The players...

Raul Miranda was activated and put onto the playoff roster. Ernest Lindner was then taken off and Steve Rush was left on as a late innings corner defense guy and RH power bat off the bench.

Game 1

2022 WORLD SERIES GAME 1

Boston Bombers (Pat Kelley 17-8 3.80)
@
Chicago Iron Pigs (Stan Hall 16-5 3.62)

Teams trade triples through 3. Travis Goulds 2 out triple in the 2nd drives in Troy Becker and Dennis Ash drives in Andre Blakeway with an RBI ground out in the 3rd, after Blakeway's leadoff 3B. 1-1 through 3 full. Kelly at 43 pitches, Hall 46.

Stan Hall works out of runner on 3rd less than 2 out jams in both the 5th and 6th innings, getting huge K's both times. He's gone 6-6-1-1-0-8 on 85 pitches so far.
Kelley keeps the Iron Pig offense quiet until Martinez drills a 1 out solo shot in the bottom of the 6th to make it 2-1 Chicago at the end of 6.
The wheels come off for Hall in the 7th after a Becker 2B to lead it off, a walk and 2 hits and the pens inability to escape the jam leave us down 5-2 into the bottom of the 7th.
Kelley would go 8, on 107 pitches, and yield just the 2 runs as Jake Ellison would get the final 3 outs for a game 1 win.

Game 2

2022 WORLD SERIES GAME 2

Boston Bombers (Cody Miller 14-8 3.01)
@
Chicago Iron Pigs (Roberto Martinez 6-9 5.05)

In a 0-0 game Sukejuro Kato delivers a 2 run single with 2 outs in the 3rd, and Cody Miller has held Chicago to a lone Salinas single through 3. 2-0 Boston.
In the 4th the Bombers make hay. John Lewis takes Martinez to deep left with 1 out and 2 on in the 4th to make it 5-0 after 4.
Martinez settles in and Jeffrey Hudson's RBI ground out makes 5-1, but in the top of the 6th Martinez comes out after leaving 2 on and R Bowers takes reliever Eddie Pacheco to deep left too, making it 8-1. Shaw homers in the bottom half making it 8-2 after 6.
Things would get no better from there, as Boston would batter the pen for 5 more en route to a 13-4 drubbing in game 2.

Thanks hfield. Or should I just call you 007.

Yeah... you can just upload your Leagues entire HTML package to an online host and then everyone can just browse your league at their leisure.

Pretty damn cool if you ask me.

Well ya, they could but I REALLY want OOTP to become a great game with a larger audience, and I think, and I could be totally wrong, when I do mention it and people link to this site, the game gets a bit more awareness. I have a very soft spot in my heart for software developers who create labors of love, which this game is.

2022 world series game 3

LEAGUE NEWS
Rolen, Green Bay agree
32 year old 3B Scott Rolen and the Green Bay Blizzard have agreed to terms on a 3 year 57M dollar extension. He's spent his entire 8 years in Green Bay. A 2 time all star, 4 time gold glove winner he led the FL in WAR in 2019.

Chicago Iron Pigs (Jorge Trujillo 16-10 4.26)
@
Boston Bombers (Colin Durham 18-6 2.89)

Well this series, and season, appears to be on Jorge Trujillo again. Dumbfounded at how poorly the clubs pitched these first two games. The Achilles heel, the pen, was an issue all year long and it's flared up again, at the worst possible time. HAVE to win this one to even think of having a shot.

0-0 game through 3, 1 total hit, by Boston. Durham's perfect, with 4 punchouts, Trujillo's walked 1 and K'd 1 with the games only hit coming from 3B Corey Oliver in the 2nd.

Durham holds us hitless into the 6th before Andre Blakeways 2 out single, which is all, he's at 72 pitches, 1 hit and 8 K's.
Trujill ALMOST matching him, but with 1 out in the 6th Orlando Rios drills a solo shot to deep right to make it 1-0. Trujillo's line 6-4-1-1-1-5, 82 pitches, season hanging on next 9 outs...
Hugh Collins leads off the 7th with a solo blast to know the game st 1. Trujillo goes 3 up 3 down in the bottom half, and Durham works around a slight bump in the road in the top of the 8th.
Durham's line 8-4-1-1-1-9 100 pitches even.
Trujillo, with 1 out in the bottom half, gives up a 2B to Kato, and there's a VERY long meeting on the mound with switch hitter Rios up, he's 2-3 with a 2B and a HR tonight, Trujillo's at 105 pitches and close to done....
Bill Jones enters with 1 out, runner on 2nd, Rios turned around to the left side, his weaker side.
Damn. He rips a 1st pitch 2B to deep center... 2-1 Boston. Carlson comes in to face the lefty Johnston, and walks him.
With Tucker getting the call from the pen, Robert Bowers pinch hits, 1st and 2nd 1 out. Tucker gets him on strikes, and retires Troy Becker on a fielders choice. Onto the 9th, down 2-1...damn damn damn.
Ellison will get Chavez, Shaw and Salinas. Likely a PH or 2 for the left handed Ellison.
Ernesto Martinez PH's for Chavez and draws a leadoff walk...
Do we bunt? Top 9? 0 outs, if we do, and it's successful, Salinas gets the free pass...
We don't, and PH Steve Rush... Who Ellison punches out looking on a 1-2 pitch.
Pedro Salinas up....
He lines a medium fly ball to left center, 2 outs.
Alex Vela to hit for Jackson...
And he pops to right to end it.....

2022 world series game 4

Chicago Iron Pigs (Stan Hall 2-2 3.77)
@
Boston Bombers (Adam Shirley 2-1 3.63)

Stan Hall is coming back on 3 days rest, has to. If we can find a way to win this we'll figure out the rest.

Pedro Salinas scores in the 2nd on a Sukejuro Kato error to open the scoring.
1-0 into the 3rd when Salinas hits a sac fly, scoring Luis Chavez who'd stolen 3rd on the pitch before after his 1 out walk and Shaw single. 2-0 after 3 full.

Halls thrown 46 pitches, K'd 5, given up 1 hit, Shirley 52 pitches, 3 hits 2 runs, 1 earned, 2 walks 2 K's.
Both pitchers clamp it down over the next 3, Halls gone 6-2-0-0-0-8 on 95 pitches, Shirley 6-3-2-1-3-3 on 87. 2-0 after 6.

Game enters the bottom of 8, 2-0. Vinicius Montaury leads off with a solo HR off Hall to make it 2-1. After a Woodard ground out Kato singles, ending Halls day. No fooling around, Casas is called in now.

He gets Orlando Rios on a liner to short, then proceeds to walk Johnston and Bowers to load the bases.

On a full count pitch Troy Becker freezes and is rung up to end the 8th, 2-1. Stan Halls line 7.1-5-1-1-0-11 115 pitches.

Shirley ends his day going 7.1-4-2-1-3-3.

Onto the bottom of 9.
John Lewis stroked a 1-2 pitch to left center, and it falls for a leadoff double!
Karl Christian goes 1-2, and flails wildly for the k, 1 out.
Montaury gets to 1-2 and goes down swinging as well, 2 outs.
And with 2 outs, Casas goes 1-2 on John Woodard and punches him out to end the game!

2022 WORLD SERIES GAME 5, wow, just...wow...

Holy crap....

Chicago Iron Pigs (Roberto Martinez 0-1 4.38)
@
Boston Bombers (Pat Kelley 2-1 2.05)

The “plan” is to bring Martinez back on 3 days as well, any signs of trouble and we bring Rea into the game early. If we can manage, then we bring Trujillo back for game 6, and Hall, if the impossible happens, for a game 7.
Orlando Rios launched a 2 out 2R HR in the bottom of the 1st and after 3 full the score remains 2-0.
Kelley has gone 3-2-0-0-2-1 on 49 pitches, Martinez 3-3-2-2-1-1 on 39.

With 1 out in the 4th Ernesto Martinez singles and Luis Chavez comes around to make it 2-1. Martinez gets through the bottom half but needs 23 pitches to do it.
Hamlyn leads off the 5th with a single, steals 2nd and scores on Blakeway's RBI single 2 pitches later.
Salinad flies out and Miranda walks when Chavez singles to load the bases.
Steve Rush drives a 2-2 pitch to the gap, scoring 2 on the double and making it 4-2 at the end of 4.
Martinez gets Gould to start the 5th, and then Olver singles, Kato doubles scoring him, Woodard singles scoring Kato, and that should have been it. It's 4-4.
But the hesitancy to get into the pen kills us as Martinez stays and Orland Rios singles scoring Woodard to make it 5-4. Mike Johnston then doubles to put runners at 2nd and 3rd to finally end Martinezs' day.
Matt Tucker gets Becker swinging, Pacheco walks Lewis to load the bases and Cruz comes in and gets Bowers swinging to end the 5th, but the lead was blown, 5-4 after 5.
Kelley gets through the 6th, and in the bottom Oliver singles with 1 out, steals 2nd and Kato singles him in on a 1-2 pitch. 2 pitches later Woodard doubles, 7-4, Carlson in. He gets out of the inning with no further damage, but there's a sense we blew our chance...
With 1 out in the bottom of the 7th John Lewis drills a 1st pitch to deep right for a homer to make it 8-4, and Bomber fans are sensing it...
Munemori Nii is now on.
After Ash k's to start it, Shane Jackson hits for Vela, and walks, Hudson hits for Hamlyn, and walks, bringing on Toshikuni Shimizu.
Andre Blakeway singles to load the bases.
Pedro Salinas then walks to force in a run, 8-5.
Shimizu k's Miranda on a 3-2 pitch, an absolutely crucial AB as lefty Leonard Mathis is waiting for Chavez.
On a 1-2 pitch, Luis Chavez hits a ball to deep right center, both outfielders converge but the ball keeps on going! Chavez has belted a 2 out 2 strike GRAND SLAM to put us up 9-8!!
Bill Jones comes on in the bottom half, and gets Corey Oliver to fly out.
Kato walks and Andre is on to face Woodard, who hits into a FC.
Casas, as tired as he is, is called on to get Orlando Rios, and he does on 1 pitch.

Ellison comes on for the 9th, and Martinez doubles to lead it off, after Ash and Jackson punch out Hudson laces a 2 out 1st pitch single to drive in Martinez, 10-8 heading to the bottom half.

Casas gets Johnston swinging for the 1st out.
Troy Becker singles in the hole at first on a 1-0 pitch.
John Lewis taps a 1-1 pitch to 1st for the 2nd out.
Robert Bowers then lines a 1-0 pitch to deep center! Ash misplays it and Bowers ends up on 3rd with a standup triple! 10-9, runner on 3rd, 2 outs, bottom of the 9th..
Are you kidding me?
Robert Bowers lines the 1st pitch he sees to right for a game tying single... 10-10....
Gould steals 2nd.... 0-1 count...
And then flies to left to end the 9th, 10-10 heading to extra innings.
With 2 outs in the 10th, Luis Chavez gets a 2-1 fastball and slams it to deep right field for a tie breaking solo HR of Jake Ellison!
11-10 to the bottom of 10.
Kato leads off with a routine grounder to short, 1 out.
John Woodard works a 1 out walk.
Orlanod Rios taps a slow roller back to the mound, Casas gets Woodard at 2nd, 2 outs.
And on a 2-2 pitch Casas retires Mike Johnston to end the best world series game I've ever played....

WORLD SERIES GAME 6

Boston Bombers (Cody Miller 3-0 0.98)
@
Chicago Iron Pigs (Jorge Trujillo 3-1 2.79)

I'm waffling on whether or not to start Rea or Trujillo. Trujillo hasn't got the deep game stamina when he's fully rested, no idea how this might effect him. He's at 82% now, with 3 days off. Maybe I go with Rea and at the 1st sign of trouble get Trujillo in? Problem is Cody Miller might not leave much of an opening.
I'm sleeping on this one, too nervous to play right now after that last game....

I'd just start Rea. If you're saying Trujillo doesn't have a ton of stamina to begin with and then is on short rest I wouldn't risk a meltdown or injury. Use him in relief if it looks like you might go down more than a couple at any point. if rea does well you have trujillo game 7 (assuming hall wouldn't be ready).

Hope you avoid a 4th straight one run game haha.

Cody Miller is owning you. You can't risk Rea giving up anything early... you won't come back from it.

You're in 'must win' territory now. Go with Trujillo... he gives you the best chance to win, which to be honest, isn't all that great.

If you lose because Rea gets shelled early, you'll kick yourself.

World series game 6

One of you was exactly right...

Boston Bombers (Cody Miller 3-0 0.98)
@
Chicago Iron Pigs (Orlando Rea 3-0 4.26)

Orlando Rea gets the nod. Trujillo is ready in the pen but it's Rea's game.

Rea runs into trouble in the 2nd, a leadoff double by Rios and an RBI single by Lewis makes it 1-0. Gould doubles with 2 outs and it's 2-0 after 2.
Kato leads off the 3rd with a single and with 1 out Johnston triples, Rios sac fly makes it 4-0 and the pen can't get ready fast enough. Rea's day is done after 3, 3-0 into the 4th. Miller has gone 3-2-0-0-2-3 on 51 pitches.
Trujillo manages to stem the tide, going 3-1-0-0-0-3 but Cody Miller is on, after 6 his line is 6-3-0-0-4-3 on 88 pitches.
4-0 into the 7th.
After a walk and an out in the 7th Miller leaves for righty Roy Reynolds. Who gets Ramon Castro to hit into an inning ending double play.
Trujillo works around a 1 out walk as Rios grounds into his own inning ending double play, onto the 8th.
Trujillo gets them in order and with 1 out and a runner on Hugh Collins slams a 2R homer to deep right, making it 4-2 at the end of 8. Trujillo has gone 5-2-0-0-1-6 on 67 pitches. Shimizu in the game to end the 8th after the Collins HR.
Trujillo works around a single with a CS and a K. He went 6-3-0-0-1-7 in a dominant appearance, but it might have been to little too late...

Pedro Salinas flies to left to lead off the 9th vs Jake Ellison.
Alex Vela PH's for Shane Jackson...
And he flies to deep center, down to our last out...
Mirand goes 1-1...
Chops the ball to short, Bowers charges, across the diamond to Gould, and the Boston Bombes are the 2022 IBL World Champions!

2022 World Series MVP Sukejuro Kato 10-26 6 Runs 3 2B's 5 RBI's 2 SB's

I used to have a Championship Banner template that I used for several people... but I can't find the dang thing. So hopefully this will give you something shiny to look at...
