I don't think so, unless he wants to move on. Germany weren't expected to do much at all in this tournament, and have been fairly clearly one of the better teams throughout. I think he has another 4 years, if he wants it.

Germany played better than expected. They had many chances all game but could never put one away.
It is a young team and will grow stronger by Euro 2008 and then the next WC.

Klinsmen will be retained as coach. He is very popular among the players and his assistants will also leave if he is fired.

I think France will end up winning the entire thing. They have been getting stronger game by game and Zidane is playing out of his mind.

I don't much like it, but as long as there's no way for both teams to lose, it's infinitely better than a final between any two of Argentina, Germany, and Italy.

Transfer - looks like a free transfer (although it may be out of contract, I'll get back to you).

EDIT - he is out of contract. So it's a Bosman free transfer.

I guess it is because of his age, that they decided to not offer him a new contract.

He'll join FC Dallas at the start of the MLS transfer window on July 15.
