In general, pitcher's do not reach their prime until age 29 or 30, so I'm guessing that's the thought process behind it. I do agree though, Lincecum actually improving is a scary prospect. As a Phillies fan, this is the team that scares me most of all. My prediction is that San Francisco will finally get a World Championship within the next few years.

Tango makes an argument that it is younger than that.

The 2009 awards are not updated in the player histories. It's written in the text portion but not in the awards section.

I saw this as well - would be nice to get this fixed.

Of course! I usually play fictional players. It's good to be reminded that scouts are not infallible. Now I've got to find me a new scout!

Also, don't know if this fits the thread guidelines, but if you can change Chris Carpenter (Daytona Cubs) name to Christopher Carpenter. I know you're trying not to have any duplicate names. Already changed it in mine but for anyone who's gonna use the photos I am putting together
I changed Hurdle in the database and changed Chris Carpenter to Christopher (trivial, but I know in my work on the pics last year, it is helpful to not have any players with the same name). This won't be fixed in the upcoming release but will hopefully be in the next patch.

Thanks!
Well, he is given a league minimum contract and put on the 40-man; as far as I know, there isn't any way for us to force the team to keep him on the active roster (at least in the DB, if it is possible, it would have to be done by Markus).

This might be a tough one because of the injury but I think Ben Sheets is too low.

His career ERA is 3.72. His career WHIP is 1.20. His ERA projects to be 4.15 in this version. Now I understand he is coming off of a year layoff, but I dont think he is completely "done" as a pitcher, but again trying to project after an injury like his cant be easy.

Regarding pitchers, please note the following:

* Guys who were injured last year are among the hardest to rate - who knows how well they'll recover. In general, we rely on projection systems to benchmark these guys. If you think someone like Sheets is underrated, then you can edit him of course, but his ratings should be in line with what projection systems expect of him.

* Pitchers have less control over HR rate than they do over K rate or BB rate, so in general you should expect some regression to the league average in that area.

* The K rate projections in the Editor view do not account for the Stuff bonus a pitcher can receive for pitching in relief.

As for updates to the set, while I've made quite a few changes over the last day or so, only some of these are reflected in the quickstart that was released with the game today. There will be periodic updates of the roster file, however.

Nelson Figeroura is on the Mets roster. He got claimed by the Phillies last week. Also Russ Adams was not on the roster at all. Ruben Tejada was.

See earlier - players are with the teams they were on as of Opening Day.

I am not 100% sure but I believe Gary Matthews' contract is wrong on the Mets. OOTP has him earning 12M this season and 11M next. I will be shocked if that's accurate.

Anyone know for sure?

There is an issue there - here's his contract:

07:$6M, 08:$9M, 09:$10M, 10:$11M, 11:$12M

but he was acquired by the NY Mets in a trade from the Angels, where the Mets pay $2M, Angels pay $21.5M of $23.5M left on contract. So in reality, for the Mets, the numbers should be lower, but it's not clear if they force the other money onto the Angels.

It is, he signed a crazy contract with the Angels a few years back after his big year with the Rangers. The Mets are actually only on the hook for $2 million as the Angels are picking up the rest but yes, those contract figures are correct.

This must have not gotten into the first update, but

MR Manny Acosta is no longer on the Atlanta Braves' roster, but is on the New York Mets'. And MR Christhian Martinez is on the Braves' roster now, coming from the Marlins I believe.

In the game, Jeff Suppan has 2 years left on his deal when this should be the last year of it

Martinez changed teams after opening day, so he'll stay where he is. I've edited Acosta's team in the database, but I guess Markus built the new roster file before I made that edit. There will be periodic updates of the roster file, and among many other improvements, Acosta will be on the right team in the next update.

He actually has a 2011 club option worth 12.75 million with a 2 million dollar buyout.
