I ran what was (at the time), the only Fan Site of OOTP, and I'm talking the first OOTP. Site still exists, but I'm afraid it has no content (even in Google's cache).
I was a betatester for OOTP2 and been here forever, though I don't ever post. Still buying all the games, though ![]() Here is the link ... OOTP Fan Site Cheers K. Last edited by Kokoshin; 06-13-2008 at 08:39 AM. |

"First, Markus Heinsohn, the mastermind behind OOTP, is pondering a release [OOTP2] that will revolutionize the gaming world."
-- Still remember the day V2 came out. It looks antediluvian now, but was amazing for online play to have a game like that back then.

I wanted to say I started with v3, but it may well have been 4, especially after seeing sporr's screenshots.
Which is to say: NOT ME!

I reckon if you wanted a dead thread it should have been restricted to the few who started with one. I really don't see what harm is being done. Perhaps you and queensryche could enlighten me. There aren't very many threads I have seen that have stayed to the topic. |

I would have bought v1 had I known about it.
![]() I didn't discover OOTP until version 2. Still have the CD!

I think I was around for three. I picked up Season Ticket at the Virgin Mega store in NYC. A that time, as I recall being told there was OOTP the downloadable version and STB was the retail version.
As I recall, pretty much whenever HIgh Heat went belly up. I consider High Heat the last true "video" game. The last game that I feel gave me all I wanted was Tony LaRussa 3 '96. I have long been down on the idea of text sims. I figured if Tony and High Heat could give us graphics, why can't ttoday's games? I think the fact that we're getting sound back, and that we have some sort of ball flight now will be huge. The concepts at the heart of OOTP have been great. The dpth has been tremendous. I have not been a fan of the way many things have been handled over the years. The thing I have to remember, is that I'm not a programmer and don't know my rear end from my elbow when it comes to knowing what goes into fixing bugs and getting things to work correctly. For three years I've said I will not buy this game and for three years I've come back, because the alternative is worse. I'll leave it at that. I'm not going to get into bashing other games here. |

I have to say that I'm extremely impressed with your work and dedication over the years. It says a lot that a young guy could keep a small company going through the ups and downs that are part of business, doing what's clearly a passion of yours for this long and having success like this, in a niche that most still don't realize exists.
All the kudos to you upon your newest release, because from a business perspective, I realize it's no small feat. |

Good lord, people crying over posts in the thread... here, I'll amend mine so the post police won't nab me.
"I'm still around after buying OOTP 1!!!" * * If by one, you mean the OOTP the first; as in, the first OOTP I knew about. It was otherwise known as OOTP 2. |

I believe I had review copies of OOTP 1 and OOTP 2. OOTP 3 I think I purchased, and have been purchasing them ever since. Sometimes more than once, hehe.

Thank you for that flashback OOTP3 report. It brings back memories of my online leagues I was in when I was about 15. I can still remember one of my teams best pitcher was Bud Smith, who eventually had a CEI during a championship run season. OOTP is probably one big reason I started getting into the minor league players in professional baseball since I had already been so familiar with names such as Josh Beckett, Mark Prior, Prince Fielder etc long before their actually major league debuts (along with super OOTP prospects such as Rocco Baldelli, Sean Burroughs, Wilson Betemit.)
