As someone who owns a thoroughbred currently and had had to have one put down in the past, I can tell you that it's more than 'just a horse' to the owners and trainer - and in that way I know what they're going through. Though not remotely on the same level. Winning the Derby is pretty much the dream of any thoroughbred owner, and this horse helped them accomplish it.

I'm always bemused by this attitude. "Look at me! I'm tasteless and offensive by choice! But I've got standards, see, so I can still feel superior to anyone who pisses me off."

Man up, dude. If you're determined to prove a villain, be a plain-dealing one, and knock it off with the namby-pamby "I have standards" bull**** and have the stones to be really bad.

What does that have to do with the price of tea in China? It's not as though the option was to save the horse or save the jockey.

Yeah i agree. I have heard from people that i know to have owned horses, that it takes a lot of work and care to keep a horse. A lot more care than a cat and a lot more expensive. But as for caring about Barbaro i dont really see any problem with it though i have seen animals on "animal planet" that have been abused that i would have more sympathy for.

agreed, and frankly the ASPCA tends to have slightly fewer available funds to pay for, as Yahoo put it "a skilled team of veterarians", to fix said animal, whether it be a injured ferret or a injured horse.

Its absolutely ones right to feel sympathy for the horse (which I have not made one comment on), as its mine or JWay's to not feel much at all for it.

"Yes, even as we're sitting here, people are having sex with animals. That's right. And then we wonder why the animals attack us. I'll tell you why. Cause one man is ******' 'em and rilin' 'em. And it's up to me and a half indian to track 'em.......When I was in Pennsyvania a man was arrested for having sex with a cow. He was arrested. That means he had been warned many, many times, but he couldn't fight the urges. I would never have sex with a cow, cause it's WRONG! And I am lactose intolerant. I wouldn't do it. You gotta know your body. What? What animal would I have sex with? A horse. Yes. Cause that's a beautiful animal. And when you **** a horse, you know you always have a ride home."
