The only thing I learned from these three games is that no one has the edge.
This series has perhaps the best chance of any to go 7 games and even then no one can clearly pick a winner. |

They both were reaches. The Phillies were given two horrendous calls the night before, the Balk and the pick-off at second. I don't see how the two horrendous calls the next day are any more reason for losing than the two the day before.

BS. There were calls that went Phillies way too. What about the strike three that was two inches off the ground for BJ Upton. As for that blown call it was more an honest mistake than anything. The ump listens for the foot hitting and the ball hitting the glove. It was a close call and anybody could have gotten it wrong whether they were going for one team or the next.

I also love the double-standard you're setting up (calls against the Phils are an honest mistake, while calls against the Rays are horrendous, can't-believe-they-called-it-that-way calls), as well as how you've become a Rays apologist. It's amusing more than anything else. |

I think bad calls are part of all games. Or calls that are close and umps make mistakes on that we with replay going super slo-mo can tell are mistakes. I was simply pointing out to the phillie fans that say the umps have it in for them that those types of calls are happening on both sides of the ball, and it isn't just a sympthon of umps hating the phils.

Yup, the umps are clearly in the Rays' pockets.

Both were. Tampa hitters helped him quite a bit by chasing a lot. The umpire was even characterized as a strike-caller.

Rollins was out. Bad call to benefit Philly there.

Philly just doesn't seem to want to put a game away. No killer instinct.

Rollins got away with one there. And of course, they leave the bases loaded, only getting a run because of a walk. Two chances to bring in more and they fail.

Terrible call.
Of course if they go to 2nd like they should, it's an inning-ending double play. |

Ehhh...same difference. He's just Burrell with a better tan.
OMG...the Phillies finally got a hit with men in scoring position. I can't believe it.

Well in that case, no way would they have turned two. ![]() But seriously, Mike Lieberthal thinks Pat Burrell and Ryan Howard are slow. |

Watching the commercials makes me realize the Phillies need Jack Bauer.
