Joining the professional ranks for the 2026 season are the Sun Belt and Missouri Valley conferences. Unfortunately for the two leagues, Coastal Carolina and Dallas Baptist chose not to hook up with their former affiliations and are staying in their respective divisions. The Sun Belt joins the National League while the Valley enters the AL.

20 Straight Losses for Trojans:
Little Rock Trojans' fans were visibly shocked by their teams inability to win after today's 20th straight loss. "This is an outrage", said Greg Sanders, a longtime Little Rock Trojans season ticket holder. "These guys are a disgrace. It is beyond obvious that they don't even care about the fans at this point. I guess they are just showing up for a paycheck." Little Rock Trojans Manager, Brent Boldt, appeared to be at his breaking point during post game press conference. "I'm sick and tired of dumb questions! Embarrassed? Of course I'm embarrassed. These guys call themselves professionals but they play like little leaguers. I'll take responsibility but the GM and owner, Mike Gaona, need to take some as well. They are the one's who stuck me with these guys." With that, he walked out of the press conference. Suffice to say, it is likely there will be repercussions in the coming days. |

Ron Ahl Wants Out of UConn:
Ron Ahl has been anything but quiet during his team's painful drudge to the finish line this year. This poor attitude has spilled into questioning his teammate's desire to win. The overall feeling in the clubhouse seems to be they can lose just as many without Ahl's services and he seems completely fine with that idea. "Give me the right fit and you will see some magic," Ahl said. "I have the tools, I just need the right scenario and there are plenty of teams that would beg for my services at this point in the season." With an 25-41 record at this point and Ahl due to be a free agent after this season, the Huskies may be wise to deal him now and get some return on this season's lost cause. "I'm not a project player or a clubhouse cancer, I just know what I want and can contribute greatly to a team in the right position," Ahl added. UConn's general manager declined comment on the situation, but sources say he is actively shopping the disgruntled veteran currently. |

Hartsel Runs Hit String to 30 Straight Games:
Topsy Hartsel collected 2 hits in today's game and extended his hitting streak to 30 games. His club, the UCF Knights, beat the Houston Cougars 7-4. "Right now, when they throw me the ball, it looks the size of a softball," Hartsel quipped to a BNN reporter after the game. "I'm excited about how things are clicking." Topsy Hartsel hit a solo-shot off Bob Welch in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, walked in the 7th and walked in the 8th. This season Hartsel is swinging the bat at a .364 rate with 106 hits in 291 at-bats. To date he has hit 27 home runs, scored 75 runs and driven in 86. |

Amaya not to be denied in HR Challenge:
Ground Control to Major Tom: We have a champion in this year's Home Run Challenge. Juan Amaya is his name. The Montana State Bobcats shortstop launched rocket after rocket into orbit en route to the title. He topped Matt Holliday in the final round by a score of 22-21. "I knew it would be tough," said Amaya. "I knew it would take my best effort." Lifetime Amaya is hitting .245 with 854 hits, 210 home runs, 523 runs scored and 575 RBIs. |

Hartsel Hit String Snapped at 31:
UCF Knights left fielder Topsy Hartsel finally met his Waterloo. A 31-game hitting spree is now history after Hartsel was unable to make anything happen in 3 at-bats today against the Maryland Terrapins. Fortunately for Hartsel and the Knights, the rest of his team had enough in their bats to win the game 3-0. "We're a true team here," he said. "For 31 games I've been able to contribute, but I always believed these guys would take care of things if I couldn't some day." This season Hartsel is batting .359 with 88 RBIs, 75 runs scored and 27 home runs. |

Anticipation is building around NCAA as the annual rookie draft is now just a month away. The list of eligible draft candidates was officially released by the league today and scouts will now undoubtedly be kept very busy analyzing the current crop of potential recruits to determine the most desirable draftees. Teams now have a chance to scout the draft pool for 140 days before the draft is held. The early favorites to be high picks are the following: 1. Bobby Mathews, 17 year-old RHP out of high-school. 2. Frank Baker, 20 year-old 3B out of college. 3. Ross Youngs, 19 year-old CF out of college. 4. Zack Wheat, 19 year-old LF out of high-school. 5. Fernando Valenzuela, 17 year-old LHP out of high-school. 6. Barry Bonds, 19 year-old CF out of high-school. 7. Buck Ewing, 18 year-old C out of high-school. 8. Charlie Bennett, 21 year-old C out of college. 9. Lou Gehrig, 18 year-old 1B out of high-school. 10. Heinie Zimmerman, 18 year-old 2B out of high-school. |

Virginia Tech's Seward Throws Perfect Game:
Over the course of baseball history, some moments stand a little taller than others. One of those moments happened today at English Field. Virginia Tech right-hander Ed Seward threw a perfect game at as the Hokies beat the Little Rock Trojans, 4-0. In his post-game comments, Seward told reporters that it was something he had never dreamed of. "As a kid, you always think of pitching to win the final game of a championship," Seward said. "You never think of pitching a perfect game, because it just seems unattainable. I'll remember this day for the rest of my life." By the end of the game, Seward had rung up 17 Little Rock hitters on strikeouts, and did not allow a single baserunner. The fans gave Seward a standing ovation as he left the mound, knowing they had witnessed one of the rarest events in the sport. Up to now Seward has recorded a record of 17-2. In 19 starts he has fanned 236 batters in 145 innings with a 1.49 ERA. |

20 Straight Losses for Panthers:
Northern Iowa Panthers' fans were visibly shocked by their teams inability to win after today's 20th straight loss. "This is an outrage", said Steve Jones, a longtime Northern Iowa Panthers season ticket holder. "These guys are a disgrace. It is beyond obvious that they don't even care about the fans at this point. I guess they are just showing up for a paycheck." Northern Iowa Panthers Manager, Mike Lewis, appeared to be at his breaking point during post game press conference. "I'm sick and tired of dumb questions! Embarrassed? Of course I'm embarrassed. These guys call themselves professionals but they play like little leaguers. I'll take responsibility but the GM and owner, Travis Fuentes, need to take some as well. They are the one's who stuck me with these guys." With that, he walked out of the press conference. Suffice to say, it is likely there will be repercussions in the coming days. |

Still not sure how I feel about the fictional players generated for the first couple years, but this guy is beasting.
Dahn Swats #400: Did you catch a home run yesterday? One lucky fan has a prize possession after Chris Dahn crushed his 400 home run tonight. Dahn offered the lucky fan some souvenirs and a small cash prize in exchange for the ball. The fan who caught the ball has been identified, but has not yet commented on his intentions. "That's one you would kind of like to keep," Dahn said. The Patriots third baseman went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 7 RBI as the Dallas Baptist Patriots won 11-8 over the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. The Patriots will be hosting a Chris Dahn commemorative poster promotion for an upcoming homestand. In his career Dahn has played in 1225 games with a .328 batting average. Among his 1504 hits are 275 doubles, 14 triples and 400 home runs. He also has scored 1048 runs and driven in 1079 runs. |
