UKHS; regarding Jewell, given Whelan seems convinced Jewell felt the need to take a sabbatical do you think there is a chance he has chosen to promote the assistant in the hope Jewell will come back in the near future?

Here is a useful bit of advice; the absolute worst way to recover from a tense playoff final that goes all the way to penalties is to spend the next week staying with your partners old man. This is especially true when said father seems to think you are the spawn of Satan and wishes great ill upon you for soiling his daughter and being a bad influence on his grandchildren.

Anyway, we won and are now back in tier six after an eight year absence; albeit a ‘higher’ tier six since the stupid introduction of the Conference North & South. This season has been one hell of a roller coaster ride, but you can’t complain about winning a cup and promotion and whatever the faults of the playoffs it does give you one hell of an end of season adrenaline rush.

Sam Wood is being given a trial by Wolves; he deserves the chance and should be in the professional ranks based on his couple of seasons with us. The kid is a talented left sided player, although I fear he may suffer as he is more a very solid all round player and they so often get overlooked in favour of inferior players who have a standout asset that gets them noticed.

It has been a pleasing trend in recent seasons to see clubs returning to the lower leagues for talent hunting. Hopefully the fresh influx of money this year won’t see the door shut again.

Zoro...I dont know why you claim the ECS is stronger than the ECN...The two ECN teams promoted last year, Stafford and Northwich, are still up. Can we say the same for the ECS teams? I realize its a very small sample size, but just because its southern doesnt make it better. BTW, nice to have you back. If we could only get to to offer an opinion now and then.

FSC Phone-in show host: 'Alexi, you played in Italy. Were you ever exposed to any of the shenanigans that we see going on in Italy today?'

Alexi Lalas: "There were times playing in Italy when I was told this is the way things were going to go...."

What a shock. What a suprise.

Hilario to play as a Striker?

Quote:
Chelsea are so short of players for Saturday's FA Cup final they may be forced to use goalkeeper Hilario as a substitute striker, manager Jose Mourinho said.

Mourinho, who has spent millions to bring in new players but insists on working with a "manageable" size squad, said he was down to 15 fit men for the Wembley showdown with double-chasing Manchester United.

Mourinho suffered his latest blow when midfielder John Obi Mikel was ruled out with a hamstring injury picked up in Sunday's final Premier League game, a 1-1 home draw with Everton.

Michael Ballack, Andriy Shevchenko, Ricardo Carvalho, Arjen Robben and teenage striker Scott Sinclair were already definite absentees while fullback Ashley Cole is still doubtful.

"Maybe if Ash is ready we have 15," Mourinho told Chelsea TV.

"The reality is that for a final we do not have 16 players. It's not a good picture.

"For the bench maybe Hilario, he's not bad as a forward, or I'll have to bring one of the kids in."

Portuguese keeper Hilario, 31, joined the club last July and made 18 appearances between October and January - in goal - following injuries to Petr Cech and Carlo Cudicini.
Sounds like more Moaninho BS to me. This guy is possibly the worst "mind-games" manager I've had the displeasure of hearing on a regular basis. Must he have a "poor Chelsea" comment to throw out every week?

God I hate Chelsea(even more then ManU!!)

I don't like the new thread title The revolution may have started, according to an article in todays Daily Star, Man Utd and Chelsea fans are organising a protest at this weekends Cup Final. In the article it's said that fans will not be buying anything inside Wembley ie pies, pints, food due to the inflated prices, prices are said to be £4.50 for a pie holy crap Batman you can buy a pie in Wigan (capital of pies) for £1 at most, price for a pint of beer is £4.50, hotdog £3.90 and a burger meal (probably a burger & fries) is £8 thank God Latics were too crap to get to Wembley or I'd have to sell a kidney to pay for it

Also according to early stats for renewing season tickets 12% of Prem fans aren't renewing, 25% of all football fans aren't renewing and 16% of fans will stop going to games altogether, this is by all accounts the cost of going to a game next season rising by 17.8%.

The prices might be going up for the fans but at least there is quality on the pitch. Prices are absurd everywhere. It costs $15 to park at Dodger Stadium.

But will the quality go down when stadiums aren't full, I know Wigans poor season is down to some poor players but even Jewell and the players said the crowds being lower than last season have effected their play, players need fans to cheer them on and if fans don't go then there's no cheering.

Watched an interview of new Latics manager Chris Hutchings, I didn't like the appointment at all but having seen his interview I'm warming to him more, he came across very confident and calm and very clear on what he wants to do.

What is your highlight moment in CM/FM over the years?

I only have one. That was my only ever league title - the Championship with Hull City. Well I say it's the only one I've won, but I actually won the League One title two seasons before then, but I only joined the club six games from the end of the season with an eight point lead, so even I couldn't mess that up.
