Wow, the Orioles! And I thought the Tigers and Pirates paid their ticket to the series until '95! Nice job with the standings and the dynasty as always.

The World Series is an intriguing face off between former Bash Brothers McGwire and Canseco.

![]() Game one lives up to the pre series billing. Cal Eldred hits Mark McGwire in his first at bat in the 2nd, and Minnesota capitalizes when Corey Pail singles him home. 1-0 Twins. Minnesota starter Pete Schourek then implodes. He allows seven straight Cardinals to reach base on singles and walks, which scores 3. Chris Sabo then hits a 3 run homer, and in total, the Cards score 7 in the 3rd. Despite being down, the Twins would battle back. Javy Lopez would hit a two run homer, Edgar Martinez would drive in 2, and the lead was down to 7-5. The Cards added two more. In the ninth, Mark McGwire hit a 2 out, 2 run home run to cut the lead to one. Jeff Blauser would strike out and end it though. Game 1 goes to St. Louis, 9-8. The middle of the Cardinals order comes through with singles against Fernando Valenzuela. 5 straight singles would score 2 runs, which might be a bit disappointing to Cards fans, but they lead 2-0 after three. McGwire’s 2nd home run of the series cuts the lead to 1 in the fifth. Edgar Martinez comes through in the bottom of the eighth, a sac fly, ties the game at 2. Tom Henke comes on to pitch the 10th for Minny, and it does not go well. He allows the first two hitters on base, who both score on a Jim Thome double, then Jose Canseco goes deep. It’s a four run inning, and the Cards would take game two, in extras, 6-3. Jose Canseco leads off the 2nd with a double and scores when Craig Biggio singles him in to give the Cards an early lead. Rusty Greer extends is to 2-0 with a solo shot in the 6th. The Twins finally score on a Javy Lopez double the next inning, but still trail 2-1. Mark Salas scores an insurance run in the eighth, giving the Cards a 3-1 lead. The run was needed as Javy Lopez again knocks in a run in the ninth, but it’s as close as the Twins would get. 3-2 Cards, they lead the series 3-0. Cards starter Katsuyoshi Murata is forced to leave the game after 6 batters with an injury. He was not good against those 6 batters. 1 run is in and the bases are loaded. Jeff Barry would knock in two more, and it’s 3-0 Twins. The Cards respond right away. The first 2 batters get on, and both score on a Gary Sheffield double. McGwire homers in the third, his third of the series, and the Twins would hold the lead for the rest of the game. Minnesota wins 7-4 and avoids elimination. Henry Rodriguez and Chris Jones hit back to back homers to open the 2nd inning and give St. Louis the 2-0 lead. Minnesota responds facing elimination. Matt Lawton reaches first on an error, and Edgar Martinez takes Cal Eldrad deep to tie the game. The Twins add another to go up 3-2 after four. Martinez hits his 2nd homer of the game, a two run shot and the lead is extended to 5-2. The Cardinals claw their way back, and tie the game in the eighth when Eric Young scores on a wild pitch! 5-5 heading into the ninth. Cards pitcher Jose Nunez hits Jeff Barry and walks Chris Hoiles. In steps Israel Alcantara. Alcantara entered the game as a pinch hitter for Twins starter Yoshii in the 6th and then moved to CF. He has never played in a regular season game, and was 0/2 before getting his first hit in the 6th. The 21 year old would send a hard hit ball up the middle, into the outfield for a single. Barry would round third and cross the plate, scoring the eventual winning run. The Twins survive with a 6-5 win. The kid is the hero!! ![]() A Javy Lopez homer highlights a huge three run first inning for Minnesota as they jump out to a 3-0 lead. In the 4th, Chuck Finley walks the bases loaded. Twins utility 2nd baseman, Ricky Gutierrez, getting the start, hits the ball 398 feet, on a line drive over the left field wall for a GRAND SLAM! 8-0 Twins after four. The Cards get 3 back in fifth. Rusty Greer with a 2 run double. They scrap a few more runs together. Heading into the ninth, it’s 9-6 Minnesota. Tom Henke!!! Why are you blowing it!!! This hurts from a Jays fans perspective. Tom Henke blows the most important game of his life and the Cardinals tie it up. They were down 8-0!!! The Twins do not score in the ninth, and we head to extra innings. In the bottom of the 10th… ![]() WOW…what a finish. The Twins win the game without doing anything really. They actually walked it off. The Cards lose the game and all the momentum they had. After being down 3 games to nothing….Minnesota has forced a game 7 with the 10-9 win. GAME 7 ![]() A little research shows that 2 teams have come back from a 3-0 deficit, The 1960 Baltimore Orioles who came back to beat the LA Dodgers. In 1930, the Phillies did the trick to the Indians when Cleveland SS Travis Jackson fumbled the series away with two errors in the 8th during game 7. Jim Deshaies and Bob Milacki have each been pretty good in the postseason. Lets see if Minnesota can make history, or St. Louis can avoid the massive collapse. Bob Milacki gives up back to back singles, and a walk to load the bases before there is even an out. Javy Lopez strikes out, Mark McGwire hits a sac fly, and Jeff Blauser k’s. Twins lead 1-0 after one, but it could have been much worse! Milacki gets himself into trouble again in the 3rd. Two walks and a single have the bases loaded, with nobody out. Coming to the plate, Mark McGwire. BOOM….407 feet over the left field fence. GRAND SLAM!! 5-0 Twins! Both teams would continue to score runs, but it never becomes close again. St. Louis blows a 3-0 series lead. The Minnesota Twins win the WORLD SERIES!! |

So I've encountered the draft problem again.
The issue when draft day comes is the game freezes. It looks like its trying to draft, and stays at 0% progress. The game displays the supplemental 1st round as the next round to go, which is odd, and probably causing the problem. I've submitted a ticket, and hopefully, the guys at OOTP can help me clear this up, but until them, this is on hold. My solution if nothing can be done, other then throw my computer out the window and curse the day i found out about OOTP, would be to reimport my OOTP 15 game into 16, erase the last 2-3 years (Cant remember how many seasons I've played on 16) and go from there. Obviously, I do not want to do that. Lets hope this is a problem that OOTP tech support can fix... |

Sorry to hear about the draft glitch, George. Hopefully this doesn't derail your dynasty. I enjoy following it.

My favourite team so far were those Phillies teams from the 20's and 30's that scored so many damn runs, but had he worst pitching i have ever seen. Then, they went out and acquired Babe Ruth. Suttles, Ruth and Gehrig on the same team was amazing. The Ruth trade was the biggest and most important trade I've ever seen. I loved following Reggie Jackson's career more then most. I just find him, captivating, entertaining, and his OOTP career was explosive. The Jays winning the Series in 84 was awesome, because I'm a Blue Jays fan. The Browns run with DiMaggio was pretty special. I always routed against the Dodgers during their dominance, but cheered for the Browns..... The best era is the 40's-60's. I'm in my 30's, so i only heard about these legenedary players, and to see them come alive in the way OOTP lets me, was super fun! |

I'm starting to get a bad feeling about this. I haven't heard back from Tech support since i uploaded my file to their FTP, and that was almost 2 weeks ago. I'm anxious to get this going again, but also don't want to harass or bother them. Was hoping it was an easy fix!!!

I would imagine, that to fix this, all it would take was to sit down at a computer, download the file, and edit it with the tools and inside know how. Half n hour tops would be my guess. I do have a my OOTP15 file, so if i do go back, we lose 3 years, which sucks, but it sucks much less then losing everything! |
