John Godwin hit a home run.

WP - Teddy Higuera (4-5)
LP - Ron Darling (5-2)

Dave Stieb did not allow a single earned run through 7 innings but a number of errors sent this game to extras. Al Carlson sent them home happy, though, as a walk-off RBI single scored John Godwin to give Toronto a 6-5 win over Cleveland to kick off the double header.

Dave Parker his a home run.

WP - Jim Williams (1-0)
LP - Jeff Calhoun (4-3)

Record - 31-16
