It is just me or did all my caption lettering grow in size? It used to be size 1, but now it's the default font size.

Cardinals sign Morgan, Mike Morgan
After a solid 10-9 season with an ERA at about 3.60, Morgan would be worth something about what? 6 million a year, give or take some? Well, Morgan's agent found 13 million dollars for him, the former Padre becomes the Cardinals new #1 pitcher and will look to help the Cardinals, reigning world champs, win another World Series. Morgan, could be a lot better if he hid his pitches better, instead of showing them to everyone in the stadium.Texas Broke, forced to draft Whiten If one good thing came out of having the worst record in the Major Leagues last year, it was having the first overall pick in the amateur draft, well its all for naught if you ain't got no money, and Texas a'int got any. Whiten does have the potential to be a .260 25HR guy in the future, but he isn't going to be as good as #2 pick Frank Thomas. Indians land future star Blessed with a moneyless Texas team in front of them, the Indians had big Frank Thomas fall into their laps, not literally of course. Thomas has the eye, the power, the ability to hit for average, and the spee-, never mind. He's going to be good though. Now that's what I call an ass!Pirates loot a good one Harold Baines signed on with the Pittsburgh Pirates, to try to bring the city of Pittsburgh a World Series championship. He had a great year last year with the Red Sox, hitting .323 33HR 100RBI's. But they are the Pirates, so nobody's getting their hope up.

Darryl would have had the perfect month if it were not for his low homer total, 4. He hit .307 and knocked in 18 runs, and is now rated a 5* player.
"Well, ghost...I guess I'm a complete player know, huh?" "NO... 4 homeruns this month, pathetic, you'll never catch 500, how do you expect to get to the hall if you can't reach 500?" "I could maybe get 3000 hits..." "Blasphemy! No way, it's 500 or broke for you Darryl, you better get started on it." Darryl's "line" Games 25 AB 88 H 27 2B 8 3B 1 HR 4 RBI 18 R 15 BB 19 K 19 AVG .307 OBP .418 SLG .557 OPS .975 League Notes: Now you KNOW its a alternate universe Jamie Navarro is having an outstanding year so far in 1990. After an up and down season last year with the Giants where he had an E.R.A. of 4.99, the Giant starter so far is at 3-0 with a 2.16 ERA.

I love the Frank Thomas quote.. Beautiful.
I think you should start a manager career with Darryl afterwards... He'll be great at making "Line"ups.

Darryl looks to be on his way to the Hall of Fame, baring injuries, with yet another supberb month of .283 and 7 homers, it looks like nothing is going to get in his way, except for himself, and the ghost's verbal abuse.
"Well, ghost I guess I can just put it on cruise control the rest of the way to the Hall of Fame, huh?" "Shut up Darryl! There's no way you'll make it to 500, you are way to full of yourself, when you finally have to start working for it when you are older, you'll fai!" "Yeah, well at least I'm alive!" I'm sorry for that horrible exchange of dialouge between the ghost and Darryl, my creative juices just aren't flowing today, too much turkey I guess... Darryl's "line" Games 53 AB 187 H 55 2B 12 3B 2 HR 11 RBI 37 R 28 BB 38 K 51 AVG .294 OBP .408 SLG .556 OPS .964 League Notes: Triple Crown Contender? Rafael Palmerio, Milwaukee Brewer slugging first baseman, is leading the American League in AVG. HR's and is 2 RBI's behind teammate Juan Samuel. Does he have a chance? No, but I can write about it can't I? Once again, I'm sorry for such a bad joke, this is probably my worst one since the beginning

Darryl had a tough time of it in June, with a poor average of .244 and subpar homer numbers of 3, he's going to have to pick it up to meet his stats from last year.
"Man, Darryl you are playing so bad I'm embarrassed to be around you" "But nobody can see you but me..." "That's how bad you're playing" Darryl's "line" Games 78 AB 273 H 76 2B 15 3B 2 HR 14 RBI 48 R 41 BB 55 K 73 AVG .278 OBP .396 SLG .502 OPS .898 League Notes: A chance for .400? Tony Gwynn, Phillies righfielder is off to a torrid pace so far in 1990, with a .423 average through July 1st he has a good as chance as anybody since Teddy Ballgame did it in '41. "Heard you got to firstbase tonight, way to go!"

Darryl's numbers have went down each month this year, they have hit another low this July, with a .232 average and 6 homers it was the kind of month that Darryl used to have when he was with the Blue Jays.
"Darryl these kind of months, when you suck, is what I live for, well not live but, exist for" "I still got 20 homers man, don't worry, be happy" "That song sucked the first time around, don't make it worse the second time" Darryl's "line" Games 101 AB 355 H 95 2B 17 3B 3 HR 20 RBI 64 R 59 BB 75 K 96 AVG .268 OBP .394 SLG .501 OPS .896 League Notes: Closing in on being the HR leader? Glenn Davis, San Diego Padre 1st baseman is having a career year, with 27 homeruns through August 1st. Recently traded from the White Sox to the Padres, Davis is making the most of his chance after being a bench player for the White Sox last year. He's in 1st place in the NL with 27 homers, 5 ahead of Jack Clark, San Francisco Giants 1st baseman. Davis, here looking at the hot chick in the 3rd row is not only holding right hand without a bat, but is also about to get in the stomach by a BP fastball

this is priceless, thought i'd share-
from espn.com "I guess I didn't realize how fast I was living until one night at a party, when Keith Richards says to me, 'You've got chill out, Darryl old bloke. You're gonna die young, mate.' When Keith Richards tells you that you're partying too much, it's kind of like the pope telling you that you've dedicated too much of your life to God." |

Darryl is having the worst slump of his career. With a .196 average and only 3 homers in August, Darryl is having a real tough go at it this year. He now only has 23 homers on the year, and his average has fallen down to a sub-par .252.
"Hey Darryl, I could hit better than you right now, and I can't even hold a bat!" "Man, shut up, I'll get it back together." "Whatever, you suck, I'm going to go look at some naked chicks in the shower" Darryl's "line" Games 128 AB 452 H 114 2B 24 3B 4 HR 23 RBI 74 R 74 BB 94 K 124 AVG .252 OBP .380 SLG .476 OPS .855 League Notes: Jeff Robinson, best in baseball? Jeff Robinson, New York Met and 2-time all-star starting pitcher is having the best year of an already splendid career. With 11 wins and a 1.94 ERA, he has a shot at the Cy Young, the only thing holding this 29 year old ace back is his lack of run support, he has 9 losses. As good as Robinson is, he still throws like a girl

This thread is so good. I have tears coming out of my eyes reading some of it. Good work

Darryl finished the year out on a semi-strong note, with a .299 average and 4 homers, he finishes up his lackluster with the lowest homer output since his rookie season with both Toronto and the Mets, 27.
"Hey, Darryl, nice month, really you came back and had a great month after struggling for a while" "Thanks, ghost, I appr-" "Gotcha! Oh, man you are such a loser! 27 homeruns? Lou Whitaker hit more than you!" Darryl's final "line" Games 157 AB 559 H 146 2B 31 3B 9 HR 27 RBI 97 R 98 BB 113 K 146 AVG .261 OBP .385 SLG .494 OPS .879 SB 14 CS 4 League Notes: So close, yet so far Alan Trammell, Oakland A's shortstop had a fantastic year with a .384 average, his late season surge included a .407 average in September/October, as Tony Gywnn fell of the vaunted .400 pace, Trammell made a late charge but couldn't quite make it. Not that Trammell's great year meant anything, Oakland sucked big time this year. "So, have you told your wife about "us" yet?"

St. Louis didn't make the playoffs, but here are the results
New York Yankees (90-72) defeat the Minnesota Twins (97-65) 4-1 Pittsburgh Pirates (90-72) defeat the Houston Astros (94-68) 4-3 World Series Pittsburgh Pirates (90-72) defeat the New York Yankees (90-72) 4-3 That's Pittsburgh, in case you didn't want to highlight the yellow letters. Awards AL MVP Rafael Palmerio Milwaukee Brewers .344 46HR 131RBI's NL MVP Will Clark Montreal Expos .330 24HR 99RBI AL Cy Young Tom Henke New York Yankees 23-6 2.53ERA NL Cy Young Jeff Robinson New York Mets 16-9 2.09ERA AL Rookie of the Year Albert Belle Toronto Blue Jays .319 17HR 80RBI NL Rookie of the Year Shawn Boskie Philadelphia Phillies 16-8 3.58ERA League Notes: Team full of nobody's win title Pittsburgh won the World Series title with no proven stars. A solid pitching staff, and an unspectacular offense, but it all worked perfectly, you can't argue with results. Alvin Davis, Pirate home run leader with 27, shown below is an important part of the team. In the offseason, Alvin Davis is a Steve Harvey look alike.
