Double Dola,
Just heard LeBron's interview. Called it the "second time a fan has given a home team a loss." Funny stuff.

2. I never said you said he wasnt valuable. I think it is silly to debate this issue as if it should be a question about how valuable he is. 3. Isnt this the very point you were arguing against Garnett? He puts up big numbers but doesnt do what needs to be done in the 4th quarter and playoffs. I cant think of many "clutch" performers that have taken themselves out of a game with it tied and 1.8 seconds left down 0-2 in a ployoff series. Mr Jordan was on hiatus at this time so perhaps Scottie was feeling the heat. Last edited by jbergey22; 01-31-2008 at 10:21 AM. |

1. That isn't necessary. You stated this:
Quote:
2. Fair enough. To be more specific, your lone argument for Garnett was that this season should prove it to everybody(that his value is at the elite level I'm not willing to give). My point is that nothing he's done so far is the least bit relevant to my argument, which is that he's not the kind of player who carries a team to a championship. He can prove that right or wrong only in the playoffs, and since we aren't there yet, he could score 50 points a game and it would be irrelevant to what I've stated. Therefore it's what he's done in past years that is relevant to it. 3. First of all, you don't judge any player on what happens in one game. I haven't done that to Garnett, and I won't do it to Pippen either or anybody else. In fact I have explicity argued in this thread against such arguments. Secondly, the only reason I brought up Pippen's accomplishments was in response to what you said(that Scottie just rode Jordan's coattails). You are correct that it isn't relevant to his ability to be an elite player, and I've never included him in that class. I don't think it's necessary to be one to comment on whether or not someone else is. I think having played with Jordan and against a number of other great players is plenty for Pippen to have some credibility in recognizing whether or not Garnett has that same level of effect on a game. I also think his argument is rather strongly supported by the facts of KG's career. |

The Jazz improve to an NBA's best 16-2 since acquirring Kyle Korver from the 76ers. Korver also dropped 27 points and sealed the win for the Jazz tonight against divsion rival Denver Nuggets to lead the Jazz to their 10th straight win.

Geez, the 24-39 Charlotte Bobcats are TWO games out of 8th place in the East and the Bucks (23-41) are just 3.5 games back...

168-116 was the final.
Nothing like dropping 116 and losing by 52 points. |

I'll even give them good odds on winning a round this year. Wonder how long it's been since they got to the conference semis ...
In other news, Minnesota's Marko Jaric sheds light on why the T-Wolves stink. Apparently he thinks that there are either three ends to a court, or that you only are supposed to rebound on one of them, as after their most recent loss he had this to say as they were beaten 58-38 on the galss: "We lost the game on the rebounding end of the court." |

Has anyone been watching Sonics - Nuggets? I can't but following the score on espn it looks like it's been an incredible game.
Durant hit a 3 to send it into OT and then another to send it into double OT. Currently 144-139 Sonics with 2:42 left in 2nd OT. |
