Benito Archundia of Mexico will referee tonight's game - one all the referees don't particularly want too, because he now knows he won't get to referee the final.

The Signal Iduna Park, or Westfalenstadion, home of Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund will host the first semifinal. It is the largest stadium in Germany when the terracing of the Südtribüne is used at 81,264, although for non-Bundesliga games the terracing is replaced by seats, giving a capacity tonight of 67,000.
![]() Overall, Italy have never lost to Germany in competitive encounters, winning two and drawing four. However, Germany have never lost an international match at the Westfalenstadion - one of those must go tonight. Code:

Borussia Dortmund are saddled with almost $100 mil in debt. They were at one time one of the worlds best clubs. This might be the last big game in this stadium for many years.

I really want Germany to win, but suspect the Italian players have a powerful uniting force driving them on: no Italian court will send World Cup winners to prison for match fixing.

Hope you are right about Germany. The Germans have their own unifying theme with the Frings suspension that plays into the German national sense of paranoia |

Germany, Germany above all,
Above all else in the world, When it always, for protection and defiance, stands together brotherly. From the Meuse to the Neman, From the Adige to the Belt, |: Germany, Germany above all, Above anything in the world. :|
