Wait, do Germany and Portugal play tomorrow for 3rd? Or am I reading into things incorrectly?

On the Final, I'm hoping Zidane gets the sendoff he deserves for his service to football, but then that means Henry will be a WC winner. Thierry Henry rates the same for me, as Freddy Adu does for Asfl. Thierry Henry vs the Italian strikers...should be one hell of a diving display allround. It's a wonder Henry doesnt play for Chelsea, he'd fit right in.

Supreme irony for Zidane would be yet another sending off for his send off. Both of those teams play a dour stylr of football. They rarely smile and it doesnt seem like they are having fun. Henry actually might be the difference in this match as several teams have had decent chances against the Italians only to miss in the clutch.

On that subject - goal ratios for the final games:

Code:
Overall		Goals	Games	Average
Third Place	59	15	3.93
Final		64	16	4.00

* 17 tournaments - no Third Place Playoff in 1930;
Final Group in 1950

Last Four	Goals	Average
Third Place	15	3.75
Final		6	1.50

IMO neither.
I think he's leaning towards leaving Germany, I base that just on his (non) comments when people tell him everyone in Germany wants him to stay, but I personally don't see him becoming the new USA national coach either.

Because he would've done better than Lehmann on the lone goal? Let me doubt of that. Plus, you know, perhaps Italy would've scored more.

The USA job seems to still be too taboo for any self-respecting European manager I would think, even someone like Klinsmann who lives in USA. For Klinsmann to go to USA would seem like a step backwards in his career IMO.

Why on earth is Wynalda not doing color commentary during matches for the ESPN networks? He's great compared to the bots we've suffered during the WC the few times I've heard him during MLS matches.
