The 1907 Gauntlet Final Four! Addie Joss and Cleveland shut out Philadelphia 8-0 in Game 1. The Naps led 2-0 and then scored 4 in the 6th to blow the game open. Cleveland out-hit Philadelphia 11-5. Elmer Flick went 3-for-4. Philadelphia defeated Cleveland 5-2 in Game 2. Rube Waddell got the win, allowing just 1 earned run. Philadelphia broke a 1-1 tie with a 3-run 6th. Cleveland's Nap Lajoie went 3-for-4. The Athletics doubled-up Cleveland 14-7 in Game 3. The Naps had a 3-run 4th give them a 6-2 lead but the Athletics scored 9 runs in the 8th to come back and win. Including a 3-run homer by Jimmy Collins. Topsy Hartesell had a solo home run in the 2nd inning as he scored 3 times. Collins ended up with 5 RBI. Socks Seybold went 4-for-5 and scored 3 times. The 1907 Gauntlet Championship! To get here, Philadelphia had beaten the 1907 American League Champions and 1907 World Series Champions. The Giants pulled out the win 9-8 In Game 1. The Athletics scored 3 in the top of the 1st but New York came back with 3 in the 2nd to tie and then 3 more in the 3rd to take a 6-3 lead. Trailing 9-5, Philadelphia scored 3 in the top of the 9th to almost pull off another comeback. The Giants out-hit the Athletics 15-11. Sammy Strang went 3-for-3 and scored 3 runs and Roger Bresnahan went 3-for-3 with 3 RBI. Topsy Hartsel hit a 2-run homer in the 6th inning for Philadelphia. New York defeated Philadelphia 5-3 in Game 2. Trailing 1-0, the Giants scored 3 run in the bottom of the 4th inning to take the lead for good. The Athletics racked up 12 hits in the loss. Joe McGinnity recorded the complete game victory. Cy Seymour went 3-for-4. Socks Seybold delivered the walk-off RBI in the bottom of the 10th inning of Game 3 to give Philadelphia the 6-5 win. Frank Chance went 3-for-4. Chicago nipped New York 4-3 in Game 2. The Cubs got 11 hits in the game but also committed 4 errors. Jack Pfiester allowed just 1 earned run to get the complete game victory. Frank Chance went 4-for-5. The Giants took Game 3 2-1 in 10 innings. Christy Mathewon out-dueled Mordecai Brown as New York out-hit Chicago 5-3. The Giants won despite committing 3 errors. Chicago defeated New York 9-7 in Game 4. The Giants scored 5 in the 3rd to take a 5-2 lead but the Cubs came back with 5 in the 4th to go up for good 8-5. Each team had 12 hits. New York committed 4 errors and Chicago 3.
