Yeah he even got knocked down once ... really blew a chance. A couple of months ago McVey took advantage of that kind of chance and now is back in the top 20.

McVey and Jeffries both got caught on a losing streak going into the ratings change over.

I just want to echo Bear's statement, sending the LBA to cornerwork was really cool thing to do. Plus it's been a big help to me in following my cat's progress in SAL's universe as now I have pretty much everyone in the game.

Greggains loses title

October 25, 1910

Fred Russell (5/CH) (16-7) scored a TKO6 over Alec Greggains (CH/3) (13-4-1) for his second win over Alec and to win the WBA Lightheavyweight title.

It was a bloody match with Greggains bleeding from a broken nose the entire fight. Russell won every round but a couple were pretty close. Russell started bleeding from over the left eye in the 5th. Greggains nose just got too bad in the 6th and the fight was stopped.

I had it 50-45.

On the undercard

WW - Matt Wells (UR) (10-0) UD8 Tommy Coleman (club) (5-20) 78-74 (wells at pre for this club fight ... Coleman stepped up to WW, Wells goes to main after win)

FW - Billy Whistler (club) (12-15-5) UD10 Jack Roberts (club) (7-14-1) (club fight)

Nice, to see Dempsey advance. Man, I really hope that cat can grab ahold of the belt and hold up to it for awhile.

Briggs wins by KO

October 30, 1910

Jimmy Briggs (CH) (16-10-5) scored a KO11 over Billy Snailham (7/8) (16-5) for his first defense of the WBC Featherweight title. His WBA title was not on the line. (snailham was at pre for this title fight)

Snailham came out fast and won the first round, also causing Briggs' right eye to swell in the first round. That was his highpoint.

Briggs then won the next 6 rounds. Snailham fought close the next 3 rounds but then was dropped 3 times in the 11th not getting up the 3rd time.

I had it 97-93 at the stoppage.

On the undercard

HW - Jack Johnson (3/2) (38-3) TKO5 Bill Curran (54/60) (11-6) (curran at pre)

LW - Eddie Carroll (UR) (10-4) UD10 Tim Collins (UR) (11-1) 99-92 (both at pre, should have been an easy fight for Collins instead he gets dominated)

HW - Denver Ed Martin (37/32) (23-15) TKO9 Cleve Hawkins (94/96) (6th straight win for Martin)

LW - Joe Stein (32/30) (11-5-1) UD10 Jack Dougherty (48/59) (8-7-3) (both at pre)

MW - Billy Gardner (club) (11-19-3) UD8 Billy Manning (UR) (7-7) (manning at pre, gardner at post for this club fight .... Gardner stepped up to MW for this fight)

It was a weird month ... I'm getting alot more undefeated fighters making it to the main division since I started handholding them a little more ... but I still had a lot of undefeated guys lose to low ranked fighters this month.

In one case I had a pre 7 get throughly dominated by a pre 3. So I did lose a couple this month, but Wells and Beecher got through. When I get home tonight I'll see how many total undefeated fighters I have.

Current undefeated

Too many to list by name

35 out of 54 beginners are undefeated
42 out of 237 club fighters are undefeated
29 out of 541 main division fighters are undefeated

so a total of 103 out of 822 fighters are currently sporting a 0 in the loss column
