Long-Term version

The picture file set is very cool, and I'll definitely be using it for my leagues. I think in the distant future it could be really enhanced by a custom application.

Here's my thought. . the pack comes with a default uniform template with basically no color in it, but it lays out where the face goes. The commish or players fill in the appropriate colors and drop the team logo for each of their teams and saves it to a file. At any time the commish can run a 3rd-party app that will suck up the image for the player and attach it to the uniform template, pushing out a final image that will automatically be loaded up in the game. So after a big trade, you just run the app and the players are in the right uniforms. The app would also allow you to automatically assign face pictures to players randomly, to save that work. I could write this in a couple of weeks fairly easily, I think. The only downside is that all of the faces would have to conform to the uniform template. Looking at the current ones, there's a big variety in size of head, whether it's full frontal or 3-quarter, etc. That's cool for now, but I think in the future there'd have to be a standard if you wanted to swap players in automatically.

Thoughts?

I will be out of town from tomorrow until next Sunday (NOT this upcoming Sunday). So that means for the next week, please send some pictures in, and hopefully by the time I get back, the Pack will be complete!

nm, thanks for the heads up, as i have already renamed all of the files received thus far.

800 and counting!

Shorty,

I found time to finish a set of pics - sample:

70 different players with 30 copies adding facial hair for total of 100 faces.

I uploaded them on the web here so if anybody wants to down load them they are available

I have attempted to do such in the photoshop template that is located at adventureran.com. What I tried to do was create a generic stance and pose for the players and then create team specific templates that could be overlayed on any player with the correct pose. I don't have this automated but I do describe the method for doing it manually (not as difficult as thougt) in that process. Photoshop does have macros but they usually don't translate well between versions and I don't have the acumen for writing a 3rd party program to automate this process. Markmeister's photos use that template if you want an example.

StainedGlass,

A third party application to change the uniforms would be nice. All that would be required is for everyone that is contributing to make their templates available. Would complicate the application though since the progam would have to know which template to use for each picture (probably would have to have the user select the proper template).

Just by using PhotoShop, I was able to change uniforms in just a short bit of time. Just copied the photo in as a new background, deleted the background portion of the photo (helps that it is almost a solid color) and made new uniforms visible.

Anyone have a link for this tutorial? I can't find it (I'm sure I'm just an idiot, but it is Sunday morning afterall!)

Shorty,

I didn't send you mine. Just posted them to the web here .

These are jpg versions of the pics. If you wanted them in .bmp just let me know and I can zip them up and email them to you.

100 total pics (30 are copies with facial hair added).

Working on more - have 30 so far in a 'road grey' uniform.

Shorty, if you need a place to host it, feel free to add it to the OOTP Mods Directory. I can't wait to see it either. All the samples here have left me wanting more.

adventure, I tried to quickly log on to adventureran before I headed for the sack but had no success trying to do it through the windows ftp client. I will get into WSFTP tomorrow and upload it to adventureran w/ a quick readme and possibly instructions on how to batch convert so i could possibly zip it up as a jpeg.

Thanks.

PureSim Baseball?

Guys,

Amazing work! I grabbed this and re-sized them optimally for PureSim (65x90) and updated the game to auto-assign faces to fictional players. The whole thing looks great.

I have sent Shorty a personal email, but upon further review it looks like a lot of folks contributed to this effort.

So, my question is do any of you folks have a problem with me posting a "PureSim Version" of this Face Pack in the PureSim download gallery? I'd love for PureSim players to easily use these. They can still use your face pack "as is" since PureSim auto-sizes images, it would just be nicer if the images had the best fidelity possible and were easy to obtain.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.
