Not really; unlike Americans who support the English, Québecers don't really support France. Most of my friends supported Northern or Central European teams, actually. There's a pretty big (and loud) Italian community in Montréal, and about 90% of the flags I saw on cars in the past three days have been Italian flags.

I don't know that football is really popular outside of Montréal. There still would've been a very loud noise generation had the French won, but now the streets are full of members of the Italian community who just encourage their nation even thouh a week ago they couldn't name a player other than Totti
