CBA Standings: Apr 2019

Ming League

Early season surprises in the Ming League. Han Cup holder Guangzhou Flyers is leading the Ming League as of the end of the month. This is due to their batting (2nd in Runs with 107). The offseason aqusition of Oniji Okada (.333 12HR 31RBI) and Yorikane Abe (.284 1HR 7RBI) is paying off for Guangzhou. On the bottom of the Ming League are the Tianjin Lions. Even with Ken Maeda (umm...LA??) with a 0.23 ERA(!!!!) + a solid rotation (1st ERA 2.68) the Lions are in relegation position. The main reason is their hitting, as they are last in the Ming League in Runs (68), OBP (.260), and Home Runs (14). In Harbin they lost Otani's wingman, Kenjiro Yamazawa (elbow). He is out for 5 more weeks and a huge blow for Harbin, is 7th so far in rotation ERA (3.81). Guilin is off to a slow start, but they are starting to get together.
Han League

Shenyang and Xi'an are projected to be relegated before the season started. Xi'an is 2nd in the Han League, but that could change within a month because the gap between first and last is 7.5 games. At this level of competiveness in the Han League, anything goes. Chinese New Year Cup champion Changsha is in relegation position, as predicted. What happened to the Nguyen Dynasty? Last year Nguyen was on his way to another breakout season (9-2 1.37 ERA) before suffering an elbow injury. Now he is 1-2 with a 3.89 ERA. The Dynasty (Not you, Xi'an) has not fallen yet, as he is still leads the Han League in Strikeouts with 42. The Bears are last place, just a year removed from relegation. Will Zhengzhou fall further down in the CBA ladder?
Qin League

Guiyang predicted to be a sure 1st place, but rotation problems (10th, 6.30 ERA) has made the league closer than the predictions. They are now on a 6 game winning streak, but 2.5 games behind Xining and Lanzhou for 2nd. Hangzhou? They were predicted to be relegated, but they are in 1st! And Vu-Pham's ERA is 0.53! Their pitching staff has been dominant (1st rotation, 1st bullpen).
Xia League

Shenzhen is trying to get back to the Qin League. They are 1st with a 4 game lead. Wenzhou's Suzuki batting average is .500 in 98 At Bats despite a 45/45 out of 80 rating. Contact rating (80/80 out of 100) is the main reason. Shenzhen's pitching staff are 1st in starters and 2nd in bullpen despite a hitter friendly enviornment. Nanchang, who got relegated last season are in the bottom of the Xia Leage.

CBA Standings: May 2019

Ming League

Tianjin got out of relegation position as their offence improved in May. Harbin really needs Yamazawa back into the rotation, but he suffered a setback and will return mid-June. Harbin is 9th in rotation ERA (3.99) as of the end of May. In the Harbin rotation, Moromao Chikuda has 8 wins and no losses with ERA of 2.49. Chongqing and Guilin looks like they are not ready to compete in the top flight league after being promoted last season.
Han League

Could Changsha start the New Decade in the Qin League? It is all but likely, as they are 9 game behind 6th place. The Emperor of the (Yu) Nguyen Dynasty has reached the century mark in Strikeouts, 2nd in the CBA, behind Harbin's Shohei Otani (112) . As expected, the Tigers and Dongfang are fighting for 1st in the Han League, but Xiamen are also in it, trying to get promoted again. Shijiazhuang has a comfortable cusion from relegation postition. They are even in play for a Han Cup tournament.
Qin League

Xining is running away with the lead. Hangzhou after a hot start has fallen to 4th place in the Qin League. A big loss in Hangzhou, as Yataro Kato has been lost for the season with an elbow injury. Guiyang's pitching staff has improved and now closer to the Qin Tournament.
Xia League

The 2 teams that got relegated last season are now 1st and 2nd, with Taiyuan tied for 2nd with Dalian. Shenzhen's only weakness is the Bullpen (5th, 3.21 ERA), but they are in the top 3 in other major categories.

Ming League

Harbin had a hot June, going 21-7 during the month. This helps them be 2nd in the Ming League, a game behind the Hopestars. Chikuda of Harbin continues to be perfect (12-0 2.14 ERA). Chongqing is deep in relegation postion (14.5 games behind 7th), and will most likely be relegated. Guilin is thought to be a contender in the Ming Tournament before the season started, but are also in relegation position.
Han League

Dongfang and Tigers are still 1 and 2. Changsha in the bottom of the Han League. The Yuanshuai are in position for tournament play even if they are predicted to be relegated before the season started.
Qin League

XINING IS ON AN 11 GAME WINNING STREAK!! AND LOOK AT MASAHIRO SHIMIZU BATTING AVERAGE .463!! He is sure taking advantage of hitter friendly contitions in Xining with the altitude of 7500 feet, that is higher than Coors Field in Denver. In Guiyang the 'saurs moved up to 2nd. Their pitching staff has greatly improved now 4th in rotation (3.97 ERA) and 2nd in bullpen (3.49). Hangzhou continues to slide, now 5th in the Qin League. They now have to avoid being in relegation position as they are now 4 games ahead of 7th.
Xia League

Taiyuan is now in 1st. They are looking for than just a promotion. Wenzhou in 4th, with a .400+ batter, Tanosuke Suzuki, who is hitting .421.

Game 3

(Game was not live streamed)
In Game 3 it was another high scoring game and went back-forth resulting in extra innings. Thu Loan hits a 3 run home run in TOP 10th to break the tie. This would be his first appearence into the Emperor's Cup Final.
