Parlour finally scores in close to the 70th minute..an excellent goal from distance. Thierry Henry again is pulling a disappearing act. He reminds me a bit of ARod..great but disappears in the clutch.

Ljungburg finishes off Chelsea with an amazing cold-blooded goal. An excellent 2nd half in this match.

Congrats Man City.....

Quote:
Manchester City have ended their home programme of Premier League matches by scoring only 10 goals - the lowest number scored at home in the English top flight since League football began in 1888.

Their 1-0 defeat in the local derby to Manchester United at Eastlands was their eighth successive home league match without a goal and means their tally of 10 goals in 19 matches is the worst ever.

The previous record was shared by Woolwich Arsenal, who scored 11 in 19 matches in 1912-13 and Sunderland, who also scored 11 in 19 matches in 2002-03.

City missed a penalty in last week's home match against Aston Villa and also against United. Their defeats in both of those games means their 19 home matches produced five wins, six draws and eight defeats.

City last scored a home league goal in a 2-1 win over Everton on New Year's Day when Giorgios Samaras converted a 72nd-minute penalty.

I guess at least they turned those ten goals into five wins. Watford scored 18 and only won three.

Italian football must be in trouble; Lazio are playing for a Champs League spot and there are loads of either invisible fans or empty seats.

Lazio's Jiminez is getting the s kicked out of him in the first 20 minutes..been down twice. If he leaves the match Lazio could be in trouble. This match looks like its being played mafia style.

Everyone knows I don't like the play off format so I'd be opposed to making it even bigger.

It almost looks like MLS atmosphere...or at least a good 3/4 of MLS matches I've watched.

And the match is a sad pathetic opera of diving and thuggery. Mostly boredom.

Next season Premiership could be a real dogfight specially the relegation part of it, I can easily see both Sunderland and Birmingham staying up so means two from the Premiership now going down. I can't honestly see any of the teams that go up through the play offs staying up in fact I think your looking at whoever does come up via the play offs being the whipping boys next season.

Thinking more of it I'm not really concerned if Wigan go down, yes they'll lose alot of money but Whelans hardly broke and he doesn't spend much anyway but I do think we are strong enough to bounce back up and maybe a season in the Championship to recharge batteries and such wouldn't be a bad thing.

From the heights of the Revie and, later, Wilkinson eras to the third tier of English football. Sad, sad, sad.

Didn't they sell Elland Road? Have they been drawing very well in recent years? That place always seemed to have sort of a mystical appeal -- a packed house, rabid fans, etc.etc.. But I thought I read somewhere how there have been lots of empty seats as the team has endured one mishap and/or disappointment after another.

Never waive the white flag grrr lol, just don't see it as being a jolt to the system as it would be to say West Ham. With what happened with Ken Bates and Leeds makes you wonder were are the morals in football anymore, maybe legal what he did but no way is it moral and also this season you could have the biggest club trophy with the Champions League and Milan being lifted by a corrupt team (fact) and West Ham who also broke rules being rewarded with a £50 million cheque by the Premier League, makes the old saying "cheaters never prosper" go out the window.
