55 in June.
Started out with APBA table-top version, went to Baseball for Windows, then DMB. Once I discovered OOTP there was no reason to look any further. |

18.... 19 in less than a month. I started out w/ fantasy baseball leagues in 99, then went to bbpro98, then to OOTP2 and the rest is history. My fondest baseball memory was in 93 (then 8 years old) i was at the St. Louis/Braves game the day the braves traded for Fred Mcgriff. At the time i did not know much about players outside of the atlanta braves. Well on that night the stadium caught on fire and mcgriff hit 2 homers and the braves won the game. However i didnt get to see it
I was with my aunt and uncle, my cousins were like 4 or 5 at the time so after the game was delayed for a couple of ours we left Also that year my dad told me that we got Greg Maddux. I was like who is Greg Maddux?? Well in 93 I changed from just a braves fan to a major league fan. I used to watch all of the cubs games on WGN that year. Sosa hit like 30 homers and so did a surprisingly Rick Wilkins.

32 here. Have liked baseball for over 20 years. When we played Rounders at school (I live in Canada now, but I'm a Brit by birth), I always wished it was baseball.

Soon to be 51....played Red Barber Baseball as a child, then ABPA, Strat, Sports Illustrated, and countless others that have fallen off the road of baseball sim games....
really liked FPS (cos it was physics based) but that fell to crap. First game getting off the train to see yankee stadium all green grass and just friggin beeeutiful --- other fun stuff seeing some of the yankee subs smokin dope in bull pen, harrassing Leon Wagner in Left field, and Pepitone in center on bat day - we all held up our bats to our face and yelled ....hey pep-i-nose....ah youth...

Turned 51 this year. It's not as old as I once thought it was ....
I started playing APBA in 1965. I played every game by shaking those dice and kept every team's detailed statistics by hand. I learned to use a slide-rule to make it easier to figure out BA and ERA. My bedroom was upstairs. My mother used to stand at the bottom of the stairs and yell at me, "You're not throwing those APBA dice again, are you?" "No, mother, of course not." But it was a lie! Now OOTP5 keeps all the stats for me and I don't have to roll the dice anymore. |

Turning 21 in January.
One day when I was probably 8 or 9 my grandma gave me this dice-based baseball game that I guess my grandpa used to play. At first I thought it was weird compared to the games coming out on Nintendo or whatever, but eventually that game consumed me. I wasn't satisfied with the results of the dice rolling, so I made the percentage charts more realistic, making things based on more specific stats. I would set up leagues using all players in a complete set I had of baseball cards. (One of my favorite things to do was to randomly pick up a pile of cards and make a lineup out of the first nine batters I would see; I could do that for hours.)I would even use the real MLB schedule; I'd save the complete schedule that was published in the local newspaper two or three days before opening day. I would keep track of statistics for an entire MLB league on my computer in a spreadsheet, complete with a leaderboard, single game and season records, etc. Man, thank God for OOTP. I'd still be doing this all by hand.

Well, I was 30 the first time this thread came around, but now I'm 31. If someone would like to bump it again in a half-year or so, I'll be 32.

I inherited my lking of statistics from my uncle.
![]() WHen I was 7 or 8 (I'm 14 now), I'd play that game that had the spinners, which I only got to play at my grandma's because she had all of my uncle's old games. I then got into little league and eventually, while reading a computer game magazine, discovered Baseball Mogul 2003, and bought it. I had fun playing the game, and through the BBM discussion forums, heard about OOTP4. I purchased it and played it for a few days until my computer bummed out and wouldn't run it for more than 5 minutes. That was a laptop comp. Once I got a better desktop computer, I purchased OOTP5, and have played it for a few months now, the game is excellent. |

Turned 17 on Halloween. My uncle got me into baseball at the age of 4. I've watched the Reds ever since and have turned into a statistical freak - OOTP is a dream come true!

I am 50 years old and will be turning 51 quickly. Started years ago playing Strat the board game great game. Now I am down to BBW and OOTP. I like BBW so I can play my games and OOTP to do the GM thing.
I am surprised that somebody hasn't tried OOTP like BBW in league play. It should provide OOTP with a new niche of players. Also been playing OOTP since Version 1 and it is amazing how much this game as progressed since its inception. Great job Markus. Mike |

Everyone playing this game is 9.7823333 due to the problems in the 5.14a patch.
Outside the game, I'm 30. |
