Man this is the toughest league I have ever played in. Every team I play can hit. I also cannot beat the Stones. They have beat me 4 out of 5 games so far. Time to go out and have some pizza and beer.🍺🍕😁

Waiting on my pizza now.......card haul was pretty good. 1961 again, got McCovey, Tommy Davis rookie card, Jim Bunning, Elston Howard and about 83 other cards.
edit: I forgot, Cepeda and Roseboro too. Last edited by mcdog512; 03-29-2019 at 05:50 PM. |

Very cool cards. Do you have a big display for your cards or box them away ? I feel like some of them would make great display items in a man cave.

Now you know how I feel. I lost a few series against the Stones before finally winning one. I don’t think I ever encountered them in the PT universe. The other team I can’t beat this season is your team. I can barely win one game if I get very lucky. Not a very bright future. The wild card race is brutal with Yaks in the mix and two other good teams.

Wow Ruth gets hot. With one full month left Babe Ruth of the Yaks has 38 homers just 10 shy of the record. We have some excitement coming in September. Also Lajoie has 128 rbi and needs 30 more to break the record. This could be one wild ride to the finish.😁

Speaking of excitement Barry Bonds has 11 homers in just 45 games for Rocky Point and he plays in a very unfriendly homer park. What will happen next season when they bring in the right field wall? He claims he could hit 50. Already Rocky Point has sold more season tickets for next season then ever before. And that includes this year and they are the defending Champions.

Interesting fact. Ozzie Smith of the Zorros In 12 seasons of play and 6,063 at bats has never hit a home run. That’s right folks, Zero..😨

I am only worried about the National Conference so here we go. We have a wonderful Wild Card race going on. The Division races are virtually over so the Wild Card race is very important. We have 4 very good teams vying for 2 Wild card spots. They are all with in 2 games of each other and currently the Seattle Base Thieves hold the top spot with the ever dangerous Black Sox holding the second spot 1 back in the loss colum. We have the Yaks and Mountain Ducks both 1 game back of the second spot and 2 games back in the loss colum for the top spot. In other words.....It is anybody’s who wants it and whom ever plays best in September will earn either a top spot or a second spot. Let’s see who wants it more. 😁

With only 25 games left Babe Ruth of the Yaks is stuck on 38 homers. He will need 10 to tie and 11 to break in the last 25 games. Lajoie has 131 RBI and has a great chance of passing the 157 mark. In the WC race the Base Thieves has opened a two game lead for the top spot while the Yaks are trying to hold on to the second spot with a half game lead over both The Mountain Ducks and The Black Sox. Hold on to your hat. This is going to be a very bumpy ride to the end. 😱

What a wonderful league this is. I just got swept at home in a three game series against the last place Sea Wolves. They also destroyed Perfect Pedro getting 7 runs and running him out of the game in the 4th. This league has rejuvenated me back to loving this game again. I also made a lot of goals and record chasing events since Markus told me 19 will be good at least until next April and maybe longer. (But at least a year of record chasing against great teams.)Speaking of record chasing Ruth of The Yaks is still stuck at 38. Looks like the record of 48 will stay in place until next year when Bonds said he will be chasing it. On the RBI front Lajoie is still at 131. In the WC race the Base Thieves has opened up a two and a half game lead over the Black Sox for the top spot while the Black Sox hold the second spot by 1 game over The Mountain Ducks. Going to be a fun ending.

Perfect Mariano Rivera is on the Auction block for a 700,000 buy now price. I have been wanting him for awhile. I also still have 1800 Of the 2100 dollars I got from some generous friends when I was hurt to play my hobby. Problem is now I am very happy with Bruce Sutter who has 31 saves in 32 tries. I always judge my closer by save pct. I always keep them at 90 pct. I did that with Doolittle for years as he performed at that level. When the competition got better (Like now) he did not perform so well so it took me awhile to find another. Teams are at their best now. We have some what (I call Super teams )in these league which bring so much fun while competing against them but never is it easy anymore. So in short I am holding out on getting Rivera. If Sutter can do this in this league he should be fine in the future. If not...We’ll....I hope Mariano goes back up. If not, Then I might have made a mistake by not getting him and just placing him on my reserve roster until I need him. The playoffs this season should be wild. So many Super Teams ended up in this league this season.

I had a lot of luck with the cheaper Gagne. He was 90% last season for me. He may have also won an award.
I can’t check right now. I know he was the best reliever the last year in the points league. They have a 100 Gagne in PT20 with amazing stats.

With my magic number at 1 to win my Divison I am going to watch one more game and call it a night. Ruth is stuck on 38 so no record for him. Lajoie has 138 rbi and only needs 19 more to tie. That’s doable. In the WC race the Base Thieves hold a game and a half lead over the Mountain Ducks and the Black Sox who are tied for the second spot.. That race will go late into the night.
