Cards news: April 2 -- Spring training -- Elbow injury will force Hence to miss start of season
The St. Louis Cardinals have announced that starting pitcher Tink Hence will miss the start of the regular season after he suffered a sprained elbow while pitching in a 5-1 win over the Washington Nationals on April 3.
Hence, 24, is expected to miss about five weeks.
In six starts this spring, Hence had gone 1-1 with a 2.84 ERA.
Last season also saw his 2026 season cut short missing the rest of the campaign after he suffered a injury to his right shoulder on May 8.
