Walker Buehler and the Vancouver bullpen held StL to just 1 run. StL's touted bullpen has shown inconsistency, with Lopez giving up the lead with 2 walks and 2 hits allowed in under 1 inning. Hales replaces Rainer Lopez and was outstanding with 4 K in 2.1 IP.

Fitzgerald, the WCS MVP, keeps his hot bat going in the LDS. He is batting .379-4-18 in 8 postseason games in 2030.

Carolina dispatches Baltimore 4-0 in a surprising sweep.

The West's best team, Monterrey, finds themselves in a stunning 3-0 hole versus Mile High.

Division winner Miami, moves to a 3-1 lead over seasoned Orlando.

James Wood went 0-4, leaving 6 runners on base .... but it didn't matter as the rest of the Vanguard picked up the snack, hammering Landon Knack and the Shires pitchers for 11 runs on 12 hits as they take a 2-1 lead in the WLDS.

Ty Johnson was great on the mound for StL as they even up the series 2-2. The righty strikeout artist fanned 6 over 6 innings, while holding Vancouver to 2 runs. Lara pitched another scoreless inning to earn his 2nd saave of the series.

Pete Brace (3) and Roman Anthony (2) were responsible for all 5 StL runs.

Not a good day for the West's 100 wins teams.

Vancouver takes a 3-2 series lead over St Louis, while Mile High eliminates Monterrey, the heavy favorite in the Western League.

Owen Wild and the Vancouver pitchers absolutely shut down St Louis for the second time in the series, while James Woods is taking over at the plate ... hitting a HR and driving in 4 of the 6 Vanguard runs.

Yamamoto was more average than good, yielding a surprising 4 BB in 5 IP, for the league leaders in fewest BB/9.

With Monterrey ousted by Mile High, Miami taking down Orlando, and St Louis on the brink of elimination ... this postseason is either wide open or set up for Carolina to cruise to a title.

James Woods was at it again, this time with 5 H and 3 RBI in a losing effort, as the Shires jumped all over Vancouver early on, holding 13-1 lead by the 5th inning. Every StL batter had a least 1 hit, while Moore and Romo provided the RBI. The bullpen for StL continues to be hit or miss, a growing concern in the Gateway City.

The season, for both teams, comes down to a final game 7.

StL contemplated pushing Ty Johnson into starting action on short rest over Landon Knack. Johnson dominated Vancouver innhis start this series, while Knack struggled. In the end, the Shires went with Knack on regular rest and he came through for StL, allowing just a 2 run HR over 5 IP.

StL would tie the score 2-2 on a 2R HR by series MVP Roman Anthony.

In the 5th inning with ASrias on 2nd with 2 outs, and MVP candidate Kemp Alderman at the plate, Vancouver decided to pitch to him and he made them pay with a clean RBI single to LF, to put StL up 3-2.

In the 7th, Vancouver tied the game as WCS MVP Fitzgerald hit a SF to CF, bringing the game to 3-3.

Both bullpens pitched their way in and out of trouble through regulation time and in extra innings, until the 10th inning ...

Wilfredo Lara, pinch hitting for Corey Seager led off the 10th with a double to the left-center gap off Little, who had not allowed a run in 8.2 postseason innings. Learning from the past, Vancouver IBB'd Alderman. Christian Moore struck out, leaving runners at 1B and 2B with 1 out. Captain Drew Romo hit a routine GB to SS that should have been aninning ending DP, sending the game into the 11th inning, but WCS MVP Fitzgerald booted the ball, loading the bases with just 1 out.

Pete Brace hit a rocket GB to 2B, but Vancouver was unable to turn the 4-2-3 DP with Brace busting it down the line. With runners at 2nd and 3rd and 2 outs, Nasim Nunez blooped a single to LF, scoring Alderman and sending St Louis to the WLCS to face MIle High.

LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES PREVIEW

The WLCS is a rematch from last year's WCS, where Mile High hammered St Louis in 5 games. The Mammoths also went 3-0 against the Shires during the 2030 regular season.

Interesting fact, the 3 teams that have eliminated Monterrey from the postseason have all gone on to lose the WS.

Ty Johnson provided StL with a solid outing, allowing just 2 R over 5 IP. Johnson walked in a run and allowed a SF for his 2 R.

StL was able to tie the game in the 5th with run scoring singles from the bottom of its lineup.

In the 7th, the Shires would take the lead on a Pete Brace solo HR. The Shires would keep it going scoring 5 more runs over 2 innings to win with a comfortable 8-2 margin.

Game 2 was supposed to be a showdown between two CYA candidates, A. bin Tarif and Yamamoto. That plan went out the window when bin Tarif left game in the 1st inning with shoulder problems. the Yamamoto held up his end of the bargain, throwing 6.2 shutout innings.

Mile High turned to former Shires player (and long time nemesis) Jordan Montgomery, who came through for the Mammoths with 3 innings of shutout relief, before also leaving the game with an injury.

Bin Tarif has a torn rotator cuff and will miss the next 14 months. Montgomery is still waiting for his diagnosis.

The teams traded run scoring singles in the 8th and 9th innings, sending the game into extra innings, tied 1-1. Luke Adams singled off Lara and stole 2nd base, eventually scoring on a Masyn Winn triple to the deep left center gap, and that would be the deciding run.

In the face of growing obstacles, Mile High, showed an admirable level of resolve in coming through with the series tying victory.

Well dang, Miami makes quick work of Soto, Langford, and the Carolina Crawfish.

Game 3 was all about SP Andrew Behnke, as he 1 hit St Louis into the 8th inning before handing the game over to the Mile High Bullpen.

Pete Brace got the Shires' only hit in the 6th inning. Walks continue to be a problem for the St Louis staff, issuing 7 walks with just 2 K's.

StL SP Landon Knack struggled through 4 innings, allowing 4 walks without striking out anyone. The Mammoths got to him for 6 R through 3.1 IP, and the bullpen failed to provide relief.

Here's how bad it was ... despite scoring 9 runs, the Mammoths left 13 runner on base.

A day after being 1 hit, StL batters could only muster up 2 runs on 5 H as former Shire Sonny Gray dealt St Louis a mighty blow, propelling the Mammoths to a 3-1 series lead.

StL will turn to SP Ty Johnson in G5, looking to avoid the same 4-1 series loss to Mile High as last season.

If St Louis can get the series back to StL for G6 and G7 ("Six-Seven", I teach junior high), they will have their 2 CYA candidate, Yamamoto and Olson, on the hill for those games.

Ty Johnson, with the help of 2 DP's, pitched around 4 H and 4 BB to deliver 5 scoreless innings.

StL took a 1-0 lead in the 5th as Nasim Nunez cracked an RBI double.

Whitlock entered the game in the 6th and gave up a 2-R HR, to put StL down 2-1.

The Shires tied the game 2-2 in the 7th off the bat of Captain Drew Romo.

WLCS MVP Jorge Burgos (also the series MVP last year) homored off of Lopez in the 8th, and Rainer would also walk in a run, putting StL down 4-2.

In the 9th, Brace singled with 2 outs, and Lara hit a PH double, scoring Brace to draw within 4-3. Barossa, a defensive replacement, flew out to the track in deep CF to end the game, and the Shires' season. Back to Back seasons losing a postseason series 4-1 to Mile High.

Mile High completes the comeback, down 3-0 in the series ... the Mammoths win 4 straight to capture the title.

Burgos had an amazing postseason and claimed all the postseason awards.

Mike Trout, in his final season, at age 39, as a member of the Mile High Mammoths, gets his lone WS ring in his alltime great HoF career.
