Anyone have experiance with JUST the Gameday audio? For a low bandwidth out of country dude it seems like a ridiculous bargain for $15 (We get the Fox, ESPN games live, or if ESPN is showing something else, late at night.) to listen to all the Red Sox games for the rest of the year...

If I am in a hotel with crappy wireline, the MLB audio works great for me. PLus you get to choose between the home and away audio. For $15, its well worth the money if the video isn't an option.

You can't get much better than listening to Uecker doing Brewers play-by-play, unless you're also watching the game at the same time (on the tube with the sound off). If you have TiVo, it's easy enough to sync up the audio with the video.

I'm only at a place with broadband 50/50 of the time, so I wouldn't get full use from the video.

MLB.tv has been a steaming pile of horse dung lately. I haven't been able to watch more than 5 minutes of a game at a time in the last week. After watching a 5 minute portion of the game, the video and audio freeze while the timer on my media player keeps going. So I have to restart the media player and fast forward to the place where the player froze the last time. After about five minutes of watching, it freezes again. Frustrating as all hell. Even GameDay Audio does it as well. What a SOC.

I like being able to watch games, but until this thing works better and they have a better system for Mac, I don't think I'll be ordering again. I'll keep trying for this season but if it still won't work in a week or so, I'll have half a mind to ask for half of my money back.

I had MLB.COM 2 years ago and was not very happy with it then. So, I skipped it all of last year. I went ahead and signed up for it this year when I saw the premium was 20 bucks a month.

Generally, the video is better than 2 years ago, but it still pisses me off that I can't watch any games on Saturday or Sunday. I also cannot watch any Tampa or Florida games. I am near Orlando, over an hours drive to Tampa and over 3 hours to the Florida park. I should be able to watch both games.

The mosaic option is cool, but it is a CPU hog and watching 6 games at a time is crap, even with the high bandwidth I have. It is mainly the CPU that the program sucks up.

It is interesting to watch a game from the other team's POV and see how they talk when they are getting their butts beat.

I also notice that when watching the Tigers, one of the cameramen always gets a shot of some babe eating a hot dog.

And if anyone is curious, it appears MLB radio is free for annother week or so.

Which was great, 'cept the last BoSox game a was all static.

And the ads, man, what is up with your ads?

That's okay. I think I'd rather listen to the static anyway.

Seems as though the "issue" has been resolved. I've been able to watch the last three Braves games without interruption. Hopefully it stays this way. I do still wish their Mac support was better.

My mom and sister were recently at the Tigers game in Texas where we killed them 10-0. So, since I am a premium user I decided to go watch that game so I could see if I could see mom. A couple fouls were hit near them where they could see the stitches on the ball as they ducked for cover. I wanted to do a screen cap of mom and sis at the game.

So, what happens. I find the game, I go to watch it and I have jumbled video. The game was on 6-6, so if someone can check it and see it works for them. I am going to try again and if it fails, they will get a nasty message from me.

Has anyone else been getting their MLB.tv games in letterbox format lately? The last two games I've watched (one a Padres broadcast and the other a Fox broadcast) have both been in letterbox format and it's kind of annoying on my 4:3 screen.

The July 7th Braves/Padres game (televised on Fox) and the July 6th Braves/Padres game (televised on the Padres station). I also checked out the July 7th Twins/White Sox game (which was also a Fox broadcast) and it was in the letterbox format as well. However, I tried the July 7th Milwaukee/Washington game and that one was in the 4:3 aspect ratio. Seems weird.

I've noticed that all SD games broadcast on Channel 4 in SD come in letterbox on MLB.tv/ So do almost all White Sox games on CSN.

Seems like Fox is doing it now too. They didn't used to. It kind of sucks watching a game like that on a computer.

dola,

When you watch the Padres or White Sox game in fullscreen, do you watch them on a widescreen monitor? If so, how do they look?

So when I watch games on my MacBook Pro, I watch them on my small 4:3 external monitor so I can work on my main screen while I watch the game. I tried watching one of those letterbox games in fullscreen mode on my widescreen notebook display and it only uses portion of the screen. You'd think since MLB.tv is meant to be run on a computer that they would at least make the video so you could truly watch it fullscreen. Granted, most of the games still come in the standard 4:3 format but still, if I were a Padres fan I'd be pretty annoyed.

Actually, I'm not a Padres fan and I'm still rather annoyed.
