After installing the patch whenever I attempt to tweak a players talent levels the gauge either misdisplays, or talents besides the ones I am adjusting spontaneously move. Has this happened to anyone else?

I am running WinXP-Pro and IE6.0.2800. I have d/l'd the 5.13 patch six times, unzipped and installed it each time without a hitch.

What OS and browser are you using?

Here are some screenshots to help you see what I do to d/l the patch:
  • First, I click on this link...
  • Then, I click on 'save'...
  • Then, I select where I want to save it...
  • Then, I click on save...
and it starts the download. I am using WinZip8.1 for my zipping and unzipping.

Hope this helps.

When I click on [Save], the d/l starts and looks like this . . .

When the d/l is finished, I see this . . .

. . . I click on[Open], WinZip opens, and I get this . . .

. . . I click on [Extract], and see this . . .

. . . I tell it where I want to extract it, and then click on [Extract].
The program asks me if I want to overwrite the existing, older, files, I say yes,
and WinZip extracts the files to the folder I selected. I never get asked for a password.

I hope this works for you.

In reference to not being able to demote injured players, it appears that you are also not able to promote players from AAA to the majors if they are injured as well (day to day injury).

Seems as if things are screwy here. If someone on the MLB roster is injured, they should not be allowed to the to the minors. However, you should be allowed to promote anyone even if they are day to day.

Yes, I've been having similar problems since I installed the patch. Particularly when I create a fictional player from the team transactions page, the ratings are often wonky: the screen will tell me that a player has "fair talent," but the bar will be halfway across the screen, suggesting that he has average talent. And when I attempt to manually type in player stats, sometimes it will skew the ratings. For example, if I type in 18 home runs, which is supposed to be average, instead it will come up 6 or 7 on the 1-10 scale. I haven't yet figured out how this is affecting actual game play.

Even before I installed the patch, I've also noticed that when I manually edit a player's ratings, it gives me a different rating depending on whether or not I'm in edit mode. Perhaps this is something that can be patched also.

that's the players true ratings when you have edit mode on...you must have the coaches and scouts turned on, as the ratings you are seeing without edit mode, are what the scout thinks of him.

The ratings will still jump around and skew when I am in edit mode.

This makes some sense, and it's true that I do have edit mode on. But just to be realistic, wouldn't a scout--a reasonably perceptive one, at least--notice if a player's talent dramatically changed, rather than sticking with his original analysis of the player?

This problem has always been there. But there is a new problem that seems to have arrived with the latest patch; the whole player ratings system, particularly when you create a fictional player, seems out of whack.

It has now been 40 days since the original patch with bugs came out.

I love you guys, your product, your service, but at this point I feel I have to ask: When the heck is the fix going to be ready?

Steve told us "probably next week" about 2 1/2 weeks ago.

Can someone give us a target date, at least?

*exhale*

I can't give you an exact date either, but I can say that it should be fairly soon.
