Just wow! Thank you so much for these. I've been playing the game in it's bland out of the box config for years, your stadium mods have brought my immersion to a brand new level. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Not sure if this is useful at all, but I thought I’d share. Some really good details for historical parks.

Hey all, I have interest in housing my team in a "space station". Some kind of Dome with some kind of nebulae/star system in the background/behind big glass windows or something like that. Is there anyone doing "fantasy" themes for ball parks? -- or if there were any ideas for an applicable stadium I can change the background on?Thanks a million!

Nationals Park 2020 baby!
Here is a park that I didn't know much about at all and tried to do my best with it. I really like this as I took my time with it. Hope you enjoy. https://www.mediafire.com/file/ms9yn..._2020.rar/file

Holy Cow! That is fantastic!!! Your last 2 parks (Nationals and Fenway) are superb! Are you doing anything different Silvam? You've always done a heck of a job but man these last 2 parks are something else

Well. I’m taking my time first of all. I don’t feel the crush, or pressure of having to update / create all of those historical parks. Secondly, I have way more media to research for these. I have MLB20 the show to use as a great reference and for textures. (Screenshots) Most of the current parks have 3D seat guides on the web which offers great angles from anywhere in the park. Also, google earth is valuable for it ability to measure distances like the size of the scoreboard or the height and width of almost anything in the park to make it as real as possible. All that aside. I have altered my technique on how I use the diagrams. I have been building up the parks one level at a time. Usually start with the lower deck and make my way up. Gives me a chance to add more detail. Finally. I really love to do this. It is therapeutic for me, although it has become a bit of an obsession at times, especially with all of the time I have due to covid. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this. 1922 Baker Bowl as it was designed has always worked fine in my game (currently in OOTP19, about to change over to 21), but I wanted to customize the ballpark with logos of a fictional team. So, just winging it, I simply deleted images that reference the Phillies and replaced them with images specific to the fictional team. I exported, put the new folder (with the files generated by SketchUp) into the OOTP ballparks/models directory, and I thought that was it. Of course not; all I'm seeing in the 3D Model tab is a 100% completely black stadium against a blue sky. I apparently have every texture in the texture folder that the .mtl file mentions.
Any idea what I might be doing wrong? Is customizing an existing stadium much more involved that just switching out a couple of advertisement or logo images? Help is much appreciated. |

rexrowland, what I do to replace the images for a fictional team is to copy the original 1922 Baker Bowl folder and rename it. Ex my_new_stadium. This way you can still use the original stadium and you have all files as a backup. First open the image you want to change. Edit or modify the image and save the file using the original name. You can keep a PSD version (or whatever native save format you have) that you can edit easily if you wish. Continue with any other images. This way you don't have to worry about the MTL file and any typos or file format issues (was it a PNG or a TGA?). Lastly verify that all images show properly in-game. Go to the stadium editor. Load the new stadium. If any images need to be re-positioned or re-scaled do it. Make sure you reload the stadium after any changes. I just alt-tab between my graphics program and OOTP. Voila, you have a new ballpark. I have been able to change scoreboards, advertisements and dugout roofs.

micropterus58,
Thanks, that worked! I guess I'll stick with just replacing images that already exist instead of adding entirely new ones (i.e., no adding my retired numbers to a wall where there wasn't anything there before), since I presume that's a much more involved process. I’m taking a break for a bit. I checked out the existing versions of miller and citizens and I’m not entirely sold on what is missing on them. It might take a little while to jump into building a new modern park. Right now. Work and family are keeping me busy. I’ll definitely announce when work has resumed.
