Riverbottom district following a ‘Burn Your Emo Records’ rally. Riverbottom loses its ballpark (The River’s Edge)and all equipment in the fire. Options as to the future are uncertain, but likely include some sort of ground-sharing arrangement with nearby FBJ outfit Riverside.
