Matt or Markus you guys skipped over my questions about trading. Very hard AI to trade even on low setting. Also I like to include draft picks in trades and the option is clicked on but when I tried to make a trade the draft pick option is grayed out. Is this a bug? Or am I missing something?

Now help here - it's already checked and can't be changed - and the frame rate mentioned above was no help either. Replays and games played out painfully slow and buttons unresponsive.

One pet peeve of mine that's still in the game is in the play-by-play. Every time there's a hit batter, the first line that comes up is "...." which spoils the at-bat before the pitch is thrown since we know the batter is being hit. Can this be removed?

Thanks. You've just added more frustrations to finding a coach. The dev influence in the list option was a god send. Sort by dev influence made the game more enjoyable! I play in a league online and you've added time that could be spend seeking FAs in the off season rather than clicking every darn coach!!

INITIAL IMPRESSIONS:

The Good:

* It's so much faster on my Windows laptop. It used to be almost painful to switch from Perfect Team to my "regular league" but no more. I'm experiencing fewer hangups overall. I'll really put it to the test this weekend, but I can tell a difference already.

*.I love the updated Stadium Creator! The creative juices are flowing... I really appreciate the freedom it gives.

* The 3D is really good looking. I can tell a lot of hard work went into this, and it's really appreciated. Adds a lot to the immersion.

The Bad:

* There's still no Tournament option to have champions automatically chosen, like in the Association Mode. I can obv. do this manually but I'm lazy. That's my only complaint so far, lol. I'm really happy with 22 so far.

After installing the beta version of the game, I watched a simulated game played out between two historic teams. The first thing I noticed is that the play-by-play text didn't match up with the action that was happening as shown played out. Here are a couple of examples of this...

1. Some pitches that were shown as being on the inside of the plate were reported in the play-by-play as being on the outside of the plate, and likewise, some pitches shown on the outside of the plate were reported in the play-by-play as being on the inside of the plate. This occurred with both left-handed and right-handed hitting.

2. Some pitches that were fouled off and went behind the plate were reported in the play-by-play as being fouled off to the left or to the right. In one case, I recall the play-by-play saying that a foul ball was just out of the reach of someone, though the foul ball went behind the plate.

I'm actually surprised that this type of stuff made it as far as the beta release of this game. I do hope that this kind of stuff gets fixed.

First of all, the game looks great. At first brief glance there is a lot to like.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to enjoy it yet. I am having real problems with the choppy game play that was mentioned early in the thread when I tried a test.

I tried to follow some of the fix suggestions. I checked no limitations in frame speed, lowered the audience details, shut down and rebooted game. Nothing has worked for me. In fact, it's so bad that after playing 6 innings of one game I had to quit. Watching the choppy play with a kind of flash effect gave me a terrible headache in 15 minutes.

I am using a 2019 MacBook Pro that has always worked well for OOTP in past versions.

Very frustrating. Anyone have further suggestions?

What you pointed out is also something I've noticed in past releases of the game whenever either contact with the ball is about to be made, a strikeout is about to happen, or a walk is about to happen. It's indeed a spoiler that something is about to take place. I pointed out these things a couple of years ago in one of the forums, and apparently nothing continues to be done about this.

The whole Betances vs Bauer/Altuve thing is simply about the AI is way more fiscally responsible than real-life teams that print their own money (i.e. Dodgers). Just looking at it from a raw-talent perspective, of course it would be ridiculous. But the game is looking at the contracts and seeing Bauer as a negative piece of the team. Even if Betances happens to be bad, his contract is a lot easier to stomach, and honestly most RP's are so low-impact on the season (WAR between -0.5 and 0.5), I doubt the AI places much value on RP's at all unless they're at the ends of the talent spectrum.

I can't say I disagree with the AI either. If hypothetically my Tigers had that Bauer contract, I'd be looking to trade his butt too, that's a lot of $ that can be better spent (Scouting/Development/etc).

I love how you can trade players with no trade clauses where they say they willing to forgo the 10/5 no trade clause if traded to certain teams. Glad thats finally in the game

I am once again disappointed in the Ballpark Construction Kit. Though you now can at least move fences out, it is still a chore to visually fiddle with the fence posts and wall heights, then click the Preview Park Factors button to see how far off you are from the desired result...then back and forth between fiddling and checking. Why can't you just enter the distance to the LF foul pole and the wall height directly?

Other than that, the game is its usually resplendent self, and I am really liking the new additions.

Agree! And as far as who would trade for him? Well only 1 team was willing to pay him what he got so it probably means 29 out of 30 teams dont want that contract. Its actually nice that the AI is smart enough to recognize bad contracts.

However, The AI should also recognize that the Dodgers are rich and contending and probably decide trading him doesnt make sense. If the Dodgers shift to normal or rebuilding or have financial issues they should get rid of that contract as fast as possible.

That's disappointing to hear. It was one of the first things I mentioned in the suggestions for this version. Entering numbers and letting the software figure out everything else should really be a no brainer. At least provide this option and have an advanced mode for someone who wants to micro-manage fence posts.

Obviously I have some issues with the rosters (Matt Carpenter has no skills at 2B, etc), but that's to be expected.
Is Carpenter strong enough to throw a baseball from 2B to 1B? Seriously he must have the weakest arm in all of baseball.
