Jan Delport Rating 1 South Africa HW 1967-71 3 wins / 6 losses / 0 draws / 2 KO Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto Knocked out Boet Viljoen in his first bout in August 1967. Fought once in 1968 a little more then a year later, loosing by 3rd round TKO to Sarel Aucamp. Delport then fought 5 times in 1969 loosing a 4 round decision to Japie Pretorius(13-15-0,7KO) who would later in 1969 win the South African HW title over Gerry de Bruyn, only to loose it to Sarel Aucamp in 1970.. Delport then stopped Chris Roos in the 2nd round in August 1969. In a tournament final of some kind in later in August he was stopped in the first round by Jimmy Richards but came back on the same day to win a 5 round decision over Johnny Britz who was fighting for the first time. In November 1969 Delport was KO'd in the 5th round by Gerry de Bruyn in a bout for the Transvaal HW Title. One fight came in 1970, a 6 round decision loss to Johnny Blitz and then finally Delport's career ended in August 1971 with a 2nd round TKO loss to Mike Schutte. Got to make you wonder if there's just a lot of his career not known at this time. Dewald De Waal Rating 2 South Africa HW 1964-67 4 wins / 7 losses / 1 draw / 2 KO Alias: Dewald Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto Made a career out of fighting Billy Lotter and Gerry de Bruyn. Willemse had held the South African HW Title in 1963 but then lost in in February 1964 to Billy Lotter. From March 1965 through October 1967 De Waal would then go on to fight Billy Lotter twice, loosing a 12 round decision to him in March 1965 for the South African HW title and later lost a 10 round decision to Lotter in November 1965 after Lotter had lost the South African title to de Bruyn. De Waal and de Bruyn fought 6 times including De Waal's last 4 career fights. De Bruyn won a 10 round decision in June 1965 for the Transvaal HW Title. Three months later De Waal beat de Bruyn in a 6 round, non title fight decision. In January 1966 they fought a 10 round draw. Then in June 1966 in a bout for the South African HW title, de Bruyn defeated De Waal in a 12 round decision. In February 1967 in another non title bout, De Waal was stopped in 5 rounds by de Bruyn, the one and only time De Waal was stopped in a fight. Then in October 1967 De Waal finished his career after he lost another 12 round decision to de Bruyn again for the South African HW title. Last edited by Rocco Del Sesto; 10-13-2006 at 02:25 PM. |

Giuseppe Della Torre Rating 3 South Africa
HW 1966-67 4 wins / 0 losses / 0 draws / 2 KO Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto Won 2, 4 round decisions against LHW Steve Lewis(0-4-0) in November 1966, then knocked out Chris Botha in February 1967 and TKO'd in 4, Dick Kukard in a week later in February 67. Tom Miller Rating 1 South Africa HW 1964-71 4 wins / 12 losses / 2 draws / 2 KO Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto Miller's career started out ok though he didn't fight all that afton, from 1964 thru 1966 his record was 4-2-1,2KO. His losses were against Dewald De Wall and Gerry de Bruyn. On February 1st, 1967 he fought de Bruyn for the South African HW Title. de Bruyn KO'd Miller in the 7th round. That started an 0-10-1 slide over the remainder of his career. Miller fought de Bruyn twice more in 1967, the first time an 8 round draw in JUne and then again in July a title match with de Bruyn winning by TKO in the 7th round. Eight more losses from 1968 thru 71, four by stoppages included twice to Japie Pretorius(13-15-0,7KO), twice to Dawie du Preez, twice to Johnny Britz and once each to Jimmy Richards and Chris Roos. Ezrom Ngcobo Rating 1 South Africa HW 1954-69 8 wins / 8 losses / 1 draw / 1 KO Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto Never stopped in a fight, looking at the breaks in his career as it is now in boxrec you wonder how imcomplete it is and what his whole career maybe was. In December 1954 and July/August 1955 defeated an Elliott Arnold(1-3-0) three times for the South African Non-White LHW Title, all by 12 round decisions. In single fights shown in 1955, 56 and 57 he lost three, 12 round decisions to a Willie Khongwane the first and third bouts being title fights. Ngcobo's record shows one fight in 1958, a 6 round decision loss to a Phineas Khumalo. We then don't see anything for Ngcobo till June 1964 when he wins back the South African Non-White HW Title which is vacant at this time. He defeats a Samson Zwane(0-2-0) in a 12 rounder. Ngcobo successfully defends the title a couple months later beating Remington Dyanty in another 12 round decision. and then defends it again in November beating Zwane a second time in 12 rounds. Exrom fights once in December 1966 winning a 6 rounder against a LHW Black Shamba(0-1-0). In July and October 1967 he fights Mohamed Afonso twice, loosing 10 round decisions both times to Afonso. In December 1967 Ngcobo and Remington Dyanty fight for Ngcobo's heavyweight title, this time Dyanty taking the 12 round decision. In September 1969 Ngcobo fights Gerry de Bruyn to an 8 round draw then in October 1968 he wins back the South African Non-White HW title knocking out Dyanty in the 7th round, the only fight in Ngcobo's career that doesn't go the scheduled distance. One more fight is on record for Ngcobo then in May 1969, he and Dyanty square off again with Dyanty winning a 6 round decision in a non title fight. |

New 1967 Heavyweight Replay Project
Francisco San Jose Rating 1 Spain
HW 1966-69 14 wins / 12 losses / 3 draws / 10 KO Birthplace: Toro, Zamora, Spain Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto First two fights shown in boxrec for Francisco are in January and June 1966, both indicated as Spanish HW Title fights against Mariano Echevarria. Francisco won the first go round, by a 12 round decision. In the rematch in June though, Echevarria stopped Francisco in the 6th round. Francisco never again fought for the Spanish title though in January 1968 he fought against and defeated Benito Canal in a 10 round decision in an eliminator for the Spanish HW title, but there's no indication he went on to fight for the title. Over the course o the next 3 years Francisco won fights against Angel Grela(5-9-0,5KO) twice, Echevarria twice more in 1967 in fights on consecutive days in June, Canal that one time along with two 8 round draws against Canal, Jose Luis Velasco, and Emil Svaricek. His other wins were against LHW's and total nobodys. Losses included againts Canal twice, Ray Anderson, JOhnny Prescott three times, Velasco, Eduardo Corletti, Luis Folledo, Raimo Nisula, Joe Shelton, and Piermario Baruzzi. Jose Luis Velasco Rating 1 LHW and HW Spain LHW 1963-66, HW 1966-72 12 wins / 10 losses / 2 draws / 3 KO Hometown: Madrid, Spain Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto From 1963 thru April 1966 Velasco fought in the LHW division mainly. He started out with an 8 round decision loss to Francisco Barmudez whom Velasco would fight four times in the next 3 years for the Spanish LHW title. After three wins, Velasco and Bermudez squared off for the first time for that title going to a 12 round draw. After a KO win over Joe Palooka and a KO loss to Vittorio Saraudi, Velasco and Bermudez fought again for the LHW title, this time Velasco won the crown with a 12 round decision. After a 10 round decision over Jo Juvillier in December 1964 he successfully defended his title against Bermudez in Feb 1965 with another 12 round decision. After that, Velasco made an attempt to move up to the big boys and faced Benito Canal in April 1965 for the Spanish HW Title. Canal outpointed Velasco in 12 rounds. For the next year Velasco moved back down to the light heavies and in October 1965 lost his LHW title to Angel Grela(5-9-0,5KO) via 9th round knockout. In December that year, Velasco and Bermudez went at it again, this time with no title on the line and Velasco defeated Bermudez in an 8 round decision. In April 1966 Grela fought Velasco in a rematch with the LHW title on the line and this time Velasco stopped Grela in the 4th round. Two months later in April, Bermudez took on Velasco one last time, but Velasco held on to his LHW title with an 8th round TKO victory. AFter that, Velasco made the move back up to the heavyweight division again where he would finish his career without much success. I did both a LHW and HW version of Velasco even though by 1967 he was in the HW division. |

Almost 6 years later in June 1971 he looses a 4 round decision to Corbett to end his career. Three other fights in 1965 were wins against LHW George Chisenga(12-11-0,8KO) and HW Chris Viljoen. He lost a 6 round decision to HW Harvey McMillan(2-3-0,1) in between those wins. In April 1966 he looses a 6 rounder to Chisenga. In June 1968 Brentnall successfully defends his title against Harvey McMillian in another 12 round decision. There's then no other record shown for Brentnall until the 2nd fight with Corbett in 1971. Harvey McMillan Rating 1 Zambian Heavyweight 1965-68 2 wins / 3 losses / 0 draws / 1 KO Hometown: Kitwe, Zambia Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto Lost 4 round decision to Bob Murray(4-1-0,1) in May 1965 then won a 6 rounder against Brian Brentnall in November 1965. One fight in 1966 in March was a 2nd round TKO victory over a Tarzan City Guy(0-2-1,0). On March 30th, 1967 he fought LHW Killer Patrick(1-2-0,0) for the Mauritian Heavyweight title. Killer Patrick Rating 1 Mauritius Light Heavyweight 1967-72 1 win / 2 losses / 0 draws / 0 KO Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto Won a 10 round decision over Harvey McMillan in on March 30th 1967 to win the Mauritian Heavyweight title. New 1967 Heavyweight Replay Project
Eddie Parotte Rating 1 US Virgin Islands
LHW 1966-69 5 wins / 10 losses / 2 draws / 1 KO Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto From 1966 thru 1969 Parotte fought as a light heavy compiling is 5-10-2,1KO record. After a 4th round KO loss to a A.J. Staples(11-7-0,9KO) in November 1969, Parotte shows no record in the ring until over 8 years later in February 1978. From that time thru May 1979 he compiles a 2-3-0,2KO record fighting as a heavyweight. The last two fights are knockout losses, both in the 3rd round to Lynn Ball and Earnie Shavers. For the purposes of the rating of Parotte as a LHW, these later fights in 78 and 79 are not considered. From 66 thru 69 he fought mostly in his LHW class, though in July 1967 he took on Dave Zyglewicz in Troy New York, only to be stopped by Ziggy in the 4th round. IN May 1968 he lost an 8 round decision to HW William Burton(18-2-1,4KO). Probably his most noteable win was a 10 round decision over Roger Rouse in March 1968. Other wins were over Billy Dolphin(12-3-1,7), Joe Hopkins(36-9-3,16), Frank Niblett(16-44-11,100 and Floyd Casey(5-16-2,3). Losses included to Charlie Green(14-15-0,9), Paul Johnson(8-15-1,6), Andy Kendall and twice to Eddie Jones in 1969 before finishing his LHW career with the loss to Staples. I rated Parotte because of his fight with Zyggy in 67. This is the last of the non US American fighters (as far as what I've found!). So on to the maybe still a few good, the many bad and probably tons of uggly American heavies in 67 ![]() Rocco |

Too bad you are still 2.5 hours away or we could hook up for PPV fights! My son is only a junior so the thread will return to life next year. Nate is gearing up for an offseason where he hopes to tack on 30 lbs. He wants to play HB and Safety next year. Needs to get to about 205 from 175.

Some more 70's fighters. I've been play testing these fighters for over a year of and on.I have 25 or 30 playtested not counting the TC real fighters that i play tested to make out the sch. for the fighters. The way i did it was look the sch. up fine all fighters that was all ready rated then rate the other fighters play test them to get them correct then fill out the rest of the sch.i used career stages and if i knew if a fighter went to fight overweight i used that also then saved sch. and keep playing it over until it was right.August a German fighter i worked on off and on for about 2 weeks.Using career stages didn't work so i had to do 2 ratings 1973-78 and 1980 to end career.I will post 73-78 first you use beginning, pre prime and prime. I will post the other rating later you use this rating from 1980 to end of career you use prime, past prime and end on this rating. There are quite a few fighter that work better that way for better ratings.

Appreciate the guys from the 67 period you've posted. I've been slowly going through BoxRec looking up the American fighters and I see a few names here i'd run across. Any that you've rate are GREATLY appreciated. All I've got are the Americans to go through as far as I know and then I'll start my replay, but, boy there rae a lot of American fighters to filter through! Rocco |
