"recently signed Dominican prospect Carlos Vasquez has been exposed as a fraud. Vasquez, who was signed less than a year ago by the Chicago Cubs, was reported to be only 17 years old at time of signing. Documents now show that Vasquez is actually 22, and using his older brother's name. Carlos Vasquez is actually Juan Vasquez".

As a Buddhist (not a religion, more of a philosophy...Theravada with the Lama is what most people think of with Buddhism, but it's not the main branch) I say Greed is very low and loyalty goes very high! Sweet!

This may have already been tossed out but I really would love to see the following storylines.
1) Player X shows up to spring training in impeccable shape (ratings jump) or out of shape (ratings decrease). 2) Player X is being a malcontent (ala Manny Ramirez) and refuses to give any effort (temporary ratings decrease) until he is traded. 3) The Roger Dorn -- a once sterling ballplayer signs a big deal and then regresses out of fear of injury. Fielding ability suffers (no more diving), no longer willing to take HBP etc... 4) The Madoff -- a rich team owner is swindled by a ponzi scheme and must totally blow up the team before selling it off. |

I am not sure if this has been covered but here is my idea
Player X who was traded from Team A/left as a free agent to sign with A has returned to Team B He had this to say a/ I really have fond memories of playing here and miss it here manager and GM's popularity goes down B/ I am glad to be gone, the most excitement in this town is at the insert fast food restaurant is open Manager and GM's popularity goes up I think this should be popular players, guys that you lose popularity in trading away. |

I think storylines would be a good way to handle players joining the armed forces during WWII (or other times, but especially WWII). A guy joins the army, is out of the game for a year or two or three, maybe comes back or maybe doesn't. Not sure it's possible to implement, but I'd love to see it.

How about subsets of storylines. Like War I and II if one is playing a Historical League. An option to turn on or off

Sort of. The one you're thinking of is where the owner gets caught in a Ponzi scheme and fan interest/loyalty take an utter nosedive, which results in a lot less income, though it does not necessitate blowing the team up (but does make it more likely).
I think people's problem with it wasn't so much the outcome (after all, if the owner suddenly has a lot less cash, things change), but the mechanism. |

Or didn't retire. If properly written (and I'd vounteer to write some pieces for it, if people thought my writing was up to the task [I'm a semi-professional playwright, so I have some experience) an ongoing storyline about the first transgender player in MLB would be fascinating.

Upset about the JackWagons falling out of contention in the Primary league West, two players on the Los Angeles JackWagons had an altercation in the clubhouse tunnel. First Baseman John Smith attacked Pitcher Kyle Smooth with a baseball bat after weeks of accussations by Smooth that Smith had ruined the clubhouse culture and poisoned the team. Smooth was rushed to Los Angeles Memorial hospital with a possible broken kneecap. Los Angeles Police arrested Smith at the scene. Represenatives for the JackWagons declined to comment. A representative for the league said that they are still gathering information on the incident, and that suspensions are likely.
Team Can Trade Smooth (Injured 45 days) Team Can Release Smith (Suspended 30 games) If Smith is popular, maybe he can spin story that Smooth threw the first punch. (Smooth now disliked)

Two other real life stories, if anyone wants to write them up:
- Bryce Brentz just shot himself accidentally while cleaning a handgun. - pitcher Matt White bought a mountain property a few years ago that was later discovered to contain 24 million tons of Goshen stone, worth about $2.5 billion dollars. So while he was in AAA with the Dodgers, his net worth was in the billions. |

I had an idea about a story similar to this, where a player is cleaning out the attic of a house he recently purchased and finds a collection of rare baseball cards. |

I mean something more extensive. So many MLB players lost time in WW2 in particular, and the minor leagues were basically gone. It would be something that would have a huge effect on teams, but would only happen during those particular years.

Storylines of players leaving baseball to serve in Iraq and Afghanistan can also be implemented for modern leagues.
