TT 2897: (doesn't matter whether you ask Bench Coach or Manager for lineups, because they both give the same lineup). Flagged 'Cannot Reproduce':

Reproduced. I think there is a deeper issue here, which is that the Manager Strategy sliders do not have the desired effect, which is why both Coaches give the same depth charts. I generated two catchers, with ratings of 100 in all categories except Power and Speed:

Ron Power: had 1s in all speed ratings, and 100 for Power;
Miguel Speed: had 200s in all speed ratings, and 31 or 32 in Power.

When I set Miguel's Power to 31, the Manager opted to insert Ron as the starting catcher. When I set Miguel's Power to 32, the Manager opted to insert Miguel as the starter. It made no difference how I set the Manager's strategy sliders (Favor Speed/Favor Power had no effect), and I tried a variety of extreme combinations. The Bench Coach also always offered the same lineup as the Manager, regardless of his Strategy slider settings.

TT 2677 ('FaceGen coaches are never African-American'). Flagged: Cannot Reproduce

and

TT 2678 ('All Coaches assigned African ethnicity'). Flagged: Cannot Reproduce:

Cannot reproduce. I've certainly got 'Facial Type' = African, Hispanic, Caucasian and Asian among my coaches, with correspondingly diverse photos when generating FaceGen pics.

TT 2664 (change 'base on balls' to 'walks'). Flagged: Cannot Reproduce.

Cannot reproduce. There is no reference to 'base on balls' (or any variant) in the xml file, so if this text does ever appear in-game, it's hardcoded.

TT 2214 (misspelling in news message). Flagged: Cannot Reproduce:

Cannot reproduce, presumably fixed. I'm guessing, from the titles of the jpegs in the TT log, that 'awkward' was misspelled 'ackward' in an off-field injury news message. The spelling 'ackward' appears nowhere in the xml file's injury news, nor in the off_field_injuries.txt file, so this must have been fixed a while ago.

This was supposed to be a change to the token [%pitching bb word] or some other variation of [... bb word]. To check it need to check news stories that mention how many walks a pitcher gave up.

TT 1942 (text cut off in Functions display of League Setup on Mac). Flagged: Cannot Reproduce.

Cannot reproduce. I'm on Mac, and there is no truncated or spill-over text in the Functions display. I'd presume this was fixed a while back.

TT 1939 (FA compensation doesn't work; team should receive a 2nd rnd pick when 1st rounder is protected). Flagged: Cannot Reproduce.

Reproduced. This is trivial to reproduce; sign a Type A free agent from a team in the bottom half of the standings. It's my understanding that there is no intention to fix FA compensation this year, so this should instead go into the list of things to look at for 2008. As mentioned above, the news messages do now report the possibility that no pick will be awarded, so that should at least prevent some confusion.

TT 336 (no link to player in scouting email). Flagged: Cannot Reproduce.

Cannot reproduce. I checked every scouting email over 10 years of a sim without finding a message which was missing a player link. I also went through all scouting messages I could identify in the xml file, and all seem to have appropriate player links.

TT #2248, Players usually traded for players with similar ages, flagged cannot reproduce

It seems like there are a lot of trades done like this, but not as often as this TT would say.

TT #129

Currently flagged Cannot Reproduce, I think this is because there is no issue. After looking over the CSV files for 5 leagues, I can only conclude that this is a non-issue and can be closed.

Tt 3364: Finances: "Money left for contract extensions" calculations reset.
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=144740

I could not duplicate this error again after several attempts, so I'd say it's confirmed fixed!

Tt 3721:""DFA" box issues with Commish Portal autosim ("Execute" button) and "40 Man Roster" settings "
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=150016

"This has been claimed fixed for the third patch. If after installing the as-yet unreleased patch you continue to have trouble with this issue, please post as such in Tech Support along with the TT number listed above."

I can confirm the key error here (DFA players being released without pop-up warning while using the Commish Portal's "Execute!" autosim feature) is fixed in this patch.

Looks like the DFA days range option was also increased from 2-21 to 2-30 days. You still cannot adjust the DFA days period with the 40 man roster rule disabled, but you can temporarily enable the 40 man roster rule, change the number of DFA days, then disable the 40 man roster rule again and the number DFA days you selected is used by the game. I'm not 100% positive that functionality was there before this patch, but either way that's a good thing.

Ahh, this is related to the above post as well...

TT#3742: Change Max DFA time
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=150580

Confirmed fixed. The DFA days range in the patch is increased from 2-21 days up to 2-30 days.

Tt 3363: Finances: Gate revenue calculations error
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=144739

Disposition: Can't reproduce the issue.
I can't reproduce the issue anymore either even though I posted the original bug. I suspect the I got the gate revenue error after editing financials during the season.

That said, there are still several game errors that occur if you run an low salary league that replicates either old-time baseball or modern semi pro baseball, and these key issues are what prompted my original gate revenue post.

If you set league average attendance to 50 and average ticket price to $0.50 the game appears to use this input for season #1 but ignores it after that season and uses some hard coded minimum values instead of the user input.

Below is a screenshot from a league with average attendance set to 50, an average ticket price of $0.50, and 15 home games scheduled (short season semi-semi-pro baseball league). The user is not allowed to edit the merchandising $ figure (annoying, but not exactly a bug), but the other info the user is supposed to be able to control is obviously not correct here. The average attendance per game is over 6,000 people, not very close to 50 per game I set up when creating the league!

It seems to me as long as the game uses hard coded minimum attendance numbers like this (the game won't allow average attendance under about 5,000 per game) it will be impossible to replicate finances in old baseball leagues or modern semi-pro leagues. It also looks like the merchandising revenue ignores the users input for team incomes so this needs to either have some correlation to the user-set media revenue, or be another editable league finance setting (or dump merchandise revenue completely to simply things - maybe combining it with media revenue).

This also means you can set your ticket price to $100,000 per game, and earn about $500 million for every home game you play, because you're guaranteed a minimum attendance of 4000-5000 (you can, however, max out the numbers and things roll over to negatives). I reported this issue, but it came back as 'not supported or impossible':

http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=148762

Obviously, as Killebrew points out, there are other undesirable consequences of the game design here, besides the simple financial exploit I reported.

TT 3855 - Number of Leagues showing on Database Info screen

Regressed.

Nutlaw says in TS that this was fixed in the third patch, but it was where I first noticed it (and then tried it again in the previous version and got the same result).

Guys, I'm still here, I appreciate your work. I've been more than a little swamped lately, plus I threw my back out and have been mostly out of commission for 3 days or so.

If any beta testers (from the regular team) are hanging around, I'd certainly appreciate it if someone could update TT based on recent posts, that would be a huge help!

Thanks!

Steve
