He beat hevyweights Joe Bonds, Battling Levinsky (twice), Sailor Grande, and Willie Meehan. He drew with heavies Gunboat Smith and Meehan. Defeanted Dennis Andries in 1987 and Virgil Hill in 1991. Lost the version of the LHW title he won from Hill to Iran Barkley in 1992. Barkley had his number.
