After a 2-5 start, Mesa won 4 of the next games, leading into a battle with playoff favorite Oklahoma.

Mesa seemingly turned its season around with a sweep over the Outlaws, before going 2-4 against other top teams (Salt Lake and Space City). With a lot of underperformance going around, Mesa hosted rival Sin City at home ... and dropped all 3 games in defeating fashion.

You cannot win a division in April, but you can certainly lose one, and it appeared Mesa was heading in that direction before finishing off April with a 4 game winning streak.

Mesa finished the month with a record of 15-13 and in 3rd place.

CF Gamez has been everything Mesa hoped he would be when they acquired him, and youngster RF Acevedo is off to a decent start following his outstanding September performance in his callup last year.

Sutton continues to HR and K at high rates, with Maxwell being the consistent performer he has been.

LF Ricardo Gomez is off to a horrific start.

After starting off 0-3 in blowout losses, SP Silver composed himself and returned to form (somewhat) by the end of the month.

Newly acquired SP Chacon has not pitched like he hoped in this prove it season.

SP Duah and Vargas are also struggling, with Vargas' weakness of the 3-run homer returning in full force.

Morales has adjusted to his new role in the bullpen, and Buckley has straightened himself out after 2 early, deflating losses.

Rookie Nelson Gonzales has burst into the '45 season with an outstanding month including a complete game shutout in his first start.

I didn't get the Acquire an AllStar achievement for trading for Jamez, because he somehow did not make the AS team despite being 2nd in voting for CF and putting up a .332-19-64 first half, producing 4.7 WAR in the process.

Sin City, seemingly giving up on the playoff chase put their closer on the trading block and I acquired him at the trading deadline. The "All In" season continues. Somehow the fans still are not all that interested. CL Ruguru will be a free agent at the end of the season.

Mesa Monsters Get ...

Sin City Sharks Get ...

Chacon is really maximizing his "prove it" 1y deal for 5M. He's asking for 25M per year for 7y in contract extension negotiations.
