Tom Burgmeier 68
Here's a photo of Tom Burgmeier from the Angels training camp in 1967. He's holding the Dick Wantz Memorial Award given every spring (since 1966) to the most improved player in camp. Also attached is a photo of Burgmeier with the Colts who originally signed him in 1961 and released him in 1964.

Sam McDowell Indians 1961
This photo is from 1960 right after McDowell signed with the Indians and before he was sent to the minors. I've also attached the original photo from which it was cropped. The guy with McDowell is Indians GM Frank Lane.

Doyle Alexander 1971 - UNI Tigers 1987
cheech mentioned a tough time finding an Alexander/Tigers pic, but I did find this one of Doyle in his home whites (that's a road uniform Cheech found) and better image quality, albeit with a face-shadow issue.

Dooley Womack 1966 - UNI Pilots 1969
(From Doyley to Dooley. Lol.)
Womack's Pilots image in the Pitchers Pack is rather grainy and has a large face/shadow issue. This is an improvement, IMO, if only for both the crisp white home uniform, and the view of beautiful Sicks Stadium as the backdrop. I don't have any clue why Womack is showing off his batting form, though. (Unless he's reminding Seattle fans that he's a far better hitter than Jim "Cancer Bat" Bouton, for whom he was acquired.) |
