The Barnsley Tykes have become the first team to clinch a spot in the inaugural IBC Cup. Barnsley has not only won England's 2nd division Championship Baseball League and earned the right to participate in the IBC Cup but will also be promoted to the Premier League for the 2018 season.

A day later and another team has qualified for the IBC Cup. The American Association's Southern Maryland Blue Crabs will participate in this year's battle. In addition, for 2018 the Blue Crabs have earned promotion to the Pioneer League.

The Connecticut Tigers have joined Southern Maryland and Barnsley as the latest to qualify for the International Baseball Championship Cup. In addition, The Tigers will be promoted to the USBL for the 2018 season.

September 15th sees three more teams qualify for the IBC Cup. France's third division crowns Paris B.C. as league champ earning their way into the 2nd division. Katsuragi of the Ni-Gun League earns it's way into the top division in Japan along with an IBC Cup berth. Staying in Japan, we also see third division club Musashi claim the Baseball Challenge League title and earning a Cup spot along with promotion to the Ni-Gun.

September 19th adds another team to the IBC Cup as Middlesbrough clinches the English Premier Baseball League title.
