Terry Puhl hit his 8th homer of the year.

Ken Howell allowed only two hits across seven scoreless innings. The bullpen wasn't quite s effective but the Jays held on to a 5-3 win over the first place Brewers.

Candy Sierra left the game with pain in his elbow. We await word as to the severity of his injury.

It was a wild game that ended with both Vince Ramey and Lawrence Leverett playing the OF. John Valentin went 4 for 5, driving in 3, leading the Jays to a 9-5 win over Oakland.

Leverett homered for Toronto.

However, Terry Puhl left the game early and we are concerned.

Larry Morris was one out short of a save when he had to leave the game with some sort of back problem. We are awaiting word.
