I think I will take Art Shamsky for the Mets and one of the members of the Big Red Machine, Tony Perez.

Pat Mahomes. Heard his kid can play a little football here and there. Ryne Sandberg. Beware the charge of the RYNO!

The second player in Brewers history to hit for the cycle and the first player in major league history to have two stolen bases and hit for the cycle in the same game ...

So many great players (Palmer, Kershaw, Key, McCutchen) wore No. 22. Even Mike Schmidt and Al Kaline wore it early in their careers before donning the numbers that they took to greater fame. But I've opted to go with...Mike Matheny
Why Mike Matheny? Because he had a 13-year MLB career in which he managed to rack up a negative WAR. That's staying power! ![]() Thumbs up indeed, Mike

A second prop to Jimmy Key, this time as a Yankee.

So many great ones to wear that number. For the Mets, I will go old school and use Donn Clendenon. For another team, Clayton Kershaw. Highest WAR in Dodger history and he's only 32 years old. He could retire now and he would STILL be a first ballot HOFamer!

It's the witching hour here in the Big Apple, which means we're exactly 21 days (or three weeks for those who live life in bulk) from OOTP 22's official release.
The Warrior, Paul O'Neill. Not part of the illustrious "core four", but a player whose intensity and drive epitomized the Yankees' dynasty years of 1990's like no other. ![]()
